Good Morning
Sun is up, going to 70s.
Kurt, Pat and I were going to meet you for ribs but you forgot to include your address.:)
Going to the train store this morning, got to make sure they remember me in case something I want comes in.
Smile it's friday, but that also means another week has gone by never to return....S.J.

Morning everyone! Got humbled this morning. Typically, the younger guys will seek out the more experienced for a "Grey Haired Consult". Well, I had difficulty finding a particular marker on a X-Ray on a patient from yesterday. Asked one of the younger surgeons and he pointed it right out....Oh well! We all had a good laugh over that.
Have daughter's recital (ballet) tomorrow. MIL and her husband will be here for that. While they are not on my 'favorites' list, I'll bite the bullet and entertain if for no other reason than it will make the bride happy. Speaking of bride, I need to come up with a good Mother's Day present. I figure flowers and something from Bath and Body Works will be a good start. Have to get back on the good side of purchasing to set the table for more train related purchases.
Chief, congrats to Lucy! I am sure she enjoyed the trips on the golf cart. Does Berg take any trips lately? Also, I bet that was some good vittles you ate there. Not exactly a cardiac diet, but hey, you have to eat sometime and if you enjoy something, more than likely, it is not on the diet anyway.
Well, plan to cut the grass this afternoon. I had planned on leaving an acre or two uncut for the wildlife, but the weeds have over grown them, so I'll cut that back too. Just hope it stays dry this afternoon.
BTW Chief, I see that South Carolina had a minor earthquake...has Don been here to visit? With all the rain, it'd make him into shake and soak!
God Bless,
Dennis

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It's a cloudy 60 degrees. Going up to 72 today, with a rain shower, maybe.
Today is a busy day. I am running errands again. Two stops and then home. I have a few chores to do and then I am free to relax. Run trains. I need to work on a few train items. Lub and cleaning.
Dining car was here for breakfast and departed for "Points West".
Buckeye....TGIF
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
Happy Friday to everyone, spring has truly arrived, watery eyes and more humidity, YES. One last big state contest for me today and tomorrow--tonight in SW Iowa and tomorrow in NE Iowa, hope Bambi and her parents leave me alone, lots of miles in the dark tonight.
Sometimes I wonder...Why is that frisbee getting bigger?...Then it hits me

DJSpankyMornin' all! Looks like a beautiful day here in VA - too bad they're talking rain showers tonight and tomorrow. I haven't mowed my lawn yet and it's a jungle - almost 2 feet high in some places. Well, I guess I can drag my mower out tomorrow and wash and disinfect it. Then it will be ready for Sunday, which is supposed to be nice. I promised a picture of my using the viaduct platforms even though I don't have them finished or the bridges set up, so here it is:

Spank - I have been trying to figure out a second level for my layout. Yours looks great, and something similar would work for me. I need to reach in from all sides to the middle of my 6" X 16' layout.
I am curious - are you in VA or NJ?
SJ - If we can get Jon to come and bring his special Baked Beans I will leave no stone unturned until I find Kurt's address!
Repeat question to the Coffee Pot:
Anyone have experience putting together O scale kits by Bar Mills? Frank53 posts on this and "the other" forum and thinks highly of their kits. He has postings of How To put some of them together. I want to try one, but wanted to ask the Coffee Pot your thoughts.
I may have to start a thread on this one.

A few days ago I asked why no email notice on thread posts, and then started a thread on this subject. I got several reply's on both, but I didn't do a good job explaining. Here is my answer from the other thread:
I am probably in the minority on this one. I like the email notices because:
1) I answer several threads and it is quicker to read the emails to see if I need to answer any of them. After I answer I delete the email.
2) It is difficult to go to each thread and try to find where my last reading left off, especially the Coffee Pot and SPF threads.
RT - I wander if the past problem you mention was a one time glitch?
Pat ... no I've never had one of those particular kits . But have assisted my bro-in-law on some others . They're all basically the same idea . They take awhile but the results are great .... extremely detailed and realistic compared to snap or glue together units .... but alot more time consuming .
Picked up another skeleton log car by k-line cheap ... for a change ... jordan spreader and hobo jungle arrived by cute mail-lady yesterday ... dullcote went to crap ... I left the lid loose by mistake ... .... had to order more .... just what i need ... am behind weathering now .....
Morning all.
I haven't had time to post or read posts since I left for York.
Had a great time at York and it was great seeing all the CTT forumites! Spent a lot of time with John F crawling around the fairgrounds. Talking with the CTT guys was fun as always.
Hope everyone is doing well. Work continues to be a bear to wrestle with and long days make it hard to stare at another computer screen after work and late at night.
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy

Spank, we are practically neighbors. We are about 40 miles north of Charlotesville in Culpper.
I found your viaduct threads, current and previous. Very informative (and entertaining). Found fife's as well. Sort of a before and after set of threads. Looking forward to seeing your updates.
Morning all, it has been hot here all week. Wild fires up in Santa Barbara North of us. Had to change my morning walk of two miles around the neighborhood to going round and round in the park where it is shady. Went shopping yesterday for some summer duds. Guy asked me "how come you are buying clothes for yourself on mothers day week"? I told him I buy clothes every ten years wheather I need them or not. We went out to eat last night at the local eye talian restaurant with our church group. I had chicken marsalla. Baked chicken *** with roasted potatoes in a wine sauce. It was really good but a lot more black pepper than I can tolerate. I'll pay the price for that. Chief is rubbing salt in the wound by telling me all about that good seafood he gets back there like flounder and shrimp. We get halibut here which is a flat fish too but it cost an arm and a leg. Someone mentioned cole slaw. I made some last week but the cabbage must have been too old. On second day the stuff was so hot I had to through it out. Good cole slaw always makes me long for Eastern North Carolina Bar-B-Que or fish. Had a get together Wednesday night with my train buddies at friend's layout. Put my Lionel SP Atlantic through it's paces on his layout running in TMCC which I can't do at home because all I have is DCS. Also fixed broken hand rails around smoke box front with crazy glue. My friend is a Burlington fan and has all those neat 3rd rail Burlington Hudsons (three versions) and the latest 2-10-4 which is a big engine. My buddy also has a scale two rail O gauge trolley layout running around his regular three rail layout. Beautiful hand built trolleys with interiors and figures, overhead lighting etc. It was nice to let someone else play host to our weekly get together for a change. We probably won't do much now until after the month of May due to other obligations we all have.
Brutus, I'm ready for another Tardis ride. Let's go somewhere cool.
Chief, hope you have a ride on mower for all that alfalfa you're growing for a lawn at the lake house.
Have a good day y'all,
Ray

Hope all our Calif. brethren are OK. Gorgeous day here. I got a tremendous amount done with my young helper who introduced me to a new way to mix concrete - with water balloons... Bride got to Tiffin Ohio.ok too. Off to soccer practice. Where's Jack?

Pat, I actually work right down the road from you in Ruckersville! I can see living down here that I will need to buy a pickup truck at some point - right now I can't get the sheet of masonite I need to skin my viaduct platforms without doing some fancy finagling in one of my cars. Hopefully I can do that tomorrow, providing the weather holds out.
To bad you aren't a little closer. You could borrow my truck. You still can, but it may not be worth it for one sheet of Masonite. but you are welcome to it, now or later. It has a shell on it so rain is not a problem. Ruckersville! I can almost through a stone and hit Ruckersville!
You never know about the weather forecast. Tomorrow may work for you. They forecast showers today, but none came and I cut grass for 3 1/2 Hrs. Forecasting showers tomorrow, but who knows.......
Let me know here or by PM if my truck can help.
Patrick (Pat)
I am getting email notices again, I think. Received 30+ emails on notices not received since they were discontinued. BUT no email notices on today's posts. We will see if this post is emailed to me. I need to thank someone - Bob K?
Spank - one of the delayed emails was yours asking where in VA I live. I didn't catch that before, but now you know.
Remember, anyone who doesn't want to receive email notices of posts need to do nothing. email Subscription Disabled is the default setting.
Email notice IS working.
RT - Thanks for the tip about Grzyboski's. Got the Jimmy Johnson 2006 box car for $16.95! Also got the I Love Virginia car (not quite as valuable as the one from Ohio, yet) and some little people.
Pat
Good lord ... depressing to keep clicking on ebay auctions with " from the estate of my ..... " all those dead fellow's collections being sold . Think I'll get 3 grave lots .... the one in the middle for my trains ... wife on the other end .... .... she does'nt need a new sedan for all her friends in those darth vader sunglasses and 15 years of hair stylists appointments running over or running folks off the road in Florida .... man they're dangerous .
Good Evening
A warm 70s today but one is all we are going to get. Back to 60s tomorrow.
Well I made it in and out of the train store without buying anything. I did get the new MTH set catalog. They changed the size to more like a "back pocket" book. Lots of pages though but I did not notice anything new. I think they added some new road names but that is just about all.
I had butter pecan but banilla is waiting for the Tardis crew.

Hello all,

Haven't kept up with the pot to well this week. I'm going to work on that now until I get too sleepy
Have a good night

Doug, we are safe from fires at the present time. Fire I referred to in Santa Barbara is about 100 miles North of here up the coast. We are suppose to get some cooler weather next week.
LAZ ..... save me a big glass of that grape juice !
The Beacon is on from the North woods tonite. Happy National Train Day Guys!!!

Beacon is on. Watch the thunderstorms...
Tardis is ready - it's Ole Timer's turn to drive Had a nice chat tonight and also with SJ of course. Then, talked with Charlie for a few minutes, now going to jump in the good old T-Machine and come get you guys, lol! Laz might be up still? Got some Old Mills calling our name, bro! Ray, you are always on a the regular route of course Charlie, I think we can just see your signal from here, lol! Doug - interesting mixing method! Hope the Sonic burgers were good (always are!) and you got some of their onion rings, I love those Lots of neat stuff going on, just too much to comment on it all. Glad you made it back, Banks!
8ntruck, I tried to reply three times on that PM and I'm not sure it worked. Shoot me a regular email if you got my reply, okay?
Gotta hit the hay, but you guys have a great day tomorrow! Working 6 hours so have to be up in 6 hours - yikes!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
Thunderstorms this morning, then cleared off by lunchtime. Wonderful afternoon. The only trouble I managed to get into at work today can wait until after vacation - assuming work is still there when I get back. The automtive industry is going through some really strange times right now.
Took some time to sit out on my deck last night, enjoy a fire in the fire pot and watched a thunder storm pass to the north of town. Spectacular lightening show!
Brutus - two of your replys got through. I replied to your reply through the forum. I'll cover it with an E-mail, just in case.
CNW1995 - I've mixed concrete in a wheelbarrow, in an electric mixer, had it delivered from a truck, and did the concrete mixing dance in El Savlador. Water balloons is a new one! Also, thanks for the weather report. Normally one day of track time gets rained out at this event, but that leads to bench racing in the hotel lobbies - fun either way.
Looks like a weekend full of yard work. The trick will be figuring out how to watch the F1 race on Mothers's Day.
HI GYZ,
62 here and another nice day on tap. Ran trains last nite for an hour NO PILE UPs. The OL MILs or just end o week caught up to me and fell asleep at 930 last nite feel great.
Check out the latest BTB, he gave us a TA DA at the end with DA GROUP PIC, by BRENT. TANKS BOB!!!
Ol TIMER, now you know why wine is so expensive.
Gotta plant today then go trout fishing with BRO?
Stay frosty,
laz57
Morning all. A grey mothers day eve here in Illinois. Storms overnight. Misting right now. Got to decide do we want to play baseball or soccer today - I think the latter even though it'll be freezing out there. The youngest seems to have most fun with all the running. Hope to get up in the attic in a few to install these 12 baffles for air circulation. Then to clean the house. Was prepping to mix concrete in a big bucket when I was dastardly attacked by water balloons several of which made their way into the powder. Oh well, so I added more powder and left the balloon remnants in - I was just pouring it over some rocks holding up um decorating the mailbox pole... Need more coffee. Cut up french bread for toast with homemade raspberry jam - a good breakfast. Brutus, Sonic burgers were good - watched a bad sci-fi movie in your honor too 'Chronicles of Riddick'Laz, I loved the photo at the end of BTB - the Illuminati!
67 when I got up. We have had a shower since then and sun is out. BUT the temp is going down from here. yawn.
Water balloons eh Doug, you live in the Chicago area and should know the routine for water balloons. Cement shoes. :)
My chores are done so I will just fumble through the day..S.J.
Morning guys,
Sounds like everyone is doing well, hope you enjoy your weekend Doug, get the baffles done, then play time.
- Santa Barbara fires still going, really sad, over 80 homes burned. Area burning is really inaccessible, the terrain is very hilly, lots of rocks, and significant foilage. Roads/Streets are extremely narrow as well. Lot of them barely enough room for 2 cars to pass. Definitly a deficult situation.
- Went to AGHR meeting this week, elected a new president, good guy won. Election was won by ONE vote! The club decided to put in the large new Ross turntable, expensive! And of course lots of typical club politics going on! Guess it can't be avoided.
One guy there told me he bought ALL 4 of the NEW Vision engines! Both the steam AND the diesels. He also bought the Vision tank cars. ($7k). Then the next day I go to Arnies (LTS) to get a copy of the new MTH catalog, and he's in the store, just purchased a 3 car passenger set, and 2 pair of the Spine container cars, and was looking for a TIU. (Must be nice!)
After looking through the MTH catalog, found the Aerotrain interesting, especially the story, but don't think I'm interested in owning one. Did like the trolleys, looking especially at the Brill units. Maybe Christmas. Other than that not overly excited about a lot.
Have a weekend off, no major gardening work, just some minor clean up. After getting rid of the Birds of Paradise, (18, 32gal bags), I think the planter is going to be reconfigured. That will require brick and mortar work. So will wait on that to when have 2 or 3 days off.
Police activity has been very active at the neighbors house. Rumor has it that the dancer is a live in guest for the old man that owns the house. And he has restraining orders on 2 of her boyfriends. They sneak in sometimes from an open bedroom window, he finds out and a ruckus starts. Then a neighbor calls the police for excessive noise. Could eventually become a real explosive situation.
Going to get busy before the day escapes me. Hope everyone has a great Mother's Day !!
Don
Been thinking of Don, Doug, SPman - prayers for those affected by the fires and the tornadoes down south, Wow, you really have to be a contortionist to crawl around an attic crawlspace. Got the baffles in. Hopefully, will lead to a little more air circulating. Need a fan up there someday. Weird day - sun followed by grey - misting, scudding clouds, windy, then sun again. Got to get some more stuff for mom's day tomorrow after soccer. Then hopefully train time! Back to cleaning.
Morning guys, looks like everyone is braced er ready for Mother's Day. Hope my kids will take care of mom tomorrow. I will probably cook or take them all out some place but it's always crowded when you go out.
Don, get some rest after all the yard work.
Wife's brother has alzheimers. We need to plan on a visit to see him and his wife. Lots of logistics to figure out account I have to have oxygen when I fly so I need to get more batteries for the portable oxygen concentrator I have. They live in Chattanooga so I guess the nearest big airport would be in Atlanta. Went through there last time we saw them. I think they have a smaller airport in Chattanooga but don't know how that is.
Have a good week end y'all
All the tardis systems check good to go ... shined ... ready to transport .... laz ... bring along a couple gallons of that sweeeet tastin wine .... bill's on me ...
