Doug, we are safe from fires at the present time. Fire I referred to in Santa Barbara is about 100 miles North of here up the coast. We are suppose to get some cooler weather next week.

Hello all,
It's been a busy week. Need to get the grass cut, it's been too wet. So so forecast for tomorrow. Maybe I can get it done
Haven't kept up with the pot to well this week. I'm going to work on that now until I get too sleepy
Have a good night

Good Evening
A warm 70s today but one is all we are going to get. Back to 60s tomorrow.
Well I made it in and out of the train store without buying anything. I did get the new MTH set catalog. They changed the size to more like a "back pocket" book. Lots of pages though but I did not notice anything new. I think they added some new road names but that is just about all.
I had butter pecan but banilla is waiting for the Tardis crew.

Good lord ... depressing to keep clicking on ebay auctions with " from the estate of my ..... " all those dead fellow's collections being sold . Think I'll get 3 grave lots .... the one in the middle for my trains ... wife on the other end .... .... she does'nt need a new sedan for all her friends in those darth vader sunglasses and 15 years of hair stylists appointments running over or running folks off the road in Florida .... man they're dangerous .
Email notice IS working.
RT - Thanks for the tip about Grzyboski's. Got the Jimmy Johnson 2006 box car for $16.95! Also got the I Love Virginia car (not quite as valuable as the one from Ohio, yet) and some little people.

I am getting email notices again, I think. Received 30+ emails on notices not received since they were discontinued. BUT no email notices on today's posts. We will see if this post is emailed to me. I need to thank someone - Bob K?
Spank - one of the delayed emails was yours asking where in VA I live. I didn't catch that before, but now you know.
Remember, anyone who doesn't want to receive email notices of posts need to do nothing. email Subscription Disabled is the default setting.

Pat, I actually work right down the road from you in Ruckersville! I can see living down here that I will need to buy a pickup truck at some point - right now I can't get the sheet of masonite I need to skin my viaduct platforms without doing some fancy finagling in one of my cars. Hopefully I can do that tomorrow, providing the weather holds out.
To bad you aren't a little closer. You could borrow my truck. You still can, but it may not be worth it for one sheet of Masonite. but you are welcome to it, now or later. It has a shell on it so rain is not a problem. Ruckersville! I can almost through a stone and hit Ruckersville!
You never know about the weather forecast. Tomorrow may work for you. They forecast showers today, but none came and I cut grass for 3 1/2 Hrs. Forecasting showers tomorrow, but who knows.......
Let me know here or by PM if my truck can help.
Hope all our Calif. brethren are OK. Gorgeous day here. I got a tremendous amount done with my young helper who introduced me to a new way to mix concrete - with water balloons... Bride got to Tiffin Ohio.ok too. Off to soccer practice. Where's Jack?

Morning all, it has been hot here all week. Wild fires up in Santa Barbara North of us. Had to change my morning walk of two miles around the neighborhood to going round and round in the park where it is shady. Went shopping yesterday for some summer duds. Guy asked me "how come you are buying clothes for yourself on mothers day week"? I told him I buy clothes every ten years wheather I need them or not. We went out to eat last night at the local eye talian restaurant with our church group. I had chicken marsalla. Baked chicken *** with roasted potatoes in a wine sauce. It was really good but a lot more black pepper than I can tolerate. I'll pay the price for that. Chief is rubbing salt in the wound by telling me all about that good seafood he gets back there like flounder and shrimp. We get halibut here which is a flat fish too but it cost an arm and a leg. Someone mentioned cole slaw. I made some last week but the cabbage must have been too old. On second day the stuff was so hot I had to through it out. Good cole slaw always makes me long for Eastern North Carolina Bar-B-Que or fish. Had a get together Wednesday night with my train buddies at friend's layout. Put my Lionel SP Atlantic through it's paces on his layout running in TMCC which I can't do at home because all I have is DCS. Also fixed broken hand rails around smoke box front with crazy glue. My friend is a Burlington fan and has all those neat 3rd rail Burlington Hudsons (three versions) and the latest 2-10-4 which is a big engine. My buddy also has a scale two rail O gauge trolley layout running around his regular three rail layout. Beautiful hand built trolleys with interiors and figures, overhead lighting etc. It was nice to let someone else play host to our weekly get together for a change. We probably won't do much now until after the month of May due to other obligations we all have.
Brutus, I'm ready for another Tardis ride. Let's go somewhere cool.
Chief, hope you have a ride on mower for all that alfalfa you're growing for a lawn at the lake house.
Have a good day y'all,
DJSpankyLawsonFarmsRRSpank - I have been trying to figure out a second level for my layout. Yours looks great, and something similar would work for me. I need to reach in from all sides to the middle of my 6" X 16' layout. I am curious - are you in VA or NJ?Patrick Both, actually. We're in the process of relocating down to Charlottesville, but still own our home up in NJ.I've got a separate thread going on this viaduct project: unfortunately with all the traveling back and forth the last two months I haven't made nearly the progress I would wish to.

Spank, we are practically neighbors. We are about 40 miles north of Charlotesville in Culpper.
I found your viaduct threads, current and previous. Very informative (and entertaining). Found fife's as well. Sort of a before and after set of threads. Looking forward to seeing your updates.
Morning all.
I haven't had time to post or read posts since I left for York.
Had a great time at York and it was great seeing all the CTT forumites! Spent a lot of time with John F crawling around the fairgrounds. Talking with the CTT guys was fun as always.
Hope everyone is doing well. Work continues to be a bear to wrestle with and long days make it hard to stare at another computer screen after work and late at night.
Have a great day all!
Regards, Roy
Pat ... no I've never had one of those particular kits . But have assisted my bro-in-law on some others . They're all basically the same idea . They take awhile but the results are great .... extremely detailed and realistic compared to snap or glue together units .... but alot more time consuming .
Picked up another skeleton log car by k-line cheap ... for a change ... jordan spreader and hobo jungle arrived by cute mail-lady yesterday ... dullcote went to crap ... I left the lid loose by mistake ... .... had to order more .... just what i need ... am behind weathering now .....
A few days ago I asked why no email notice on thread posts, and then started a thread on this subject. I got several reply's on both, but I didn't do a good job explaining. Here is my answer from the other thread:
I am probably in the minority on this one. I like the email notices because:
1) I answer several threads and it is quicker to read the emails to see if I need to answer any of them. After I answer I delete the email.
2) It is difficult to go to each thread and try to find where my last reading left off, especially the Coffee Pot and SPF threads.
RT - I wander if the past problem you mention was a one time glitch?
DJSpankyMornin' all! Looks like a beautiful day here in VA - too bad they're talking rain showers tonight and tomorrow. I haven't mowed my lawn yet and it's a jungle - almost 2 feet high in some places. Well, I guess I can drag my mower out tomorrow and wash and disinfect it. Then it will be ready for Sunday, which is supposed to be nice. I promised a picture of my using the viaduct platforms even though I don't have them finished or the bridges set up, so here it is:

SJ - If we can get Jon to come and bring his special Baked Beans I will leave no stone unturned until I find Kurt's address!
Repeat question to the Coffee Pot:
Anyone have experience putting together O scale kits by Bar Mills? Frank53 posts on this and "the other" forum and thinks highly of their kits. He has postings of How To put some of them together. I want to try one, but wanted to ask the Coffee Pot your thoughts.
I may have to start a thread on this one.
Happy Friday to everyone, spring has truly arrived, watery eyes and more humidity, YES. One last big state contest for me today and tomorrow--tonight in SW Iowa and tomorrow in NE Iowa, hope Bambi and her parents leave me alone, lots of miles in the dark tonight.
Sometimes I wonder...Why is that frisbee getting bigger?...Then it hits me

So many roads, so little time.
Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It's a cloudy 60 degrees. Going up to 72 today, with a rain shower, maybe.
Today is a busy day. I am running errands again. Two stops and then home. I have a few chores to do and then I am free to relax. Run trains. I need to work on a few train items. Lub and cleaning.
Dining car was here for breakfast and departed for "Points West".
Buckeye....TGIF
Y'all have a great Friday.
Chuck
Morning everyone! Got humbled this morning. Typically, the younger guys will seek out the more experienced for a "Grey Haired Consult". Well, I had difficulty finding a particular marker on a X-Ray on a patient from yesterday. Asked one of the younger surgeons and he pointed it right out....Oh well! We all had a good laugh over that.
Have daughter's recital (ballet) tomorrow. MIL and her husband will be here for that. While they are not on my 'favorites' list, I'll bite the bullet and entertain if for no other reason than it will make the bride happy. Speaking of bride, I need to come up with a good Mother's Day present. I figure flowers and something from Bath and Body Works will be a good start. Have to get back on the good side of purchasing to set the table for more train related purchases.
Chief, congrats to Lucy! I am sure she enjoyed the trips on the golf cart. Does Berg take any trips lately? Also, I bet that was some good vittles you ate there. Not exactly a cardiac diet, but hey, you have to eat sometime and if you enjoy something, more than likely, it is not on the diet anyway.
Well, plan to cut the grass this afternoon. I had planned on leaving an acre or two uncut for the wildlife, but the weeds have over grown them, so I'll cut that back too. Just hope it stays dry this afternoon.
BTW Chief, I see that South Carolina had a minor earthquake...has Don been here to visit? With all the rain, it'd make him into shake and soak!
God Bless,
Dennis

Good Morning
Sun is up, going to 70s.
Kurt, Pat and I were going to meet you for ribs but you forgot to include your address.:)
Going to the train store this morning, got to make sure they remember me in case something I want comes in.
Smile it's friday, but that also means another week has gone by never to return....S.J.
Morning all!
Ribs rubbed, coleslaw made with help of 4-yo, 'n 'da chips are a soakin'.
4-yo interested on going for a bike ride, as she sees all the other kids doing the same, so that's on our list.
A revolving neighborhood happy hour on tap for the evening! Every Monday the Pink flamingo arrives at another house so we can find the Friday party! Need to prepare a dish for that.
Kurt
Morning all. Hard to see with the sunlight hitting the computer screen. Looks like a nice day today - will be busy after the bride leaves for Ohio. Got a long list of things-to-get-done-while-they're-gone. 8ntruck, looks like a perfect week in Bowling Green next week. Charlie, Star Trek got good reviews here. Mike, prayers for your feeling better. TGIF
Good morning all,
IIABSDISEI with temps in the 70s. Good day at work yesterday until innards went south on me again. Did nothing last night except rest. At work today not sure how long. May be an intestinal "bug". Lucas is mowing grass today for me. Hope I shake this off soon. Tired of pain. Sarah 18th quick in practice. Foyt cars 22nd and 23rd. Could be an interesting weekend of time trials at Indy. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Good morning....where is everybody.

Just got home from Star Trek..wow !
Howdy guys - nice out today here in the St. Louis area, but it's going to rain all day tomorrow. Worked, came home, ate dinner, played video games, watched tv with the family, and talked with Sir James for a bit on the computer and then on the phone. Signed up for 6 OT on Saturday, none available on the 16th. 3 Day weekend coming up
Tardis is fueled and I see some beacons and a couple porch lights, plus one bug zapper? Oh - did get another TCA mag today, always interesting. Well, thunder started, so TTFN!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.
I survived somehow, Chief. In fact, I got my wife up into the attic and demonstrated the new locomotive for her.
Interesting story line is developing. Pictures on SPF.
Sunny and low 70's here today. Really nice for a change. I think I'll go out and get some porch time before going to bed tonight.
Heard from my youngest son tonight. He will be coming home early next week to pick up his car. Seems that he has a line on a job in Orlando. He has been staying with a friend there for a bit while looking for a job.
Talked with my friend from Michigan today and sync'ed up our travel plans for the Buick GS Nationals next week, made arrangements for a room and a car. Now all I've got to do is lay low and stay out of trouble tomorrow at work.
Has anybody seen a weather forcast for Bowling Green, KY. for next week?
Dark out now, a little rain this afternoon.
Cleaned the garage and a few other small chores today. Also ran trains for a little while. Ready for Brutus with banilla in hand.
Evening all from beautiful Southern Ohio
It started out wet, then dried up enough to cut my grass. It may be Sunday afternoon before I get o my friend's yard. Been real busy at work and at home. Got the kids down and need to finish the homily for this weekend.
GregM - Check the USEC site, more jobs are going up.
Buckeye - Yes, I had two brown boxes delivered. Nice cars. The paint job is well, interesting, or shall I say unique.
Chief - Grass is one of life's mysteries. You work had to get it to grow only to work hard to cut it down. I wish my friend would get a better mower for his yard.
Good night and may God bless
Jim
Happy birthday to Lucy! Back from open house at kindergarten - quite the important event apparently. Now to work out things (map, etc) for the bride and daughter's foray into mid-Ohio. Then make my own plans...
