PS - thanks for all the prayers for my wife, she's doing great really and they are now just ruling out causes. I told her about the iron exchange program with your wife, Chief :) RT - how is the OT going? Hope you are getting money for windows AND trains!
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Belated Birthday Greetings Doug! Home late last night and just now checkin' in before I leave again. I feel like I know you well since I send you a train gift once a month through the car exchange, sorry about the latest Carolina Cripple, some things I just have not control over
Had a great day yesterday at our annual Conference meeting old friends and hearing amazing groups. Today is our district luncheon (overpriced hotel sandwich buffet but they give us the room) the meeting alone is worth the price--at times it turns into a gigantic roast, super fun. Tomorrow is the conclusion but I typically skip it, nice only being 20 miles to the festivities, it's wonderful being able to sleep at home and just commute in.
It sure is the Monsoon Season here, we have more than enough sub soil moisture in the tanks and would enjoy a nice long dry spell, thundering as I type this.

So many roads, so little time.

Good morning all,
It is sunny for now in SE Indiana, but some more rain may be heading here. Happy Belated Birthday to Doug and Belated Congratulations to Fifedog on the sailing ship! Prayers and admiration going out to RockIsland52 for granddad duty above and beyond. I did a "Chief" again last night (how does he do that everyday?) I mowed most of the yard that was not under water, did weights at the YMCA, fixed supper and cleaned up the kitchen. If it stays dry today, I will finish the yard tonight and get the housework done. Lucas is doing well at his job, and he got his grades. They could have been better (2.6), but they could have been worse. Not going to worry at this point. Wife is feeling a little, but I am still sleeping on couch. I had the regular fare on the dining car. Beacon is lit. I hope everyone has a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Morning all. Thanks for the birthday wishes! I enjoyed the day. Found a few train-related items 'antique-ing' with the bride and the youngest, but the best was the last little store we almost didn't visit - had a secret room behind a sign saying 'old toys' with a layout, all sorts of toy train stuff in great shape - running the gamut from pre-war tinplate through standard gauge up to MPC-era stuff. Decent prices too. Have to go back. Can't wait to run the new Marx lithographed cars. Will photograph them for this weekendGrey and warm today - rained overnight - those storms heading off to Indiana and Ohio. I'm cleaning out storerooms today. TGIF!!

Good Morning
Doug M, sounds like my kind of little store, take me with you. I promise not to touch anything.
Sunny now but like other areas rain is coming back by evening. It looks like a dry summer, thats usually what happens.
No plans for today except some freight car painting. Don't worry, nothing of value. 027 kind of stuff.
Friday the 13th was Wednesday so you can enjoy today.

Evening from the country store. Been working like a Trojan. Got lots done. Remind me NOT to fertilize that grass next year. It was like hay again. Water at the private landing in the parking lot again. Holding it so it will not flood the fields along the Roanoke River down east [they have had lots of rain too].
Now, all you folks in MA and Boston, spell

Good Evening
Lite rain has arrived. Rain till noon tomorrow they say.
I painted the inside of a couple of set cabooses this morning. I want to light them but don't like the light shining through the plastic. Same way with bldgs. lite should shine through the windows not the walls.
I just heard Brutus has a storm overhead, hope they will be ok. The Tardis might be late but he can back it up. Banilla is waiting....S.J.
SJ .... yea he said lightning was upon him .... I agree on the glow in the dark illuminated cabooses and cars .... they have to be painted inside . One would think they were nuked and glowing .... if you did'nt ... LOL . Beacon's lit here ...
Some light rain now.. chatting with Wes and Brutus as I type this...SJ is likley coming over on Sunday to run some trains. Looking forward to that.
Storm rolled over and now in the clear
Reading a book about british railway modeling and those old goods wagons sure are neat. I found some Hornby stuff in OO on ebay, might buy a couple goods cars just to study - might want to come up with something on O gauge in brass or something one day
Tardis is running late - Mike, I'll get you next, SJ already went to bed. We'll all go back and pick him up and see if Laz has any wings or Old Mills left? Don's neighbor needs to be checked up on too, lol!
fifedogAhoy maties. Ahoy English. TGIF!
Fife - Avast you Salty Sea Dog. Congrats on the purchase of the sailboat. Here's wishing you smooth sailing with clear skies and fair winds.
Got a busy weekend again. Sunday I am running to DC to pick up the boy and then off to Morgantown to niece's graduation on Sunday. Lots of driving but it should be a great celebration.
Been crazy busy at work. Can't wait for summer. Only 19 days of school left. Hard to believe the first year is almost over. I'll be glad to have some time away from work. Hoping to take a trip to Maine over the summer. We have not been North to Maine, New Hampshire, and Vermont area in nearly 30 years. Also have a big Anniversary coming up next month, have to do some shopping.
Well, I got to get moving. Need to get a haircut today.
Take care.

Quick stop by this morning...just an attempt to build up my stars...oh wait, they did away with them. Anyway, have a big day here and from the sounds of it, I have a toilet to fix. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Dennis
Mornin' boys. Humid, cloudy and 68 here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Big horse race in town today...maybe the last big horse race in town today. I'll be scrubbing the decks, waxing the gellcoat, and polishing handrails. Also want to refurb an old cockpit hatch with TREX. On the train-related side, my marina faces an ore pier, so I can watch switchers shunt back and forth while I work.
mitchie/cheapclassics - Thank you sirs.
cnw1995 - Antique shops prices on Lionel items around my way make Greenburg Price guide look like the Penny-Saver...good find.
dwiemer - Speaking of pottys, wifey wants old yellow unit in sailboat tossed asap...
Banks - Did you get to the Allegany Fairgrounds?
Fife--I just don't understand why the female gender has no appreciation of antique heads but yet it's important to keep Mama happy, much better for the entire crew
Very quiet right now here, everyone is sound asleep and it's just me, fresh coffee the computer, I like it. The weather cleared during the night and it's a drop dead gorgeous morning with a brisk breeze out of the north with NO humidity.
It's a super great day in Iowa, we are welcoming hundreds of IANG soldiers in three communties today, they have been over in the sandbox for a year. It's great to have these heroes home again, you woke up safely this morning because of folks like this. Time to go polish the bike and get the flag attached
Poor fife, the money pit has begun. Fife please don't misunderstand, I have a boat and motor for fishing and that is why I can relate about expenses. Your boat looks great.
Oh boy lots of rain and a couple of storms overnite, seem to be out of here now but still cloudy.
Brutus and Charlie all the good kids are in bed by eleven. And Charlie tomorrow is still a go. S.J.
jonadel - Wifey not "down" with the yellow....
sir james - At 1/12th the cost of a new sailboat comparable in size, pit not-so-big from where I stand. Like I said, it's all on the plus side. No feelings "bent" either...
