Toots is always ribbing me and yet his isn't done either. Still real warm. Walked to the pond this afternoon around 3. Fish breaking, squirrels runnng up trees and deer tracks over my earlier truck tracks. Later

This weekend, I will finish the new section of it. When will you start yours ???
Good evening all,
It was sunny and in the 70s today in SE Indiana today. I was very busy today. I did the housework, gathered leaves, washed one of the cars, cleaned the gutters, and put up some Christmas lights outside. I am tired. May run some trains tonight. Tomorrow I am going to Indy for a TCA meet and to help one of my daughters with a term paper. I hope everyone had a good day.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana

Glad to hear that they're still around. I remember many a Friday night going over to NYC when the drinking age was still 18 in NY while it was 21 in NJ and putting down a few at McSorley's
Spent the day working on the contract layout, wiring is 98% done, only a couple of building to wire once I scratch build them. Started work on scenry today. A double slope under a pair of trestles, the front one of which will be very difficult since it is built with all the cross bracing in place. I be spending a lot of time working with long forceps and little strips of plaster cloth.

HI GIZ,
Just finished up running trains for the evening. All ran good no pile ups.
JELECTRIC, all right BARRYs going to have a big sale now I bet in afew weeks with all this publisity? Was there a bald headed younger guy there? That was CHARLIE hes a good guy. I might try and watch to see if they have a weekend show tomorrow morning.
DOUG, cool pics of McSORLEYS OLD ALE HOUSE. Yes it is a history lesson if you do go inside. Back in '94 '95 on New Years Eve we went to NYC to run a race at midnite in central park with about 5000 runners, we spent most of the afternoon in MCSORELYs. Neat place lots o history.

I'm so glad to hear that someone else measures their success based upon on pile ups. I thought I was the only one.

It's about time! I hope that the store forcing the employees NOT to say 'Merry Christmas' is behind us too!
I was informed by employees of Fields, Penney's, Sears and others that they can't say 'Merry Christmas' to a customer even if the customer wished them a 'Merry Christmas'.
Most looked like they wanted to and were about to burst by not saying it.

It's November 11, 2006, Veteran's Day and I believe the following pretty well sums it up:
This nation will remain the land of the free only so long as it is the home of the brave. ~Elmer Davis
Thank you to all of our past and present Veterans..
Good morning everyone. I'm looking forward to going to Trainland to meet Jerry Calabrese today! My wife's coming too, that should be a good thing as she's been following the Lionel story along with me and she, at least, is familiar with it as an icon whereas I'm a 'furriner' who just got into it.
I am really hoping to see and hear some interesting stuff today and I hope it won't be so crowded we can't browse, its usually a zoo on weekends anyway.
Spent last night adding more details to my repainted 8303 which is looking good. I can't find any pictures of a real Atlantic that looks close to it - I know its a 'made up' engine - I want to add brake shoes and chassis details, anyone know of a loco type that is pretty close in appearance?
Mike Dench.
Good Morning everyone. Hope y'all are doing well. Not much happening these parts. MIL is on the way, so what free time I would have had, is now work time and honey do's. As I can't work on the layout, I figure it will give me time to think out a few issues with the layout. I think I have about every square inch of the layout covered with regard to structures, etc. Now what I need are people and vehicles.
Thor, have a great day and tell Jerry I said "HI", he doesn't know me from Adam's house cat, but I figure I will probably never meet him anyway. I do think he is doing a good job at the helm and hope that he continues to expand Lionel's offerings and availability.
Laz, if that was me at McSorley's having lunch, there would be no way I could make a midnight run I would be either passed out on the floor, or already in bed. We used to hit them when I was with the Fire Department on Parades...you just went there. Great place.

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a warm 62 degrees, but raining slowly. Going up to 70 today and probably a shower on and off.
It is Veteran's Day and I would like to say Thank You to all of the Vets of past and present.
Today, I have a few chores to do, and then will work on the train layout. I have to run trains too. I need the fun time.
Time for breakfast in the Dining Car. Later.
Y'all have a great Saturday
Good morning all.
I hear that Trainland has a few things going on so I'll probably chech that out a little bit later. Right now, the son and I are going to basement for a Saturday morning run on the train layout.
Have a good day all.
Good morning everyone,
First off, I want to thank all of the Veterans today. Without you, I couldn't be living the free life that I am now. Thanks for the courage when facing the hard times, and for not backing down at all.
I had a lot of people here last night, and we were watching TV, playing XBOX360, eating pizza, and just talking. Everybody whent home at about midnight, since they all lived in the neighborhood
Hope everyone has a good day.
Morning all. Wife is cooking breakfast. Off to Miss Edna's. Hope this cold is breaking up [ugly stuff coming up, pew]. Pretty outside. Might get close to 80 again today. Need to take shade cloth off of greenhouse but fan was coming on all day yesterday [set on 90]. Suppose to be a Yankee invasion tomorrow, cold rain and high around 50!!!!! Have a good one.
BTW: layout contest is gone again???????
Good morning,
Laz, I'll bet you guys were in great shape to run at midnight after spending the afternoon at McSorley's. Could you find the finish line? I don't think Barry ever runs sales, he is like Walmart, everyday low prices.
Chief, I took my shade cloth off about 2 weeks ago. Yesterday it was 79 in the greenhouse. Turned the heat off and opened the door. Forgot it till about 11:30 last night.
Well it has started, Jean put up the Christmas tree last night. This morning she had me drilling holes along the drive and walk to insert the pipes that hold up her candy canes. She likes to do the outside decorating while it is still warm. She does all the decorating and I rig up the cords & timers.
Got a new engine this week, a PRR H-3 by MTH. The H-3 was an early consolidation type from the late 1800's. Used up to about 1920. Bought it new in the box for a really good price from a seller I trust on the bay.
All have a good weekend and remember the vets.

Good Morning Everyone !!
Yep, Buckeye, that really does sum it up !! My favorite is, "These Colors Don't Run" !!
Working on my scenery today & ran across The Laying of the Wreath at Arlington on C-Span. Lots of good band playing & hymns !!
Well, hope everyone has a nice weekend & thanks to the Vets again !!
Thanks Dennis, in fact thats exactly what I said to him "Good job!" and I met another Mike from Long Island though I'm sure there were others of this forum there.
I was impressed with Jerry Calabrese, he was obviously a bit pressed by well wishers, rivet counters and who knows what else but he spoke to my wife and I about the Hogwarts set and how much they're hoping it will do well and how if it does they'll make more locos and the proper rolling stock.
He knew all about Hornby and said that he's hoping to emulate their success and thanked me for "becoming a Lionel guy" when I explained how I'd made the transition and how much we were rooting for them.
I wish I could meet him in a less frenetic setting, he seems interesting and sincere.
I bought a tipping wagon for the kid to load with M&M's and another oval of FastTrack and a manual turnout so we can run two main lines and a siding.
It was an absolute zoo, I bet Trainland makes a pile of dough judging by the amounts going out the door and lots of deliriously happy kids and well, train folk, the best folk of all.
Jon
So many roads, so little time.
jonadel,
love the video. That Shay really puts out the smoke too. Thanks for sharing.
How do you do that, by the way? I mean how do you get your video to youtube? Do you download from the camera to your computer with a USB cable? I gotta try this.
Evening all!
The City of Dallas Veteran's Day parade we marched in was fun for the scout troop. We pretty much made a day of it. Great day, sunny, but not too cold (high about 55). Took the boys and participating adults for pizza afterward. Lots of verterans participating in and attending the parade. Not a lot of Scout troops participating , likely since there are quite a few local community parades. Parade route was over 2 miles (away from the parking area) and then we walked back to the cars. Wouldn't have been too bad, but we had also spent around 2 hours standing/walking around in the parade formation area before the parade started. Lots of the vets and active military attending thanked us for being in the parade. We have done the Dallas parade irregularly in the past, but we decided this year to make it an annual event.
Have a great evening all!
Regards, Roy
It is dark and cold in SE Indiana with temps heading to the 30s tonight. I had a nice time at the TCA meet. Met some old friends and made some new acquaintances. I did not buy anything, but it was nice just to visit. I helped my daughter with her research. That lasted quite a while. I got home a little later than I planned. Lucas had a nice day with his girl friend. Tmcc man, I am glad to hear you had a good game and that your team won. I hope everyone had a good day.
