Good Morning All from NE Ohio
where the temp is 54 deg and headed to 78 with Blue Clear Skies.
Thanks guys. GregM - we will have to see how demanding the new job will be. My new boss called last night with a heads up that on Tuesday I will be in the MotorCity, so I won't make the museum that night.
But here is one of the good news things, the plant is only a couple of blocks from here
I will be driving over this bridge every day. The plant is only 5 blocks from here. Looks like a great place to have lunch.
Anyone wish to guess what this is?

Tom, Congratulations on the new job. I'm really happy for you.
Is your new job on the east side of Cleveland near the fuel stop for the CSX? Your fuel bill should be reduced and you will have a shorter drive.
Mrs. Buckeye and I are heading home today from Colorado. It has been a great trip and we rode two trains and visited the old Rio Grande Southern line in SW Colorado. I hope to have some photos to post.
My camera bit the dust yesterday, so I'm needing a new digital camera. My old one was a refurbished HP. Suggestions appreciated.
We stayed with good friends in SW Colorado. They have retired to that area of the country. Their home is built from timbers salvaged from the Great Salt Lake trestle. The salt water preserved the wood, but the porcupines are starting to chew on some of the timbers.
See you down the tracks,

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....
It is a cool 58 degrees and sunny. Going up to 80 today and sunny all day. That's a beautiful day.
Tom...I would have to guess that we are looking at the Collinwood yards in Cleveland, OH. Looks a little different from the last time I saw it. Years ago. That would be a fun lunch.
Well, today is a slow day. Got all the grass cut and am working on a few small projects. Glue and fix. I think I will take some pictures. The sky is sure a pretty blue this morning. We finally got some nice tomatoes out of our little garden, that the wife planted while I was just home from the hospital. Came out good. Also, got some white corn from a farmer down the road. Looks good. Apples are expensive and scarce around here.
Yes, Chief, I have to start getting off the " Dead healing horse ". It was fun, though. Got a lot of attention. I still have a few pains in my side, but nothing like before. Have to watch that I don't overdue it. That's easy to do when you feel good. It's great to feel good again.
Well, off to the Dining car. Breakfast. Only one there. Peaceful.
Y'all have a great day.
Chuck
Hi GIZ,
Feels like fall today. Went down to the low 50s last nite and to get to 79 today.
What a great day. Going to try a run later today heel still sore but with two days off should be ok for a short run.
Going to run some trains later?
All have a good one.

Morning guys,
The wife is working today, so I am home with the kids. Watching the "Pokey", NS Pocohantas division trains, lots of action with mostly coal trains. Good combo of modern diesles and older units going through mountain tunnels and passes. It is on "Trains and Locomotives" on RFD. If I had the room, it looks like a great area to model. They get into a lot of operations and bring on lots of helper engines. Several SP units.
Had a nice call from the Chief last night. The trip to Wilmington passes through some pretty country, hope he enjoys the ride. Always good to get together with family. Time is too short not to enjoy our loved ones.
Went to Hobby Lobby with the 40% off coupon, ended up buying some razor knife stuff and a miter box. For those into the Halloween decor, they did have some pieces that may add to your layout.
Have a blessed day.
Dennis
PS: Buckeye, I think you would do well with many of the cameras out today, but I personally prefere the Kodak Easyshare for most work. It is easy to use, and takes some good quality photos. On the higher end, I am a fan of the Nikon D70.

Don, Take a look at www.julestoytrains.com . He makes ceiling mount systems that are compatable with both "O" and "G" gauge track.
Laz, Watchout for that heel, consider getting it checked to make sure it's only a maybe a bruise and not a bone spur causing the irritation. Cortesone injections in the heel aren't fun.

Boy, miss a day and two more pages have been added.
I think it is time to start thinking about what the Chief is going to do to celebrate the 1000th page. Maybe have us all down to NC for a cookout!
Don, Yes the 13 year old is tall. Not sure exact height as you would have to measure him once a week to keep up. I do know that he has passed me at 5'-8" a while back. He takes after his mother & other grandfather. He also outshoots me at trap and rifle. The 11 year old takes after his Dad & me. I will send you some info on hangers to fasten to beams via email.
Colin, There is someone on another thread looking for a loco to be ID'ed. Just your cup of tea.
Tom, Nice scenery on the way to work.
The boys did well at the show yesterday. When I get the pics uploaded I will share a few with you.
Did run the trains a little today to make sure they still work. Continuing to work on the doll house project.

Yes, John, we could all take some tools and build him his benchwork. I know he would appreciate guys from Ohio and Northern areas doing his carpentry work. No GRITS would be allowed.
That overhead stuff looks pretty cool, but it might be a pain to clean? Could you make your own from some threaded rod, some aluminum pipe to hide the rod, and some plywood cut to match the track with a router and a guided bit? It would definitely be cheaper and you could also do any diameter turn etc that you wanted.
Got out and started trimming at 9 - late enough I figured the neighbors wouldn't be too mad at me. Got the lawn all cut, including the area that I had cleared under my trees, by 11:30. Ate lunch with the kids and now watching a movie during the hot part of the day. I was going to work in the basement, but I got so tired after mowing, I figured I needed to rest for a while and think about trains and stuff.
RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Chuck, The grits could serve double duty:
#1. Breakfast
#2. The leftovers could be used as ballast, replace the
traditional plaster cloth.

Sounds good, except I think I'll skip breakfast. Yuck.
Good evening all,
It was a beautiful day in SE Indiana as the temps were in the high 70s. I reffed two youth soccer games this morning, rested some this afternoon and then mowed the yard. I visited my mom in the hospital this afternoon as well. She feels some better, but they are going to do more tests tonight. I saw my grandson for the first time Friday night. He slept most of the of time I was there, but I had a nice visit with the son-in-law and daughter. Tomorrow I am going to the Kentucky Speedway to watch the ol' rim rider, Sarah Fisher, take on "Tropical Storm Danica" in the IRL race. They start next to each other in the sixth row. It will be interesting to see who gets more applause from the crowd.
I hope everyone had a good day and has a better tomorrow.
Keep on training,
Mike C. from Indiana
Evening all!
Kids are off at a weekend church camp so the missus and I have had the house and our time to ourselves .
Spent a pleasant day picking up a few things, saw Pirates of the Caribbean (fun ), and had a nice Mexican food dinner.
Watching the Cowboys on first preseason game. Hope Tony Romo gets some reg season game playing time this year. Bledsoe is just immobile and if the Off line cannot hold he is toast.
Kids start school Monday.
Daughter (15) is learning to drive . Let her drive my pickup the other night - yikes!.
Have a great evening all!
Regards, Roy
We're back home in Buckeyeland after a great vacation in New Mexico and Colorado. We rode the Rio Grande through the Royal Gorge and the Durango and Silverton's open gondola car. Stopped at Charma, NM and saw the railyard of the Cumbres and Toltec.
Roy, we also paid a visit to Philmont Scout Ranch where I was a camper 29 years ago. Talk about an area of the country that has not changed.
I'll post some photos on Sunday.
See ya down the tracks.
BTW, look at my signiture below. On Friday morning I was at over 10,000 feet above sea level gasping for air.
Roy, The first driving lesson I gave to my daughter almost gave me my first heart attack.
Came across an interesting posting on another forum, actually sounds like very good news. See what you think.

Buckeye - good to see you back and safe in our great state of Ohio.
You buckeye boys are good. Yep that was the Collinwood yards. We will be stoping by them tomorrow at lunch time.
The trip to the MotorCity is to look over some tooling, so no new company car yet. But a new Hemi Crossfire would be fun.
It is a sunny 57 degrees and going up to 82 and sunny. That is perfect weather. I will enjoy it.
Today, I have a few small jobs to do, but mainly, I will take it easy and enjoy the day. I think I will go for a walk with the " boys ".
Buckeye...Glad to see you and the Mrs. home safely. Sounds like you enjoyed your vacaion very much. Looking forward to the pictures.
Tom...Post a lot of pictures, if you can , of Collinwood yards.
Well, I am off to the Dining car for breakfast. Be back later.
HI GIZ,
Really nice again here to get to 83.
Last nite watched the PERSEIDS (shooting stars) til 1015. Only saw 6 but some with nice long tails.
BUCKEYE glad you had a nice trip. Sounded fun.
DANRUNNER, I know that feeling of discouragement, but you'll be back stronger then ever. Most of this is mental and you'll pull through one step at a time.
DOUGDAGRUMP, I think the heel problem is from running too hard downhill. Too much heel flopping. Seems better today?
MARTY, as I get older it seems that I wake up with the first light and seem to get tired after 9 oclock. Oh well not as young as I once was going to be 50 in Jan 1.
Ran trains for about 40 minutes last nite before shooting stars.
Hi Everyone !! Just home from work & couldn't wait to get over to see The Sunday Photo pics. !! What a day yesterday was ! I broke another brake line on the way to Erie, came home & miraculously fixed it after driving more with no brakes ! Got to Erie a few hours later, but didn't get to the Museum in Northeast Pa. for some good pictures there I have been wanting to get. Maybe next time. It's just a few miles east of Erie, but they have some nice stuff there. One place in Erie always has the diecast cars for 4 & 5 dollars. Got a couple ! At Train City, I got a set of MTH trestles, box of 8 bran new for only 14 dollars !! Don't know how much they retail for but now I can put in another loop or tie it in somewhere, somehow !! Oh, & then around 9 at night, I got called in to work. Q112 had a brk. beam down & so I went & burned the rest of it down & they got going. That was good for another 4 hr. overtime call, & only was gone for a couple hours !!
Well, hope everyone is having a nice day !!
