Yep he has, but it is in restoration, if I understood the message.. Today I visited a hobby and garden shop, and they sold LEMAX. It's only around at x-mas shows, but since x-mas shows start by the end of oktober here, they have it on display a few weeks a year.
I found a 0-gauge railway crossing light set, which will go nice with the trains after some tinkering on the on and of switch. I'm planning to do that by a relay like in the dec issue. the train will switch the lights on and of by passing a section of isolated outside rail. With that I don't need any switches between the rails and the signal will turned off after the last car has crossed..
The people however are much too big to fit on the layout...

Good Morning All,

NE Ohio is having another outstand day, Blue Clear Sky with temp at 48 and going to 58 with allots of sun. The same as yesterday. Maybe we can fini***he outside xmas lights today. Yesterday was doing the last of the leaves, last grass cutting of the season, getting out the snow blower, as soon we will be needing it, and starting to put up the outside light.

We even started the Christmas village for under the tree, but ran out of energy by that time. She just work me too hard outside.

Well Shutterfly is down for maintenance this morning so we will pick something from the web page.

Good morning everyone!

I had a great time at the train show yesterday. There were a lot of nice layouts, but they were all HO and N except for an O gauge layout displayed by some friends of mine and an AF S gauge layout. I had been thinking that I needed something better to run my layout with, so I got a KW transformer from a dealer that sells a lot of postwar Lionel, plus practically everything else. I also got a couple of Lionel cars from him. There was one man at a table who had a Marx and a Lionel set for sale. The Lionel set happened to be the one with the very rare Wix Filters boxcar! I already had a Wix boxcar, but it had a crack in it and the end of the catwak was broken. This one is in fine shape, except that it needs a cleaning. It was marked at only $30! The rest of the set had a gondola car and caboose for $10 each and a 246 steam engine and tender with a broken front with no price on it. I was going to just buy the Wix boxcar, but then noticed that the caboose happened to be in the hard to find coral pink colour, so I decided to get it, too. The guy then told me that could take the whole set for $50, so I did.

@ sask, that's the nice thing about train meets and swaps. You can always have a chance of finding something very special.

Today was a nice autumn day, with sunshine and no wind. That's normal when I have to work.. Take care all..

Sask, a KW will do it. I have two KW's. One is used and one was new in the box [bought it at a show a couple of months ago]. It had been on a back shelf at a Firestone Tire Store that use to sell Lionel trains. Store finally closed and this guy saw it and bought it to resale. It still has a good cord. Feel sorry for all you guys that have to go back to W--K or S----L. [:D] Later and God bless.

Good Morning all,

NE Ohio is a cool 40 deg at 6:00am. What a great weekend weather we had for this time of the year. Got a lot of outside work done, leaves, last grass cutting of the season, started to put up Christmas lights, about half done with that. Even started to do the inside Christmas village for under the tree.

Well Chief, I may be at work this week, but I much rather be here than trading places with you. Good luck with it.

Here is part of our hard weekend work.

Chief, that's a great verse, and we'll continue to pray for you. Tom, I want to get out the Christmas stuff but my wife says it's way too early. Did finally get all the leaves off the lawn - left 'em under the bushes and trees - I'm just too tired to go after them all. A nice blue-sky cold day here - had to dig out a scarf for the wait for the train into the city - saw a nice sunrise - like a sunset in reverse - pink, then orange clouds, then the sun beams - I'm going to the library later to copy some of the pictures from the Riddle 'electrics' book which I continued to study this weekend. I'm building a tank farm using some large coffee cans and used-out asthma inhalers...

Good Morning everyone ! Hope everyone is fine Today. Looks like Spankybird has a fine Christmas layout for this year . It should make Santa very happy[:D] A Trolley would be a nice addition to it . One year I had a San Francisco Trolley on the inner loop under the tree & my Fathers 1688 freight set on the larger oval surrounding the trolley loop powered by a ZW . I had the Red Rotary beacon set up along with a 450 signal bridge ( 1988 version) 2154 highway flasher,The operating switch tower from 1984,And a 2163 Block Signal . This was one of the nicer layouts under the Tree. And it would have been about 12 years ago,Boy time sure flys it does not seem that long ago already. Everybody have a nice day and Cheerio ![8D] Later......Keith

Doug, you have the right ideas. I've used old cans for tanks, plastic cores from caculator tapes for loads and even little bottles from Albuterol to use in your nebulizer as milk cans. Go for it man.

Chief, That last info proves that model railroaders are environmentally friendly. Just think of how many household discards have been recycled into our layouts. [:D]

Evening in Holland now. Tonight will be the first frost this autumn/ winter. The central heating is buzzing, the floors are nice and warm and a pot of coffee is on. Let the cold day's begin!
Today has a hard days work. Technicians know that problems all come at once, today was such a day.. Since I'm hired to fight the effects and get equipment running...
Cable rips somewhere in the middel of a casepacker, a casecloser with a slightly too high resistance in one of the 20 door safety contacts resulting to drop the safety switch after a few seconds each time.. A frequency controller blown out, and not the same type in stock, the new one had to be setup completely all over again, connections figured out to fit the new one..
So I'm happy to be home again.. My speed controller project stalls with that.. (I'm allowed to fiddle for myself a bit when everything runs smooth.. the factory earns the biggest money if I sit on my but[:D], it means no machine failed..)

Anyway.. Hope your day is a bit less hectic..
Stay safe and healthy.. and if your not, get it.

Stay warm Daan. Do I sue Traget and the Digital Thermometer Co. ???? Well, Pam bought a new digital thermometer from Traget last night. Tested it and it said I had a temp of 100.0. Well, did not feel like I had temp. This AM, it read 99.5 and then an hour later, 100.2. went to Dr. Temp on her's was a couple of tenths below normal. She did tests and drew blood. Came home and just took temp, 100.0. Pam felt of me and she said you are cool. Took temp with old regular thermometer and 98.2. Wasted half a day and a doctor's visit because of faulty thermometer. Almost canceled my surgery because of it. Not too happy. Lets hope the heart surgeon works better than the digital thermometer. [;)]

Hey Chief,

If you keep the temp up, they won’t do the heart operation.

BTW – out east of us into NY state, they are having lake effect SNOW.

Sun is shining and I would have to wax the car before winter kicks in.. The only problem is the temperature outside. Can I borrow your meter chief? Then it doesn't seem that cold outside..[:D]

Good Morning all,

Cool but dry in NE Ohio, temp at 38. Some areas east of us had light lake effect snow showers last night. Nothing were I live, but we are ready for it.

Chief, if you are still running a temp, they won’t do the by-pass surgery. Hope you are felling better.

What a saga, Chief! The kids would love you though! The joke would be on them. My wife is a pediatric nurse and doesn't trust the cheap digital thermometers - I think she can tell their temperature by just looking at them! Of course those thermometers are the only ones you can buy these days...And she's home-schooling the kids so it's hard for them to con their way into a day 'off'. Supposed to be warmer today - but I don't trust the forecast. It was certainly cold this morning. The paper mentioned the 'northern lights' or aurora borealis could be seen this way on Sunday night and perhaps again tonight - I thought I saw a shimmering green sort of screen or curtain as I drove my daughter to church that night. Or maybe it's from an Area 51 train set. As I get home late from work today (11 pm), I'll have to keep my eyes open - there's not that much light pollution out our way.

Good Morning everybody! Chiefeagles sounds like you're in a tough bind.Hope the surgeons will be able to help you out so that you feel much better soon.Hi Doug. Maybe California could charge visitors a fee to experience a earthquake and the money can be used for the state's budget woes[(-D] Sounds like a place the Munsters would love to live in.[:D] If a Earthquake does happen hopefully you'll get through it fine.Hello Spankybird. When I get a free evening I'll call you to see your Layout. I forgot to thank you for the invite yesterday.Hope everyone has a nice day.Later..........Keith.

Tummy was cutting up this AM but NO fever. Had haircut to get as might have pretty nurses in ICU. Other errands to do. Fog boat motor as will not get to use for a couple of months. Eaten and feel a lot better. Ready to get his over with. He Doug, Mom and I use to sit in the car in the winter [so we could have heat] and watch the Northern Lights. We lived down east [NC] and away from big city lights back then. Still darker than it is around this part of the state as not that many big cities down there. Too many lights now to see them here. Thanks for all the good wishes. God bless all of you.

A couple of months ago, during some really funky weather, the northern lights were even visible out in the dessert east of San Diego. Not real bright but still visible, very rare phenomonen for SoCal. [8D]
