Hello All! Dave- I wonder if the Kooks are disappointed whenever their predictions of the Worlds End fails to happen? [;)] Right now they are probably throwing Darts at a Spinning Wheel to predict another date for the end of the World in case tommorrow's prediction fails.[;)][:o)] Some folks are not happy unless they're miserable & that's who these people are. & like Spanky said we made it past 1706,1806,1906, & now 2006 is here. I'm just sitting here in the dark waiting for the earth to end today because CBS, NBC, ABC and the New York Times said it was going to happen. [:(]

Are you guys sure that the Chief is only 60? For a long time I thought he was about 140 since he can remember the War of Southern Aggression so vividly. [:D]

Chuck, I thought you should know that while I was in the South last week, I ate no grits and drank no sweaty tea. In fact, the hotel did not serve grits for breakfast because of the oil shortage. They have discovered that grits are a great replacement for asphalt pavements. [dinner] [(-D] The only problem is that a certain hard core southern gentleman, and I use that term loosely, has been stealing portions of the roadway near Roseyville.[:D]

Roseyville Town Board meeting was long. Why? Because they let a developer get by without doing something we had ordered him to do. I chewed on them for letting that happen. Then I got on their case because they did not want to put needed controls on a piece of property owned by one of the Town's old patriarchs. Too many on there that are part of the old "family". Two big screw ups. Mowed everyone's grass today. Now off to bed.

Good morning folks. Cool and clear here in Gettysburg.

LAZ , TomS and other educators- repeat after me......I think I can.. I think I can... I think I can....

Only 3 to go. The local high schools are all going to be on lockdown for the day as there have been some rumblings of trouble regarding the date. Don't think we'll be on lock down. As far as I can tell this AM the Apocalypse hasn't started yet [}:)][;)] The cooler weather seems to have kept things calmer. Haven't suspended anyone in about a month. I must be losing my touch...[;)][;)][;)][;)]

Yesterday jonadel mentioned the 3 best reasons for a teacher to stay in education today.... June, July and August. Those same three reasons keep school based administrators from climbing up on the roof and jumping off[:p][:p][:p][:p]. Can't wait till next week when the teachers ( and students) are gone. I'l miss them after about two weeks, but I'm ready for some relax time. I hope to take a few days off next week.

Have a great day.

[banghead] Went to dentist for 6 month visit & several cavities despite flossing, Listerine, brushing all day. Wish I had those fake chompers and wouldn't need to worrry about teeth any more. The mouth has become a money pit & insurance won't even cover the major stuff like crowns and implants.

Never been sick in my life & will be 50 next april but teeth suck!

I could build a railroad empire on the money I've spent.

Oh, and happy birthday chief; hope your teeth are fine

[code]Good Morning from Blueberryhill[/code]It is 49 degrees, a little cool, and sunny. Going up to
82 today and staying sunny. Nice day forecast.
Well, looks like all the teachers are getting ready for summer vacation. They are as
excited about being off, as the kids are. Don't blame them.

Buckeye..I heard that all the roads around Roseyville have turned to
gravel, due to the lack of GRITS. Must have been a big party somewhere.

I have a few things to do around the house today. Have to change a faucet on the
kitchen sink. Old one is shot.
I think I will run some trains this afternoon. I have to rout the tunnel portals out yet
and work on scenery. No pressure.
I'm off to breakfast. Talk later.
Y'all have a great day.

Good morning all,

It is sunny and mild in SE Indiana with temps in the low 80s. A much belated Happy Birthday to the Chief! I practiced some soccer last night with the high school kids. They are just too fast, but I can still make some good moves against them on occasion. I have a class the next two days and so I am not sure how much I can post then. I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Hey Mitch,
I am jealous that you have only 3 days left. We have 2 more weeks after this week. I hope you and Laz and the rest that are finishing up this week have a great ending. It will be nice when everyone is gone.

Have a good one.

Good morning,

A beautiful morning here. I plan to houseclean the greenhouse today. Now that all the plants are out I can get rid of all the junk and be ready for fall.

Sounds like all the educators are ready for a break. Can't blame them, I probably wouldn't last a week in that job.

Have a good one all.

Drat, woke up this morning at 6:06 just to be sure - and I'm still here and the world is still turning... The bride volunteered me to help do a few unspecified handyman projects tonight after work for a single parent family not too far from our home. Hope I don't uncover anything nasty. So much for toy-training on one of my few Tues nights 'off.' Ah well. Have a good day. Kids are out of school here as of last week. Not here at the college though - Summer term begins Monday. [;)]

Hello Mr and Mrs America and All the Ships at Sea - Flash: End of World not what it's cracked up to be! Thousands of reporters, eager to be the first with the correct prediction, mourn. Ashes and sackcloth are the fashion of the day. Some have been reputed to have turned to the Good Book for answers, but sources say they are being shunned as Pariah in their community. One reporter, who asked that his name be withheld, indicated that biblical ignorance and wild speculation are cherished traditions and any fool who actually blows the dust off their bible (!) or falls for that old time religion (!) will find themselves quickly in a ring of fire(d)!

Now, back to the regularly scheduled hysterical predictions of Global Warming, the Coming Ice Age, and another special on the Gnostic Gospels!

PS - picked up some Halloween buildings on ebay for my layout - some Spooky Hollow houses (left some, Doug W!) and the matching Train Station!

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

well, we're counting down the hours till the end of 666 day.

Wait, is that a group of people over there I see who've sold all their worldly possessions and are waiting on a hilltop to prepare for the Rapture?

Nope, just a line of people waiting to purchase Beeps, Peeps, Beefs and Bleeps[:D]

The noise in my backyard is terrible, esp. this time of year when my neighbors' air conditioning units all kick in--and they're ALL located facing my yard (what are the odds?!).

And the other day, my neighbor put in an electric 5000V fence b/c Oscar, his dog, jumps over the 6-ft. fence. That gives a very irritating clicking sound continuously. (he had his wife test the fence and she let out a scream)

Wi***here was more peace and quiet as I labor on my outside garden RR.

Maybe I'll bring a radio out and turn up the volume on some Led Z or better yet, some Iron Maiden.

Laz, as we count the remaining hours, let's look at a more serious subject, the wreck of a beer train. Sorry the news from Reuters is a few months old...

Police battle looters after beer train crashes

1 person killed at site of South Africa derailment

Updated: 8:45 a.m. ET Aug 22, 2005

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa - Hundreds of looters battled police all weekend at the site of a beer train wreck in violence that left one woman dead, South African police said on Monday as they kept a heavy guard on the remaining alcohol.

The train carrying 180,000 crates of beer from South African Breweries derailed on Friday night near Waterval Boven, 124 miles east of Johannesburg, Superintendent Izak van Zyl said.

By Saturday morning, police were battling up to 200 people from the nearby township trying to make off with crates of beer.

Morning all. Phone has been busy with Roseyville business [board members making up and trying to justify their vote [;)]].

Important: Lot of good men lost their lives on this date in 1944.

Had a shower of rain this AM. [:)] David, seems they fuss about BB, maybe you should complain about their noise. [;)] Off to Raleigh to the stir fry buffet and then Miss Edn's to drop off squash. Later

Good afternoon,

QUOTE: Sorry it took so long to check in. The last williams conversion I Did I used DD . You will notice a real BIG difference if you install a baffle over the speaker. I used a small plastic cup bottom or you could use a spray paint lid. I also siliconed it around the speaker to fully radiate the sound downward through the holes. Maybe I can post some pics later if anyone wants. Also make sure the volume on your cab 1 is all the way up.........Tim

Thanks Tim, I used a small spray paint lid, cut down in height to fit and the sound is now so loud that I have to turn the volume down. What a difference. I used hot melt glue to fasten and seal the baffle.

Almost done with the greenhouse cleanup, too hot to fini***his time of day.

Jim, Congrats on the new .

Enjoy the day,

Should have known..... The information here is always better... On an upgrade I did the sound was really low, so I mad a baffle using a paper towel do-ta-do, (core). It really made a big improvement, took the length all the way up to the vent opening. Now if I would have used plastic instead of cardboard, I'm sure the sound would have been even better. More resonance than with the cardboard.

Good luck with the spring cleaning.

Don
