Roger, Early last month while I was sitting and waiting for my car to go thru a smog check there was a fairly lenghty article in either "Mechanics Illustrated" or "Popular Mechanics" regarding this new loco from GE. Seems like they have really gone high tech with this one. Unfortunately I can't remember which issue it was.

A very nice day in NE Ohio, with Blue Clear Sky, temp 68 deg and going to have a high of 78 with no rain. Looks like a great day. We will be off to a city wide flea market today. We always find good stuff for the train layout there, or at least some die cast cars.

We're enjoying beautiful weather in Lower Alabama today - low humidity, mild temperatures and a gentle breeze. It's been a nice day for yard work. We should have another day or two for nice weather before the heat and humidity return with a vengeance. Fall doesn't arrive down here until late October or early November.

Good Morning all,

It’s another great morning in NE Ohio with Blue Clear Sky and temp of 65 going up to 78 today.

Today we have a family reunion to go to. First one in about 20 years, just a little over due. All the other ones have been with a dead body at it.

We got a notice from our cable company that next month we will have ‘ON DEMAND’ TV. It’s like they record it, and you can watch a program when you want. So no more setting the vcr to record in the middle of the night. Can watch it the next day, at the time we want. Sound cool to me.

Great day here. Still cooler than usual. Got some spare train parts and a like new KW with original box and instructional sheet. Had never been sold. Found when closing out an old store [Firestone tire store and general store]. Even the cord is OK [just a little stiff] and still has Lionel plug. Two KW's will really "juice" up a layout. Then I have all those 80W bricks to run accessories and small switching yards. Should be set in that line. God bless all.

Chief, that KW sounds like a great find! I have one and I'm looking for another one on Ebay to give me all that I need for my small layout. The first one I found was like new (cord and rollers were replaced) with original box and instructions. I've got a couple of 1033s for accessories if I need them down the road.

A little about myself , I'm an engineer on a shortline RR thats not so short ,And I have collected the GOOD STUFF since 1966. I live in central Indiana and fish,hunt {birds} and race along with the Railroad thing that we all enjoy!

when I worked for GATX rail we bought a yard engine from LTE in Warren Oh. about two years ago.Looked like old NYC stompin' ground to me!!!
Now you guy's have to know I have one off day,,,Tuesday ,So depending on when I get called out I sometime dissapear for 5 or 6 day's lately I've been called for 0500 but I guess things are slow today becouse I've not been called yet!

[OH, Buggs Island Lake is Kerr Lake. Those VA. folks don't know anything and the guy is from NC] RICHMOND, VA—For the second time in two months, the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries' State Record Fish Committee has certified a new state record blue catfish.

William Zost of Roxboro, North Carolina, caught the 92-pound, 4-ounce blue cat on cut gizzard shad in late June on the Virginia portion of Buggs Island Lake. It measured 50½ inches in length and had a 391/2-inch girth. Zost's fish easily broke the state's previous blue cat record of 75 pounds, 4 ounces, caught by Vernon McCann on Virginia's Chippokes Creek on April 30.

Bet that was a tug on his line. [:D]

Low temp here this am was 47, but is up to 83 now, 40 percent humidity.Got all the hay put up, and almost have that large barn finished. Dr John..I may be in Mobile in Oct. to visit the Parents (Citronelle) and my brother is building a new house in Wilmer , right off US98, he bought 5 acres on a lake there. If I had time I would go down and build it for him,but I have too much snow to plow here in the winter. Will let you know as things develop. Perhaps we can get together for a couple hours....Tim

No 47 degrees here and no 40% humidity either. Trimmed shrubs and trees all day. Soaked. Fini***omorrow morning and then haul the trimmings away in pickup. Will have to ride to see train lady [she is closed on Sunday and Monday [Monday she fishes]. Both bulbs in MTH NS extended vision caboose blew. Why don"t they set a standard for bulbs. Got tons of extra bulbs but none like those. Had some lower wattage ones that would work and I may like them as not as BRIGHT.

Be careful of what valtage bulbs you use. Some of the older caboose use lower voltage one, like around 14 volts. With DCS you are at 18 to 22 volts. Maybe that's why the blew.

Well hello guy's,,Just got in from a CSX interchange in Sullivan In,,,,A simple job,,,,Should have took Maby 8 hours,,,,Took us 12. The Chicago to Nashville main was jumppin' tonite!! SB dispatcher couldn't let us on the main for 4 hours.
The yard was full no place to switch out our train so it had to be put away in 10 car increments, I had 56 cars going to CSX and 68 commingh back!

Chief, double check the voltage on your bulbs. Remember, now you are at 18 volts, some of the older caboose used 14 volt bulbs.[B)]

Temporarily suspended work on my layout until my screenplay and novel are written and I figure out where I want to move to next. I'd like to design my own house and run a thick "I" beam across the basement ceiling to avoid posts everywhere. Better that way for my train layout and so I don't bump into a pole if I have one beer too many.

Still eating wild blackberries and mini cherries; nice weather here but will heat up again by tomorrow. Sunday, checking out a new church singles group. It's one of them mega-churches that about 60,000 attend. Hoping to meet a hot saintly woman (if there is such a thing) as well as worship.

Tom, it is a new MTH caboose. Both blew at the same time. A flash like lightning came out of it when it happened. Put in low wattage ones that are 18V. I think I like them better. Not so bright. The thing I was talking about is the bases. They should be standardized. Got so many different bases. David, you are on the right "track" for a good woman. BB will win her over for you. [;)]
