ROY you know us narthern golfers gotta stick together. Heard that down south the holes on the courses are like 5 gallon buckets.
DOUG, hope you got air conditioning there. The humidity factor is very high today. Glad it held off till now. My shop and the gym are the only places that does NOT have AC. I use to take two shirts to school on those hot humid days.
Stay COOL.

HOT! 87 at noon and climbing. Possible scattered thunder boomers later. A typical Georgia early summer day.

Did have time to run the trains a bit this weekend and finish off the small farm plot on the board, added the irrigation system, the people and adjacent landscaping remain to be added.

Spanky,
At the end of this month, the Ohio Rail Passenger Association is having a meeting up your way. If I can get the 1,000,000 things done on my list, I may be up your way.

Yesterday evening I was out in the train room watching a couple of steam powered consists travel round. There was a decent haze forming when Grandma and the youngest walk in to check if I'm still alive. The first words out of the GD's mouth were: " Pop-Pop I don't like this flavor smoke, put in the plain kind." I was using vanilla, next refill I went back to basic Lionel. She's become a smoke junkie, sniffing as the engines go by to determine what I'm using. Guess I have to get a few more flavors of JT's.

Evening Folks,
Not much going on here today. Redid my two fan driven smoke units per *** Teal's article, and have smoked up my room a couple of times and opened the window twice. I picked up rounds two and three from my new(old) A-1 tonight, and I can say that I won't be doing any serious digital picture taking for a while. The digital stays for doing shots for auctions and for the forum, but film does all the other work. I'm at over 100 pictures now (waiting on two rolls to come back) in three weeks of owning my A-1, and get happier and happier with each picture I take.

Doug,
All the folks up north are too used to that flat land...the hills of Kentucky and mountains of Tenessee and North Carolina do a person good. No one in their right mind would enjoy driving through Illinois and Indiana [:)]

Good Morning from NE Ohio

with Blue Clear Skys and temp at 73 at 6:00am.

Buckeye, That sounds great, maybe we can go together. I will be on vacation the last week of June, but staying close to home this year.

Ben – since I went digital, I don’t think I have taken any 35mm pics. In the past year and ½ , I have taken over 3,000 on the digital, could not afford to have that many developed.

Roger – my wife like the Christmas Pine or Bayberry garland because it reminds her of Christmas.

Pick of the Day

all be safe

HI GIZ,
Last day with the kiddos YEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just gave out my golden hammer award for the best boy and girl in 7th and 8th grade.
Its a nice hand made award that I have been giving the kids for the past 21 years. I make a plaque spray paint the hammer head gold, get a jeweler to engrave the kids name on it. High coveted award and the kids do try to outdo others for it, so it has a big meaning for these kids.
nicw at 63 this morning to get to 90.
Had big T storms last night.

I hear you, Ben, though it sure was something looking at the farmland as far as you could see whenever I topped an overpass while driving through Indiana. Can't believe it's warmer here in Chicago than in Las Vegas - I have to leave to get to the airport to go there in a few hours. Real nice Little-League-baseball watching weather last evening.
Congratulations on another year, Laz - great idea about an award - I'm amazed about the power of 'recognition' like a simple plaque for our adult students too.

Good morning all. Well, it was a real hot one here yesterday. Got through weedeating and my JD cap bream was dripping water. Got to get busy this AM. Got shrubs to trim [lots of shrubs [:(]]. This catching up is hard work. Need to stay in town during the spring and travel during the hot summer. Someone tell BPS and Cabela's. [;)] Well, off I go to shine my badge [private joke]. Another hot day here in Dixie, reached 95 on our patio yesterday before it clouded up and the thunder rolled in, no rain here but all around us. Expect more of the same today.

After last week's rain the grass needs cutting but too hot right now, maybe this evening. Come on thunder storm![:D]

Good afternoon all,

Hot, humid, and cloudy here. Afternoon storms expected.

Went to a long planning meeting for the Scout Summer Camp last night. Also attended a youth protection training session to get recertified. The end result is I have accomplished nothing on completion of the pool deck refinishing. Maybe this evening I can get back to it if there are no T-Storms.

Have a great day all!

Let's see it was 92 degrees hot in Ohio, so do I do the smart thing and stay inside where it is nice and cool. Of course not! I head to NW Ohio to look at a possible site for a new grade crossing separation over the mainline of the CSX.

Standing out in the middle of the road along the tracks is the story of my life.[:D]

Roy, when I was young I worked at Scout Camp and of course you know what I taught, fishing.

Doug, if I understand your comments about Indiana, you were traveling south on I-65. That is gold in those fields and in the winter there is nothing to stop the winds.

Afternoon Folks,
Visited my favorite local train shop today, The Rail Fence. Found a set of 2440s(green tinplate passenger cars) in rough but salvageable shape for $10. I passed, but think that I'll make a trip back tomorrow to buy them. $10 is too good of a price to pass up for a halfway decent set of cars.

Tom,
Very true about the cost of processing. I've been using the $3 Wally World processing that works out to be about $.17 a print including the cost of film. It still can be a bit expensive, which is why I wouldn't consider using anything but digital for something that I intend to upload directly to the internet.

Finally received my "Summit Meeting" print today. Had received an e-mail message that it was shipped back on 5/19. I called the vendor after ten days to find out the tracking number. That's when I found out it was coming parcel post. Once you get accustomed to 3 or 4 days for delivery, 18 days is an eternity.

Had to unplug the computer. Had a little thunder storm. 2.2 inches in an hour. Sounds like another one on the way. The sky had to "split". Temps was in the high 90's and hummidity so high it looked like fog during the day. Got a few chores done but turned to "sweat ball" in no time at all. So, I ran train in the AC some. Smoked up the house. [:D] Now time for dinner as wife is sleeping and meat loaf in frig. ready for oven I can do that. [;)]

Good evening,

I have not been on the forum for a few days. One of our daughters was married over the weekend and it was quite an experience. It was a great wedding and a wonderful experience. I think life is falling back into a normal pattern again.

It was an absolutely beautiful day here in western NY with temps in the mid 80's and a blue sky. It's been a long day and I think I will call it a night.

tschmidt, I will assure you that she will not move all her "stuff" out for years. [;)] Mine [married a little over a year] said she got a big group of suff animals to take out. Well, they are in a box in the upstairs hall in my way now. Think they are on the wway to Good Will. [:D] still raining lightly. Grass and garden will grow, Bet it washed the "stuff" off of the top of the pond. Got to go get some small three pin and two pin connectors for my wiring project on the dummy Dash 8.

Good morning all,

It is cool and rainy here this morning, but we do need the rain. My AMC ARC Gantry Crane is supposed to arive via UPS today . I sure wish my truss bridge would show up but I guess the crane will keep me busy for awhile. Hope everyone has a good day!

Morning gang. Ended up with 2.4 inches of rain. Might get more today as going to be hot and humid. Going in to town to Radio Shack to get some connectors so I can do more work on my MTH Dash 8 dummy. Use to solder everything and then if a light burned out, you have to unsolder. Think I cn afford a few connectors and wire nuts. Shurbs to trim if the heat does not get me or the T'storms one. Have a good one and God bless all.

Morning team!

Hot and humid here also. My son and I went out to shoot some baskets in the driveway last night and the humidity was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Ugh [sigh]. So we did not last long running around. Dallas sits in the Trinity River basin, so the humidity just lingers when there is no wind.

tschmidt - glad you had a good time and made it back OK.

Ben - sounds like a good deal on those cars. I would get them.

My daughter got her grades and she passed everything! [:D][yeah] On to high school!

Have a great day all!

Hey Dave, tell BB not to be running rabbits to hard these days. Too hot. If she gets too hot, get her to a stream or water or pour water on her tummy. Some of my beagles would almost run themselves too death. Vet said that most of their big arteries are close to their tummies. That will cool them down quick. Good luck on MR.
