Morning!

Opening night was a huge success and the Princess was very happy with her return to the stage.  I can tell you, after helping her with her lines, she made a small mistake on a long part of the lines, but, if you hadn't read the script, you wouldn't have noticed.  Overall she was very happy with her performance and I'll take that as a very big boost for her confidence and her ego.

Had a short talk with Brutus on the Facebook, it was late, we had leftovers and then crashed into bed....Nice to see you there Jim!!  That facebook thing is really cool, connected with some friends I hadn't seen in many years. Real nice to "see" them again!

Jim - continued prayers for your family.

Dennis - good luck on the violin thing (been there, done that...it was ok but I'm not coordinated enough I guess)

Up to 77 today now about 50, going to rain and be colder Sunday (yeah, great, first day of Bike Week, I may stay home), nice on Saturday, but I'll be in the LTS doin' my thing.

See ya inna bit

Mornin' boys.  Hazy and 46 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  I think I pulled a muscle during my "escape" yesterday afternoon.  It's something in my neck, and when you turn a certain way OUCH, yep right there!

Oh this COULD be fun! <taps fife on the shoulder>

---

Roy - That's odd. Susie-Q and I have been replacing our incad bulbs with the CF bulbs and haven't had any problems (some are well over a year old).  I use the 'Daylight' bulbs from Lowes, don't remember the manufacturer - I'll get that tonight. I am in the process of replacing my spotlights with the dimmable CF bulbs... THAT is expensive... I have 4 65 W (three in the family room and one in the basement) and I think 16 85 W... at $9.95 a pop that will blow the budget quick! I also need 8 of the 3-way bulbs... Oi Vey!

Morning from partly cloudy Concord NC.  WC says 80% chance of rain.  OK.  That will bring the shoppers inside.  Suppose to rain all weekend.  See Sir J and Kurt might be in for some SNOW.  WC says Ioway guy might slip by and not get snow.  I see the Texican stopped by for a visit.  Guy with Enterprise who picked me up was from Pittsburg.  Said he liked our weather and was glad to get away from the snow.  Time to walk down the hall and get breakfast [I'm on the first floor].  Have a great day.

Good morning all,

It is windy today in SE Indiana with temps dropping thru out the day.  Scrimmaged again at the YMCA with the exchange student and a couple of other younger kids.  Tripped over the ball and went sprawling on the floor with no damage except to my ego.  Did some eBaying last night just to view stuff.  Not much else happened last night.  Just hoping for a nice quiet weekend. I had the regular fare on the dining car this morning.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Mike C. from Indiana

Evening all!

Well the test results are IN! I have 3 vanity areas in the house that require a total of 14 light bulbs. I did a replacement before the holidays of all but 3 of the bulbs, which were incandecents. I installed 3 more incandecents and replaced the rest with the new compact flourescents (eight 13 W CF bulbs - each equivalent to a 60 W incandecent). The wife had been bugging me the last 3 weeks to get in there and replace some burned out bulbs (requires removing a plastic diffuser which is somewhat a pain to get out of its frame). So I finally get to it tonight fully expecting to replace the last incandecents because these new bulbs are rated for 8,000 - 10,000 hrs average lifetime and the older incandecents are rated for 1,000 - 2,000 hours average lifetime (and remember that 3 of the bulbs were already several months old).

Well guess what? 6 of 8 CFs are dead and only 2 incandecents died. I had been noticing this in other places we have been using the CFs, but I was not sure. The CFs did not even approach 1,000 hrs before burning out. I may be saving energy but I am not saving any money. The reports also say it is not good to throw CFs into the landfill (minute mercury plus chemicals in the circuit boards for the HV inverter), and here in TX one is requested to take them by a state household hazardous waste recycling center. I am lucky as there is a center about 4 miles from my house (but it is only open certain days of the week). I checked the boxes and there is a 1-2 year warranty, but then one has to call for a return authorization, package them up, and ship them in - so that doesn't save any money either, not counting the time wasted.

I am filling a rather good sized box with the failed CFs from the past year.

Hit 80s again today, but cold front is in the area and will be below freezing for Sat night.

Hope everyone has a great day tomorrow! TGIF tomorrow!

Regards, Roy

Good evening All

It's raining, don't have to shovel rain.I picked up  $52. Ohio Central caboose today for $25. NIB. Store is thinning his mth rolling stock, lots on half price sale.

The new Lionel catalog is bound different, more like a soft cover book style. I like it, will be easier to store this way.

Enjoy the evening and your friday,  Banilla is waiting...S.J.

In Charlotte [well really Concord, race city].  Race track and Concord Mills is NOT in Charlotte.  BPS is not in Charlotte.

Stupid Town Manager did not listen to what I told him.  He had a meeting with Planning Director that has been named Asst Town Manager [because Manager is not doing his job] and told him opposite from what I insturcted the Town Manager.  Then he tried calling Town Board members behind my back and tried to lie out of it.  He got shut down by them.  His stupidity is showing.

Time to go get dinner.

Chat later.

Evening all!

Fridgidare ended picking up the total $115 labor charge.  They said we'll be on our own next time.

Jim:  Wow!  Great news about getting custody of the Grandkids!  I'm sure you and your Bride will provide a great place for them to grow up.  Will keep them, your daughter, and SiL, as well as your Bride in our prayers.

Rich:  Sounds like you're a kid in a candy store.  Can't wait to see what you end up with!

Quick stop by tonight.  Had a long day, but the new guy is here and, while he can't do cases on his own yet, give him a month and he'll be up to speed.

Yeah, the violin lessons are fun.  Got the bows rosined up today and started making noise.  I am checking into the violin I'll be needing.  They are not too expensive, but it does build up when getting four of them.  Now my fingers smell like tree sap from the rosin.

Jim, prayers for them that they get through this successfully.  Tough road to tote, but we both know that in Him, all things are possible.  Glad you were able to work things out for guardianship.  It will be tough for you as well with the little ones.

Gotta run, but hope everyone is having a good day.

God Bless<

Good Afternoon from Southern Ohio

It has been a crazy week!  Prayers are being answered as we are now legal guardians for the grandkids, and my daughter and her husband are in rehab for substance abuse.  Their case worker wants them to bottom out before we visit and I am in total agreement.  Got to listen to the pros I figure. Bride had four spots in a *** that have been determined to not be a problem and to check them again in six months.

I tried to catch up on the pot but there was a lot going on.  This weekend I will be without internet access so I won’t see what is going on till Monday.

Rich – Nice bike!

Charlie – is the 494 a rotating beacon you were having trouble with a while back?

Ray – Prayers for B-I-L and family.

Dennis – The family that plays together .  .  .

Wes – I don’t know about lately but we bought Kenmore when we were first married 31 years ago and we’ve had two washers, two fridges and the original dryer

May God bless

Jim

Yup, something I would've PAID to see!!!

I posted earlier this AM and the system ate it...that's my story an I'm stickin' to it...

70 right now, sunny and a little breeze...Princess's opening night tonight.  Should be fun.  Work is slacking off now, just catching up on what paperwork I have left.

After Church last night, went to see Dave in the hospital.  I stayed 45 minutes, I guessing that the family went home for the night as it was 8 PM.  He's opening his eyes now, and there are some facial expressions.  So I'm assuming that's progress.  I'll try to get up tonight after the play and I'll be at the LTS Saturday as well.

Well there have to "monkey wrenches" thrown into the bike mix.  I found a '07 VTX 1300 for the same price (bigger bike) with 770 miles on it for about the same price and a 2007 Victory 8 Ball with 1200 miles on it for 2k more (MUCH bigger bike).  Decisions, decisions...

I also purchased the tires I need to get started on the Satellite...another project...wonderful...Banged Head

OK, I have to go to the main office for MORE paperwork, I'll check back after a bit

Wes Whitmore
Bosch was a german company back in the day, but who knows where parts are made and who is putting it together now.  JD Power and Associates seem to really like their diswashers...

They are a little pricier, but how much did your dishwasher really cost you in the long run???

We paid $675 in Nov. 04.

  1. Touchpad replaced:  3/11/05. Warranty parts and labor
  2. Touchpad replaced:  7/5/05  Warranty parts and labor
  3. Touchpad replaced:  11/26/08 Parts consession $115 labor.
  4. Touchpad replaced:  2/25/09 Warranty Parts Labor Covered by Fridgidare.  $75 Diagnostic fee by us.

So far $865.  See the pattern.  The warranty will expire soon, and we will be paying for parts & labor.  Fridgidare did cover the labor as a "One time good will offering" this time.  This one has the touch pads on the top and front of the door.  Condensation somehow gets into these pads and shorts them out.  They won't reset when it dries out.

Brent:  We always had Kenmore growing up.  We have a Kenmore Washer and Dryer now, that work great!  10-years old.  I also have a Kenmore Gas Grill...Blush  No I'm not proud, but it works great!

Back from SSA. Only took an hour to get the daughter's status change. I knew I was in trouble getting there minutes after opening to pick #105 and hear they call for 41. But it wasn't too bad. I'm pleased with our Whirlpool - you may recall I spent a long time pretending our old dishwasher wasn't dead. Kurt, the Chessie car is coming - I hope to mail it Sat. When I also hope to do some LED wiring. SmilePouring rain here - even heard thunder. Wish I saw that tree planting...

88 - I'll hold you back, Killer.  In reality, there's so much product available on tables now, the manufacturers could go on hiatis for several years.  And MTH will fill that WM-B&O-C&O itch in the meantime.  (Got my WM TOFC and hopper 6-pack on order at Catoctin)

Wellll, did spend some time on the layout, cleaning up the leftover panelling from my fascia installation, and then adding more pine trees to my Narrows section.  Learned that I should not wear a thick, hooded RAVENS sweatshirt while utilizing my cutout section.  Some trees wound up in the hood; lost my fifey-flannels on the way up, and the offending hooded sweatshirt on the way down.  Thankfully, did not need to summons any of Rich's friends for the extrication, for the digital image would have been priceless...
