A strange day here weather wise.  We have about 5" of fresh/wet snow and the hammer is supposed to fall in about two hours with a ground blizzard situation.  We share a long and steep gravel driveway with two our neighbors, the one guy is in Iraq and the other couple both work so I just plowed the whole thing with my ATV, what a machine.  From the bottom of the driveway to the far back neighbor is about a 1/4 mile, from our house to the bottom is about 150 yards.  It took me about 80 minutes and that's with me doing hand shoveling on our approach as I have the blade set up just a bit as our driveways are rock except in front of the garage doors.  When we first moved out here 19 years ago I did it by hand and thought nothing of it....... I was also in my 40's and in a lot better shape Smile   Right now it's 32 (a heat wave) and it's supposed to drop to zero tonight with wind gusts of 50 MPH, Thumbs Up  Key West is going to look mighty fine next month Cool

Not sure what is going on here.  Posted about two hours ago and when I hit the button, it displayed a screen telling me that this site is monitored by moderators and once my post was approved, it would be posted on the site.  Am I on double secret probation?  Anyway, hope folks here are having a good one.

I know I'm a day late and a dollar short as they say, but I am so happy for both the Ravens and the Steelers. I can't wait for this match up. This is going to be an out and out brawl. My Ravens are beat up and need the rest, but they'll be ready for the Steelers on Sunday. AFC NORTH is the toughest division in football. GO RAVENS!!!

Afternoon All.

Fife, The Charger fans are a bit blue today, but at least not from the cold. Gorgeous brite blue sky and 89* with a bit of wind, supposed to be this way for the next few days as well. Red flags are flying and CalFire has extra crews on alert just in case, hopefully they will be staying at the stations.

Chief, Check your inbox.

Dennis, Are you being non-pc again ? p.s. Belated Happy B-Day

Now, where did I leave my coffee cup ? Confused

Howdy All

RT good luck with your GP9 project.  Nothing going on at the S.J. household except looking out the window. gave a couple of trains a few laps and finished CTT. My wife had a Dr. appointment for tomorrow but forcasters are all guessing for a nasty day so she changed her  appointment. I let her bring it up and decide because whatever I tell her ,we all know would be wrong. Yea I love her but that part about the husband being the head of the house got lost during the 80s I think. I'll stop back later..TTFN     S.J.

Hey Dennis, that's what happens when you argue with edw about anything!!!

Thanks for the picture of Anderson Station.  I saw the befores but not the afters.  It's a real shame.  Also saw video of the Elizabeth Fire Capt's service.  Bostons own Lt. Kevin Kelly died in the freak accident, he was late of Firehouse USA on USA network.  I sorta remember him, great guy almost 30 years in the fire service.  Shame to loose him.

Got a package from Ohio today, wonder what it might be....?

S.J. In our house we have a general understanding:

#1.  I make the big decisions and she makes the little decisions.

#2. She decides which are big decisions and which are little decisions.

Chuck....I was horrified to learn that you had lost your photos, so here is the one I know you cherish above all others.  The next time you see me, Tom or Laz, we will be more than glad to autograph it for you. Laugh

BTW, did you lose the photo of the Chief?  If so, I'm afraid I don't have any, but my friends at the Ohio Highway Patrol have hundreds.

It's too bad the Chief doesn't loose our email addresses.  I have always thought if my email was Go_Sherman_Go.Northwon.com the emails from the Chief would stop.

Chicago Doug......I hope you have the hatches on tight tonight because the boat is going to get some big waves. Shock

SD Doug.......Your weather reports are entertaining.  No where in the world is the weather that bad.  Sun and warm; who would want to live like that?

Chief....O-72 switches are working perfect.

Laz..... After thinking about all the miles you are running, fife and I want to invest in your "miles run bank."   So starting tomorrow, please up the milage to 42 miles per day.  That should be enough to get both fifedog and me in great shape by June using the banked mileage.

Yeah Fife, I been a BAAAAD boy!  If they knew some of the things I did in my early years.....well, can't go there.  We have an old saying, don't get even, get ahead.

RT, the fire post was the one in question.  Glad it was able to finally get on.  Thought it would be of interest to a lot of folks here.

Well, got an email from the folks at Apple.  They sent a video explaining how to copy the songs from the computer to the unit.  I have been loading a bunch of songs from some site called "FileVOom" that has all kinds of songs.  Been listening to "Dock of the Bay" and some Allman Brothers.  Also watching Trains and Locomotives on the "Boston and Maine in the Four Seasons".  Really like this RFD-TV.

Sounds like Kevin in AK has the door jammed open and we are all about to get a Arctic blast.  Hope everyone has a good night.  Have another big day tomorrow.

God Bless,
dennis

Sorry Don, all packed away in storage but if this keeps up I'm going to fire up the AC. If it gets to uncomfortable we could spend the day at the museum playing with trains. Big Smile

Sorry Don, my only floor fan is already in use blowing hot air out of my train room.  Thanks for the pictures of the fire trucks on flatcars.  Looks like the AGHR layout from that so called red rock canyon in the background.  Don, those pictures of the dry river bed with the leaf blowers was a hoot.  Kinda like putting your finger in a dike or something or closing your eyes if you want to hide. Must be a good analogy for this.

My son is feeling much better today.  He went to the dentist and they feel confident they can repair the damage without too much trouble.  Restaurant people called today and said they have turned the matter over to their headquarters and would be getting back to us.  Sounds like they are taking some responsibility for the unsafe condtions around the place.  I'm glad to hear it.  I think my son would be satisfied if they just cover the dental bill.

Thanks to all you guys who expressed good wishes for my son.  I have'nt had time today to look at everything on the Coffee Pot.

Getting cold in the St. Louis area as well, but warmed up today for a while first.  Storms went overhead and no rain around here, too warm for snow today.  Gonna hit 0 in a couple days.  Home Depot called and window sash replacement came in - $26.  Laz - really like that coal tipple!  Could you use some pvc with a screw down the inside (all this tilted a bit to one side) and maybe the motor from an old drill or something to pull the coal up - motor could be at the bottom out of sight...  Just a thought!  Watching some old stuff on ebay, so TTFN!  Gotta get to RT's before all that cake is gone!  Banilla?

Not much to say, stayed up too late and have a dark early case to get to.  I got more photos of that train station that burned in Hackensack.....thing went up like a blow torch in some of the photos.

Rich, said some prayers for you last night.  Just use the P.U.S.H method....Pray Until Something Happens.  May not be the answer you wanted, but in the end He knows the path of your life.  We will continue to pray for you brother.

I have been reading my new OGR....a good magazine, but I enjoy CTT a lot better.  I think Alan Miller will be good over there, but has a lot to deal with.

Hope it is a good day for each of you.

UGH, up too early.  Got Elected Officials Breakfast [free or I'd sleep in Zzz].  Do not even know the weather for today.  That is what is wrong with getting up too early.  Can't look out and see what the weather is like.  I knew there was a reason to sleep later in the morning.   May go to the lake house and check things out.  Change lower unit lube in the boats.  Not familiar with the two ones I got with the house.  Could have some water in them [don't think so] and with the Yankee cold air coming, need to make sure.  Have a good day and God bless.
