HOPE EVERYONE HAS A HAPPY NEW YEAR, GOOD HEALTH, HAPPINESS, PROSPERITY, AND LOTS OF TRAIN TIME.

(New Years Resolution - I think I will turn over a new leaf, and start being very nice to people in the future.  No more making fun of people and giving them a bad time.)

Re: 2009 Coffee Pot.  Here we gather with friends with tains for chats, 4 years of coffee and sweet ice tea.

Grayson, I didn't think it was misspelled, isnt that the way elderly southern folk talk? So that you wont think I'm throwing barbs at all southern folk, (keeping with my resolution), try this and you will see exactly what I mean.

1. Say the word "trains" very slowly, and pay particular attention to the location of your tongue.  As you will notice the tip of the tongue will be at the roof of the mouth up against the back of the front teeth.

2. Now, imagine you DO NOT have any front teeth, and there is nothing to hold the tip of the tongue in position, and it just falls loose towards the bottom lip.  RESULT : "TAINS", so as you see he spelled it correctly as it phonetically sounded to him.  (And you know how sensitive he is about anyone correcting his spelling, but since this is the NEW YEAR he will probably be very forgiving.)

Rumor has it that the kids from Penn State where trying to find transportation home today, something about being concerned about tomorrow.  I wonder what that was all about?

Did get down to the "club" tonight, even took the wife with me, had a good time, then we went to a movie and saw "Australia" it was very good, a little long, almost 3 hrs.  Now at home waiting for the New Year, going to have pizza and champagne.

Later..

Remembering many good times past, and looking forward to many more!  I think the Chief's April Avatar plastering incident has to be up at the top of the fun pile.

Morning.  Yes, I'm up.  Lucy had to come in and jump on me after her Mom had taken her outside.

Told you Shake and Bake would always post on the old Coffee Pot after it was closed.  Never fails. Laugh

Some Yankee left the door open and it is COLD [compared to the last week or so].

Now for breakfast.  Have a great 2009 and God bless.

Happy New Year from KOOL and frosty Northern Vermont.  It is 0 right now, but with the wind this morning feels like -22.  I had to come in to work today, but it being a holiday I slept in to 3:28 AM.

Good day yesterday: I had a B&O FT set from Lionel that started to act up, losing control and sound.  I opened her up and it was just a loose board.

Today: game day with our kids and a couple of grandparents from church.

Happy New Year from Beautiful Ohio!!!!

Where you can join me in singing:

    • Beautiful Ohio, where the golden grain
Dwarf the lovely flowers in the summer rain.
Cities rising high, silhouette the sky.
      Freedom is supreme in this majestic land;
Mighty factories seem to hum in tune, so grand.
Beautiful Ohio, thy wonders are in view,
Land where my dreams all come true!

Now wasn't that just about the best thing you could do on this grand and glorius beautiful morning where the temperature is 19 degrees and the skys are clear.  A good butt kicking blizzard would have been better, but as they say, "Better days ahead."

Mornin' B-Hey am I in the right place?  Seeing some familiar faces, ok:

HAPPY NINER BOYS!  Clear and 25 (feels like 15;almost a heat wave in Wosooki) here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Actually got off on time last night, so the natives weren't too restless.

jefelectric - Tried to get down to the railyard to catch a shot of that LNE, but the first trick crew must have put it on the outbound Chicago 97 overnight.  Headed to warmer climates, wish I were too.

Happy New Year, may 2009 be a much better year than 2008.

It is colder here (11) than Buckeye's toasty 19 degrees but not as cold as Jon's ZERO.

Watched a program on PBS last night titled "Holiday Train" about the making of the display at the NY botanical gardens.

Happy New Year, Y'all!

Don, you are just too funny!  Hope to have a quiet day.  FIL and his bride are on the way.  I finally got home about 2130 hrs last night.  Was worried that I would have to go back and check on a few patients, but didn't happen.  We already have a few hearts for the morning.  Guy I work with who is supposed to be early tomorrow wants to go duck hunting, so I'll handle first case.  I'd love to get some wood ducks, but am on call, so no go.

Hope everyone has  a blessed new year.
God Bless,
Dennis

Yes Buckeye, your email was probably right.  The same old sleeze from last year dropping in to run the rating down.  Do we care.  NO!  Its so good not that have that one around.

Love to see pet pictures.

Plans changed.  Not going to the lake house until tomorrow.  A buddy who worked with me for over 20 years, his wife died yesterday.  56 years old.  Been fighting cancer for several years.  One of those, got it, came back, got it and came back.  Good Christian people.

Later.

PS: Wildhorse, it is blackeyed peas you are suppose to eat.  You get a dollar for each one.  I will try and explode on them. Laugh  Maybe we should ship tons to the Nation's banks, wallstreet and the auto industry.  Whistling

Hey, what gives with the rating anyway, I tried to click on it to 1. see who rated less than 5 stars, and 2. to rate it 5 stars for my personal rating.  well, it just took it as a low rating, I never did see who rated what, but if my rating is anything less than optimum, sorry.

I haven't posted in quite a while, but wanted to wish everyone a safe and happy 2009. 2008 was challenging for many, so let's hope that things ease up and we have a better year. Cheers, Jakeoregano (aka Dwayne). P.S. GO RAVENS!!!
