Received a package from CA this afternoon with Mr. Fifedog's boxcar and it looks might fine!  I'm glad we were out and about this afternoon as FedEx left it at the end of the driveway looped around the mailbox in a plastic bag in the drizzle, ugg.  Our driveway is absolutely clear of ice & snow, what a coward.  But it all ended well, hope to have some pics tomorrow for everyone, I got a good chuckle out of the Grits neutralizer Smile  WONDERFUL.

Buckeye--nice report on the switch fix, you should send MTH a consulting bill.

 Morning Folks.

Nephew gave me iTunes gift card for Christmas.  Thinking about using it to buy the Extreme trains videos.  I watched the first one (free) and liked it, but the host is a little over the top. Anybody else on the Pot pay for those? Are they worth it.

Well better get going,

Take care,

Mitch

If you get the history channel there on it every tuesday night at 10 P.M. you could record them for free except it would have commercials in it lol.

Just finished cleaning up after putting all the Christmas stuff away.  Still takes a long time even though we only got out about a third of the decorations.  Only one tree this year so didn't have to box up the Dept 56 Christmas in the City buildings.  Used the few Snow Village items we have because of the Lionel Trains building.

BUCKEYE, wat too cool!!!!  Do I have to come to ROGERS CORNERS to pick it up or is it at CHUCKs house?

Laz....It is at Chuck's house.  It shouldn't be too hard for you to pedel it back to the mountains of PA.  Your bear can now be the fireman.  You will be the top float for next years July 4th parade.

All the decorations are now put away for another year.  The train around the tree has been taken apart and the track placed in a box for next year's loop.

Phish.....packed and ready to go with USPS or UPS.

BTW,  we have several new people who seem to be visiting the pot.  First of all, Sign - Welcome, and it is always great to see posters post an avatar.  If you have a photo that you would like to use, but it is too big, there are several programs that can reduce the file size.  Microsoft Picture Manager is only one of several.

Now off to fix some Mike's Less than Perfect O-72 Switches.

Morning All.

What a week this has been ! Out of three days at the mueum all three were less than stellar events. Two days with fried Atlas switch motors and the third day spent fighting to get the DCS to work. Thought about trying to see if I could reach the S.D. Bay with the handheld in one shot but counted to ten and took a short walk instead. Grumpy Had two of the 19th century 4-6-0's on the same line, took forever to get them both entered and when it did the system somehow was wanting to run both at the same time from one command. The only thing I can figure is that it was considering them a lash-up. Eventually was able to get them to operate independently, but what a pain.

It was really busy at the museum on thursday and friday, I was surprised by the big crowd on New Year's Day. Figured everybody would be nursing their hangovers and watching the bowl games.

A very belated  Happy B-Day to Laz, been to pooped to do any entries on the forum.

Brent, saw something on E-Bay you might want to check out, it is a six story commercial building: The SusieQ Hat Company. Smile

Time to refill the mug !

Morning All !!

Had the day off yesterday, spent the time on the layout.  Actually working on roads for the city, and interconnection points.  Did a little rearangements, and things seem to be working in OK.  Did get a long planned facility mapped out.  "Murphys Auto Sales" New and Used.  Will get pictures when its worthy!  Hope to have significant progress by Monday.

Not much chance today, going to be on the radio in LA today.  Local Computer guru, asked if I would come in and talk about printers, ink, and paper.  Ends up being a free infomercial for my company.  So a little nervous but will hopefully get thru it.  Wife is going with me to the studio!  Best news is that it is free, for me.

Then tomorrow looking forward to going to train show in Anahiem, don't plan on buying much but really enjoy looking.

Hope everyone has a great day!!!!

Late-Morning-Greetings~

My 12 yeard old daughter had a sleep over last night, so I was NOT going down to where the computer is!  I'm writing from the main air studio of WKOL-FM where I'll be until 2PM.

KOOL night last night:  my buddy called.  He received the Post War Conventional Classics GG-1 set and Irvington cars.  I went over to open it:

Post War style master set box, windowless orange, cream, & blue boxes with "The Lionel Corporation New York-Chicago" printed on them.  The boxes have no end flaps to rip, but are instead fastened with velcro.  The car and engine boxes have Post War style cardboard liners.

With all the excitement, I forgot to check the ventilators on the nose.  I don't know if they're stepped or not.  I can tell you that the GG-1 wheels are MagneTraction: no nickle rims.

Good Morning

Bright sun but in the 20s. I have no special plans for today so I guess Its a wait and see day.

Phish- the whistle and bell button add DC to the track and that activates one or the other depending on the polarity of the DC. In post war  engines Lionel used a DC relay to start the whistle motor.

Enjoy your weekend...S.J.

 Morning Folks.

Welcome to the dark side Jim Sturgeon-Phish.  Northwoods is right, watch out for that tinplate. Once it gets in your blood you have a hard time passing it up. Been watching some on eBay, may have to pull the trigger.

The Mrs. is sick with a cold again.  We have been passing it back and forth between us since jsut before Thanksgiving.  I've had it twice and and this is her second time too.  Haven't got much in the plans due to her not feeling well. Thought about heading over to local train shop just to poke around.  Who knows I might find something. Smile,Wink, & Grin  Nephew gave me iTunes gift card for Christmas.  Thinking about using it to buy the Extreme trains videos.  I watched the first one (free) and liked it, but the host is a little over the top. Anybody else on the Pot pay for those? Are they worth it.

Our son did get the new toilet installed and operating properly without Dad's direct assistance.  From all reports it is working as it is supposed to.

Well better get going,

Take care,

Mitch

Morning all. Cold-ish but sunny. Great driving, Kurt. Talk more to you later. Back from small group at church - after chores, going to help a buddy finish the elevated track on his layout this afternoon. Maybe work a bit on my own too.  Boxcar arrived on the exchange track yesterday from Iowa.

Well, tree is down and layout left.  Have to take down Polar Express later on.  One of the guys I work with had a son who stepped on his PE tender.  Will check it out and see about repairing it.

At least they didn't call me in last night.  After a good night's sleep, I think I am ready to tackle some of the main layout upstairs.  From what the family has been telling me, we have some help ready to go today.  Will report on progress (hopefully), later.

God Bless

Evening all!

Window and frame stained.  Now the house stinks to high heaven.  Bride is sick, says she can't smell it.  Ran the fireplace to get some of the smell burned off.

Looks like I'm the designated driver tonight...let's see.... where does the key go....Ah H...nope....12v outlet...must be for running the trains.......Oh Wait a minute....Got it!  Woo Hooo...Checking for beacons!  Sir James I'll be by your place first, with root beer, and you can help me find Charlie, off to Doug's, and Laz, and around to Don's on the left coast.  We can buzz by SPman's place so he can see what all the fuss is about.

Bummer for the UPS guy I just got off the phone with UPS and they told me he can not call it a night till he has at least attemped to deliever every package on his truck. So they can over load him and he still has to try to deleiver every package. Bummer man. That stinks. I was about to give up till Monday on getting it.

Good Afternoon from still warm (50°F) Southern Ohio

The grandkids were a lot of fun this morning.  I moved the Franklin and Polar Express out from under the tree and we ran trains for quite a while then played checker and built stuff with Lincoln Logs after they left. Took down outside decorations to take advantage of the nice weather on a day off.

Dennis – We’ve hired a few ex-Seals and to the man they are an impressive lot.  Hard working, very  smart, mechanically inclined, and pick up stuff quickly.

May God bless

Jim
