Was a fairly quiet day w/ a lot of pointing and some system tests. Watched part of a video last night of a steam special in Ohio in 2002. A 4-8-4 and a 4-6-2. Some really good shots and some good stack talk. First observer will be on in half an hour.

Dennis - so sorry to hear the news. Prayers for you and the family.

Brutus - belated Happy Birthday!

Jim - if you are interested in a '93 I could ask my brother. We'd have to get it to you but it could be a fun trip in the summer.

Off to find breakfast before the fun begins.

Hot ride!  Cool!  Great shot on that deer too!

Thanks guys for all the birthday wishes - today I am 46 years old!  Very often, I think I was 16 just the other day - what the heck happened!

Dennis, so sorry to read your news, prayers for your family at this time of loss.  God bless you all.  Sad

No chat last night, sorry - had company over at the house until almost 10 o'clock.  Tonight, we're going out to eat and then home for cake.  But first, I get to go pick up my new glasses.  I'll take a pic later of the cake my wife got me, very funny!

TTFN!

PS - thanks for driving the Tardis for the guys last night SJ!  I found the keys on the counter this morning.  I'll try and make it tonight, but if not, RT can drive - I think he's past due for a run Laugh  Don - I'll use the wayback circuit and catch up the PARTY!  You'll never know the diff!  Laugh

RIP Chewy - best dog I ever had.

Bob,

If your brother is looking to sell, I would be interested. I'd rather see him fix it and enjoy it though. I really want an 89-92, and I found a gorgeous 92LX locally last night. Unfortunately, I can't afford the reasonable $2695 price tag at the moment. That's what I get for buying trains all summer.Banged Head

Good evening all,

IIABSDISEI with temps near 70 (warmer than all of October here, go figure).  First of all, Brutus, a very Happy Birthday wish for you, and may you have many more rides on the Tardis.  I can definitely drive tonight, and Don's neighbor told me she would do  a special show just for you :-)   Secondly, Dennis, a special prayer for you, your mom and your family.  Godspeed to you on your trip.  Very good article in the lastest Trains about the KCS Christmas train.  Warms your heart.

Last night I went to the YMCA for weights, treadmill and soccer drills.  Surprisingly busy for a Friday night.  Today I had the regular fare on the dining car for breakfast.  I mulched the yard again today and did some more in the barn.  Tired.  Watched "Sister Act" with the "saucy wench".  For those of us who are Catholics on the forum, that is the way Mass should be done :-)  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Good Evening

63 today.

Leaves still blowing all over the place so I will wait till monday. Dennis made a post on facebook that his mother has past. I hope I am not out of line by posting this in his place. I  just thought his friends should know. Some time outdoors and TV football was my day. Waiting for the Tardis to hop all over the place before it gets here. Banilla will be waiting.

Chief - Remember to pace yourself, easy on the hydrating, and stretch pretty good before.  Hope you win! Good luck!

Did just that.  Was there at the finish line when the first runner came in [I was the starter but they wouldn't let me shoot my pistol, had to use siren on "bullhorn".]  Two first places were guys [one in his late 20's and second was 14].  Ran it in a little over 19 minutes [3 miles].  120 runners which I thought was pretty good since first time we had done this.  Was a sanctioned and certified race.  I had to hand out the rewards.  Also had car/truck show [CobraBob8 would have loved that].  Some nice rides [30 years old or more].  Some "T's" and "A's", some Chevelles, Transam, big Chevies, some Fords, one MoPar and a pretty white 62 Corvette convertable [like on Route 66].  I had to leave before it was judged to meet Frankie at big train show.  Big trains show was pretty good.  Big 40 X 80 HO layout.  Was massive.  All modules.  Great scenery.  Lots of mills and some mines.  Also had a 20X20 N gauge layout.  Those guys had to keep "pushing" or "nudging" their engines when operating at a slower speed.  If they flew, they did pretty good.   HO had DCC but still not as good as our TMCC/Legacy and PS2.  Some engines had sound but could not be heard over the fans and etc.  The most popular with the kids was the O guage but it was a small one with Polar Express and a Santa train.  Left there and went to Miss Edna.  She was featured in a 30 minute cable TV show.  Full of brunswick stew [from Pam's parents' Church.  Tied so off to bed.

BTW: NCSU meat Maryland [finally got there heads out........ and won a game]

Another quiet day here on the mountain, hopefully anyway. Things are going pretty well considering all the fun we've had the last few weeks. We must be in operation, I'm watching 1615's again:)

So sad to hear about Dennis' mother. Prayers for him and the family.

Jim - I'm going up to Colorado for Christmas this year. I'll talk to Tom about the Probe and maybe we will try that ignition module mod. He does like the car, but I don't really thing he has the time or funds to invest in it. It's been sitting for several years now. It would be nice to see it with someone who is into it. It's a blue GT w/ less than 100K. If Tom is interested in selling, I'll send you some pictures.

The retro railroad article in the last CTT is making me ancy. Would like to get some more switches so I can play w/ track plans, but darned if I can remember if I need more rights or leftsConfused

HI GYZ,

Frosty morning here to get to 67.  Gotta suck up leaves again.  Went for pheasants yesterday, got a good walk in and only put up one bird.  Couldn't get a shot at it, would have hit it in the butt end and ruined it.  It flushed out of the high sweet grass and couldn't get a head shot.  Corn is still up and can't get in the up corn so gotta wait for farmers to cut corn then we'll have lots o birds.  Had fire with BRO last nite, burgers, dogs, and OL MILs.  Great nite.  Ran trains for an hour, NO PILE UPs.

DENNIS, sorry for your loss, prayers for you.

Stay frosty,

Mornin' boys.  Sunny & 52 here in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Speaking of 52, if Ray-Ray & Co play half as intense as they did against Denver, could be a long day for Bengals fans.

Chief - I was refering to the train show, big guy...

Good Morning from Blueberryhill....

It is a sunny and clear 55 degrees. Going up to a beautiful 70 degrees, with lots of sunshine.

Today is an easy day. I plan on watching the Nascar race from Texas, this afternoon. Maybe from the train room.  Maybe spend some time outside, enjoying the weather.

Dennis.....Sorry for your loss. Prayers out to you, and your family.

Dining car was here, and we had the usual for breakfast.

Where is Spankybird ?  ( Tom ).

Y'all have a great Sunday.

Did a search of my posts and found out I needed right hand switches. Lo and behold I found a good deal on a couple of 1122's and a controller. Should be having fun next week. I figure I can a least sit on the floor and put track together while my foot is recouperating. I also found some LEDs to replace the #53 bulbs. Just about every one in the used set of switches I got a while back was burned out. I'll let you guys know how they work out.

Seemed to be destined not to get a 1615, but all in good time I guess.

Mornin' All.

Dennis, Condolences to you and the rest of the family.

Jon, Not sure how long yuz guys plan on hanging around out here but check out this link, http://cal-stewart.org/ . It's not quite the size of York but it should have all the makers(importers) there as well as a lot of sellers. I'll be sending an e-mail early this week regarding the museum. Did Sharyl want to visit as well or is it just a "boy's day out" ?

The last of the halloween layout visitors will be here later today, tomorrow it starts coming down. Lotsa work but also lots of fun. Kinda funny watching some parents almost have to drag their kids out to finish their "trick-or-treating".

Later all.

Doug--thanks for that link, looks like a great show.  How far would that be from LaJolla?  We are there for 3 nights for sure as the company is paying for the hotel, not exactly sure where we will be on the weekend.  I do know we want to spend time at the San Diego Zoo and perhaps a cruise/tour one day, I will have a rental car but I will be relying heavily on my Garmin GPS.

I need to make an executive decision and just get my days planned.  How far away is Don B.?  Also, I do want to get to your museum, distance?

Just a super weekend here, temps in the 70's and dry.  Very unusual temps for November, THANK YOU Al Gore Cool  Of course that's after the 3rd coldest and wettest October on record  Banged Head

La Jolla is about 15 mins. N of the museum if traffic isn't bad. If you want them I can give you directions, don't know about Garmin but sometimes Mapquest really takes you on some strange routes. Actually the route I would give you would work for both the museum and the zoo since we are almost next door neighbors.

The TTOS show in Pasadena is about 2 1/4 hours up the road from La Jolla, again time is dependent on the number of crazies that are given weekend passes from the asylums.

I think the "Hornblower Cruises" is still doing the dinner cruises around the S.D. Bay & Harbor. Last time we went, some years back for a Sony event, it was really nice and good food. The cruises depart from the embarcadero where the Star of India and the USS Midawy are moored.

Must be old age, I can't remember which city Shake & Bake lives in. I believe it is within 20 or 30 mins (+/-) of the TTOS Show.

Beautiful Ohio day.

Dennis....My sincere condolences to you and your family as you remember your Mother.

We were at the lake and spent four hours blowing and raking leaves.  Took all the life jackets to the basement.  Boat is connected to the on-board battery charger.  This last week a skiff of snow was on the ground.

This is my last year on the City's Planning Commission.  After nine years it was time to hang up the spurs.

If I'm not back on the forum, I want to salute our Veterans this 11th.  The 11th month, the 11th day, the 11th hour was supposedly when the armistice took place during WWI.

Hoping everyone has a great week.

Quiet, but good day for the scope. Things seem to be settling in. Finally managed to win a 1615Big Smile Got a pretty good deal on it, plus it came w/ 3 cars! Should be having a little fun while I'm limping around.

Finished watching the Ohio Steam Spectacular video tonight. Some great cab shots and close ups. Saw a preview for a video of the rotary steam plow on the Cumbres & Toltec. Going to have to look out for that one.

Just upgraded this laptop to the latest version of Ubuntu and I'm still getting used to the increased response speed.

Chief - Thank you. I'll be sure to get that in the mail while I still have 2 good feet.
