G'day Guys!

<chomp> <chomp> <munch> <munch> <brrrrrrrrrap!> Ahhhh, the sounds of [dinner] dinner eminating from the back room here at "Our" Place on this Thanksgiving Day in Canada! & Columbus Day in the U.S.

Pete Nice to see ya and hope you had a good weekend. As always, your observant nature is good for the morale, but also in keeping with the inclusiveness sought 'round here. Very much appreciated - thanx! [tup][tup]

Ah, yes Madoc the Welsh Prince who purportedly "discovered" America before Columbus. Well, one thing he didn't do was beat the Viikings to Vineland! [swg]

Check out this URL if anyone is interested in Madoc http://www.madoc1170.com/home.htm

Can-Am Gorge is where I take the boyz on Sundays to romp and ravage amongst the cliffs and forests - terrifying beasts as they frolic in nature's serenity! <huh> Neither Boris or Leon has fallen into the gorge, however, they have both dived headlong into the frigid waters - clothing and boots included. It's always the same thing, but they love it ....... <huh> [alien][:O]

By the by, the E2 IS still at the St. Louis Museum of Transport ... check out this URL:
http://www.museumoftransport.org/rails-4.htm

This is a place we need to visit!

Thanx for the Post and enjoy your [dinner] dinner! [swg]

Hi Tom and all.

Happy Canadian Thanksgiving And Columbus Day to all.
I think Our Place ought to have a MADOC day if only to sample[C=:-)]NICKS Welsh cusine.[tup].

While the turkey is being cooked may I have a pint of Bathams and a round for the great photos of yesterday.

Thanks ROB for the info on the snow plowing and the photos. The of the works fleet trams are very interesting as sometimes these vehicles were sometimes overlooked and rarely photoed at home. My mate is looking in to the Immingham cars.

TROY Excellent Models and thanks for the K&ESR workshop view[^][tup].

RUSSELL Can you tell me when the E2 was photoed is it still in St LOUIS[?].

NICK Sorry to hear about your rotten Saturday night gig.Great pictures and a good model layout. The Midland Rly Baldwin Mogul looks as though it would struggle with the East Midlands coal trains but with Derby building its own locos I doubt if the Moguls were given a fair chance. I wonder if they were ever tried on local passenger trains.

Thanks TOM and PASSENGERFAN for more Domecar info. Our loading gauge in the U.K. was too small to have them so they are new to me.

TOM Another great Fallen Flag and C.P. info and Many THANKS for doing NICKs photos for us to enjoy.[tup]. By the way I noticed that the CAN-AM Gorge is quite near to Our Place has Boris ever fallen in to it .

I hope I have not left anybody out and welcome back ***[tup].

Well its gone 5 and TEDs and NICKs turkey smells wonderful.TED you say BORIS's birthday is OCT31[wow] that sould be some party[;)] PETE.

Boris 'n Leon your jobs are to stand by the front doors, one to the left the other to the right .... make sure that the guys get directed to the tables. Okay, Inspector Clueless of the Local Constabulary your trusted friend and companion, Mr. Doyle, Private Investigator you will take on the job of Host and Marte De for this evenin's Canadian Thanksgiving Day and Columbus Day dinners.

The OKTOBERFEST Pavillion Tent is for the exclusive use of the track gangs, expected to arrive at 5:30 PM. Under no circumstances do they sit in the back room! [:O]

Okay - that being said, the rest is up to Nick 'n Ted [C=:-)] for this grand [dinner]dinner extravaganza! [swg]

Ted That, my friend was one of your better Posts - lots of humor and well done! [tup] As one who has a minor in Anthropology (1992), I should inform you that the Chinese landings on our west coast is largely anecdotal, although there have been some findings in the "record" warranting much more study before a conclusion can be made. Insofar as the Bering Land Bridge crossings are concerned - plenty of evidence there, as the bi-pedal community of humans crossed from what we now call Asia into North America. The "discovery" aspect is only a western term - Euro in fact - to somehow place legitimacy for the conquest of the "new world." We "discovered" it, therefore it's ours ..... Right now, the Vikings have the far better claim in history and the archeaological record to "stake" the claim. Boris RIng the bell - [#offtopic] Drinks on me! [tup]

Al Not sure I follow your thinking - but the story is fine, as always. Don't recall "suggesting" this ....... Oh, yes - congratulations on your progress at school.

Catch y'all later - and <geesh> I hope some comments will be forthcoming regarding the "stuff" I've posted today. Anyone reading out there [?]

Good Afternoon Tom. Guess I'll have a double CR aand a round for the house .Yes I am celebrating early just passed my mid-term tax class exam with an excellent grade . Can't get any better score than perfect.
Now to the subject you suggested.
Remember one of my early leaves home from the Navy I of course took the train when I know everyone else was riding the bus as it was cheaper and faster.. In fact Continental Trailways was running the Golden Eagle service on the west coast between Los Angeles and Seattle. This service provided all food at one's seat except for breakfast that was served in a restaurant but included in the fare. The trip was far faster than the train that required changing three times between LA and Seattle. Going North from LA I rode the OWL up the San Joaquin Valley overnight and connected in Martinez with the SHASTA DAYLIGHT for the long trip to Portland where the GN overnight train to Seattle was waiting.. Every three months the GN-NP-UP alternated the overnight service between Seattle and Portland at the time. Each ran a day train between the two Northwest Cities. I did learn that a sailor could sleep anywhere as the Shasta Daylight car I was assigned to had a bunch of school kids aboard for a good part of the trip and I slept like a baby. all afternoon. We arrived in Seattle early the second Morning after the slow overnight trip from Portland.
For the return I rode the NP streamliner to Partland and made connections with the CASCADE then changed the next AM to the SAN JOAQUIN DAYLIGHT for the trip back to LA. That was really my first all coach experience riding passenger trains and found out it wasn't to difficult to sleep in a coach seat. On Navy pay the meals did seem a little expensive but losing a few pounds probably didn't hurt me. Home cooking put them on while I was home on leave so better to get back in shape before returning to duty. Although much slower than the Bus it was much more enjoyable traveling by rail.

Hi everyone, great, Nick is tending "Mothra" our 43 lb. Turkey. Now, I know the culinary points of the day will be covered, "first class." Another Ballantine's " Indian," please Captian Tom. Never rode the C. & N.W. R.R. but have long admired their steam loco roster. Oh, its best that Chrissy retains her full-time job at Paddy Wongs. She gets an employee discount on all bait, tackle, lunch and evening wear which saves me "mucho dinero."[:-^] The noblesse oblige stops here.[:)]

Hi ***, and welcome back from your Casablanca style connection. I nearly started a lottery on whether we would see you again.[}:)] Let's give *** some breathing space, at least, until he unpacks his luggage. I hope the baggage handlers didn't "confiscate" your camera and film. By Gadfrey, that is an evil part of the world, isn't it?[xx(] By all means come back when you're settled. "Our" Place may not measure up to London but you can't beat our prices either.[tup] Good to hear C.P. is expanding their mountain division.[tup] I look for increased passenger service across the board while fuel is in such demand. S.U.V.'s are becoming domiciles of necessity for some of the "compulsive consumer" crowd.[8] "...but we didn't know...?" Didn't know?

What is the controversy over who discovered the Americas? Archeologists know full well the Chinese landed on our West Coast centuries before the Europeans. If that isn't enough, Siberians crossed the "land bridge" (Asia-America) eons before that.[banghead] I dare say, if they knew what was to become of it all, they wouldn't have bothered.[2c]

Nick[C=:-)], as assistant Chief Chef, I will consider my duties as little more than surveillance while both you and Cindy do stock inventory.[bow] Hmmm, 12 inventories in 6 days seems excessive. Well, that happens when you really love your work.[(-D] There is something to be said for "those living in houses of glass..."[#oops]

Okay, I have hit everything [#offtopic] so far. Boris, you did say your birthday was Oct. 31st, right? I'd best check with Tom and Nick on this. They must have your pedigree papers some place, perhaps in the tub? Must attend to the Maple Leaf paraphernalia, i.e. party favo(u)rs: exploding Turkeys, 3 cornered hats, shoe buckles and, of course, cornucopias (used as barf bags later this evening).[:O] Right, do the parting bell thing Boris. PHWAAP GADFREY DANIEL!!!, he missed and hit the Pinata.[:(!] Go get the Hoover, Cretin. I'll be in the "Rats Patoot" room. See ya soon.

G'day Gents!

I see our Monday morning is off to a rousing start with a bunch of Posts to respond to. Nice having the place hoppin' in the AM ... but then again with both the Chief Chef [C=:-)] and Assistant Chef [C=:-)] working the kitchen for the [dinner] dinner being prepared, it's no wonder! [swg]

Rob Your early mornin' Post brings to mind that we should be getting to a point where the Rendezvous in Toronto activities should be kicked 'round - that is given you are still "into" that "consensus thing." [swg] Let's "do" some Email! As I've indicated previously, my airline reservations will be made before year's end ..... with or without the presence of Helga 'n Hilda [:O]

Ted That menu looks terrific - even cranked something in for good ole Chris Columbus, eh [?] All that fame for getting lost! [swg] Apparently you have accepted the offer of Assistant Chief Chef [C=:-)] without hesitation! Many thanx! I'm sure Nick appreciates having additional talent in the kitchen - along with another set of eyes to keep track of Boris - HIS Assistant. <good grief>

The Sunday Photo Posting Day! feature will remain as in spite of the "ignorance" previously encountered, the idea is for the majority to enjoy the "show," and that we did! Thanx for the kind words regarding the Can-Am. Some of those shots bring a smile to my face and there are times when I look at the layout thinking, "Did I see this or that before?" Only to quickly counter with, "Of course you idiot, you built it!" [swg]

Nick [dinner] Dinner at 5 PM is what we're calling for and by the looks of things, we may have to use one of the OKTOBERFEST tents for the spillover crowd. I understand YOUR FRIENDS from the Can-Am track gang are expected along with their rivals from CP 'n CN. That should be an interesting gathering. Definitely will have to put 'em in a tent ... last time they all got together in the back room ..... well, I'm still paying for the repairs! [swg]

I concur about the adventure part regarding an 1886 trip aboard CP's cross-Canada train. I'd much prefer the 1986 iteration! [swg] Amenities - domes - drinks - domes - comfortable bedrooms - domes - diners - domes! [yeah]

No sweat on the baseball - just that time of year for many of us. Sports - beer - trains - sports - beer - trains! I just know I've left SOMETHING out! Oh [yeah] [}:)][:-,]

Ah, Prince Madoc of Gwynedd, how COULD I have neglected to mention him and his merry band of marauders, maulers and manglers. <tsk, tsk> [swg]

By the by, Chrissy has applied for the "position" of "relief bartender." Now, that's a thought - but I surely wouldn't want this to somehow come in conflict with Manager, Assistant Chief Chef [C=:-)] 'n part-time Desperado Ted's juggling of his personal "affairs." Something to ponder ....

*** [#welcome] Welcome back! Of course, this blurb will probably go unread - as we've all become accustomed to these rather one-way Posts! <geesh> At least read the last couple of pages! [swg]

There's lots to enjoy and the SUMMARIES should be a good place to begin - especially with the Fallen Flags series and associated Posts.

Glad you're back and hope the next time you visit, you'll be ready to engage in the inclusive dialogue 'round here. [tup]

I'll be here for the day - so stick around guys and whatillyahave [?]

Ah! It is good to be back from the wilds of the world. Since it is morning could I have a strong coffee and Danish? Thank you. Sorry I do not have the time to read the post for the last three weeks. There were quite a load of them and judging from Tom's comments thanks to the shutdown by Kalmbach we got quite a few extra hits. I guess I missed out on all of this fun.

Last week I was in Calgary leaving on Saturday to fly home. Our good friends to the north were planning for the three day weekend when they celebrate Thanksgiving. They have turkey as we do south of the 49th. The office emptied out early on Friday. By the time we finished up at 2:30 you could fire a cannon through the building and not hit anybody. The flight back to Dallas, which left at the unholy hour of 6:40 AM was completely sold out as were most other flights out of Calgary. I guess their thanksgiving is their biggest travel weekend as ours is.

I think we are all aware of Canadian Pacific's plans to increase capacity of their line through the Rockies by adding double track, passing sidings, better signalling, etc. We saw this on the taxi ride from the airport. We crossed over the line going east out of Calgary and they had widened a cut and had rail laid out for the second main (or passing siding). They still needed the alignment crew to tamp and straighten it out, but that is coming. It is sad that the Canadian does not traverse the CP rail anymore even though the name came from the CP, not CN. The only way you can ride the CP is to take the Rocky Mountain Rail Tour train from Calgary or Edmonton to Vancouver. This is on our list of to dos in the near future.

My trip to Port Harcourt Nigeria was uneventual, if you consider riding in a car with a machine gun toting guard and staying in the walled compound with 20 armed guards at the front gate as uneventful. Food left a little to be desired. Lots of mystry meat which mostly was unchewable. They had some great looking salids, however, I would not eat them for fear of getting a severe case of the trots. Then you always get the shakedown upon leaving with the airport staff asking "Do you have anything for me?" It cost me about $10 in bribes to get out of that sewer. Fortunately I will never have to go back there as long as I live. Getting from there to Dallas entailed being in the hands of Lufthansa for 22 hours leaving at 10 PM Nigerian time and arriving at 2 PM dallas time with a 6 hour time change. Needless to say I am a little sore from sitting so long.

We were delayed in departing to Nigeria three days waiting for a small insurrection to calm down. Spending a three day vacation in London at company expense is not too bad, though. At my age I cannot outrun a speeding bullet any longer so I am passing on trips to such garden sport for the foreseeable future.

I had better start clearing off my desk, so I will sign off for now.

Cheers,
***

Well good afternoon one & all,Happy Thanksgiving / Columbus Day,as appropriate. Just stopped by to baste the bird, scrape a few veggies & generally set the wheels in motion for tonight, full menu later. [:-)]TOM-now imagine a trip on the C.P 1886 style-now THAT would be an adventure, please excuse rapid departure last night-minor `episode` brought on by weekends excess, can`t comment R.E baseball-no frame of reference -Columbus,Vikings,forget `em--we all know it was Prince Madoc of Gwynedd and his intrepid ( read "barking mad") warrior band who made the first crossing, teamed up with the first native group they met and promptly disappeared into the hinterland ( modern Gene-mapping techniques have made a good case for this-honest [^] AL-R.E-dome cars,Ontario Northland use them on the Polar Bear Express ( Cochrane-Moosonee,summer only ) have it in mind that cars from C.P &/or B.C.R in use but will check. MANAGER TED-consider all hairs split - as to the other matter, have just seen Chrissie in Paddy Wongs Bait,Tackle,Sandwich & Evening Wear Emporium and no doubts remain in my mind...back later, visitors arrived, nick

Let's hear a chorus of "Oh Canada" by our mens Madrigal Singers. The 43 lbs. Turkey has been plucked, stuffed (ham dressing) and is now being levered into our outside brick kiln. For Columbus Day, the Lasagne, Italian sausages, pasta and meat balls are prepared. The Marinara sauce has been simmering since late last night.[tup] Should be a great amalgam of Anglo/Mediterranean flavors. Tom, make mine a Ballantine India Pale Ale, if you please. Gurggle, gurggle, "Our" Place kitchen and Staff are ready, are you?

Yesterday was a roaring sucess with fine pix from all parameters of "Our" Place territory. Like Fallen Flags, this feature is another winner. Conspicously absent were those who are "away" or otherwise indisposed for the moment. Think what this will be when all our Members have returned...awesome![^] Tom, although I have visited your site many times, those crisp clean scenes along the CanAm are irrestible. Also, the "nitty gritty" of contributions by Nick, Rob and Russell are worthy of the highest praise.[tup][tup][tup]. Rob, I've sent mail in re: my additional pix of "little" K.C., MO.[:D]

Now, what of all this scuttlebutt concerning your hard working Manager?[:O] Balderdash I say! Are my efforts only to be made sport of?"[swg] Speaking of which, I noticed on our "social calendar" that Boris has a birthday on Oct. 31st. Hardly a surprise given the signifigance of that date.[alien] BTW, you will notice there are no horse shoe tossing events. Due to an inadvertant "toss," our Cheif [C=:-)] suffered a blow to his cranium.[V] From now on, we will use dried horse dung copiously supplied by member barndad Doug. I was hoping for more pix on Gunns progress on that beautiful A.T.S.F. Northern...maybe next week? Yeah, I know...maybe never!

There is much to do, so I need to get my "act together." Please share this Holiday with the rest of us. You will feel better for it.[:D] Boris, how is the marinara sauce coming along? The spatula is stuck in the cauldron? NINNY, you put the pasta in the sauce![:(!] The Columbus side of the menu may be a touch late folks. See ya later.

Good early morning everyone. Tom & Nick Excellant shots[tup] It's nice to see layouts that are operational and to see the level of co-operation between you two gents on maintaining the Nicks pics albums good stuff.Tom I can see myself riding along the canam as well kudos for sure. I only hope that once seniced my layout will be close to your level of thought and detail [tup] Also Tom I didn't actually find the "girls" they were dropped off at the museums front gate.[;)][:0] They have limited social, skills as they are the female equivalent of Boris so releasing them in a "target rich " environment like Toronto is not recomended[B)] BTW dave the little blue pills you use on Boris work equally well on the girls so transporting them to and rom our oktoberfest days won't be a problem.[;)] BTW Tom they did say something about doing a snitzel making contest next week. Ted No problem mentioning the railimages site and no problem if you wi***o add more of your shots to it. If you want me to post some of your shots next week let me know [tup][:)] Nick The first shot was MS&C 302 a single truck single ended snowsweeper. The body was built by ruggels a small US car manufacturer the guts were McGuire cummings origin a major US work equipment and traction passenger car manufacturer. The flat motor was built by the Grand trunk railway in house ( MS&C's owner ) Quite often as in this shot a small derrik was fit to the deck used mostly for tie & rail replacement. russell A couple of fine pictures there and an interesting url to boot. Troy what can I say you are a master craftsman [tup] I'm dying to see the completed PCC car once I get the pictures to you. It will be a welcome edition to be sure. from the limited scratch building I've done in HO I can only imagine how much time went into those cars. truely stunning work.[^] Well gents i'll bid everyone good night and a happy Thanksgiving/ Columbus day to you all. I'm heading to moms for the big feast tomorrow so I'll be a late arriver as per usual. Oh Nick 43lbs [wow][:0] I can hardley wait to see the fuel bill for that bird to be cooked[:0][8] Good thing you had boris to wring it's neck that ws one tough looking bird. Are you sure that it wasn't a small ostrich[?] Later all. Rob

Manager, Assistant Chief Chief [C=:-)], part-time Desperado Ted

Congrats on lining up the Canadian Brass! - now that's a coup fer sure, fer sure, eh [?] [swg] Carol and I have a few albums - fine stuff indeed. [tup]

What am I missing with the "44 to what?" [%-)][%-)][%-)] I know the St. Louis LAMBS lost today (I cannot get into that team - they still are the LA Rams to me ...), our Blues have started the season with three losses - but hey - this IS baseball town. Cardinals rule the roost 'round these parts! [swg]

Perhaps BK is "on" to something - I've really considered not recognizing those who don't recognize us. Turnabout, after all, is fair play. I just may begin a new approach to it all .... I'll think about it a bit.

Thanx for the endorsement regarding the Fallen Flags series! Stayed tuned, for I've got something special concocted for the 'morrow! [yeah]

Okay - this time I'm outta here ....... [zzz] Well, at least when the Yankees and Angels game ends! [swg]

[:I] I apologize for the mistake for thinking "Sir Theodore" was running in Ireland while all the time chuffing in Wales Nick. My maternal Grand Mother was from Wales, so shall we "split hairs?" As from my experiences in Ireland, the sooner forgotten the better![:(] BTW, all moving body parts here are still totally functional. Try THAT on for size when you reach 67 years and taking your "annual physical." Bk I too am not particularly inrerested in "no manners!" Hope you find Scandinavia warmer than "Our" Place. Bon voyage.[:D]

Tom, the fallen logos are incredible and just the just sight of them brings back memories "older than dirt." Let us not forget the great "wild turkey day" coming up, tomorrow. The "Canadian Brass" will be with us and IF there are any "out there" who understand their virtuosity; join the "track gang" and me for an evening comparable only to the "last man standing saurkruat [flatulence] marathon."[:D] Ta, for now![tup] See you's when it gets a bit cooler in "Paradise." Oh yes Tom, that "final" score was 44 to what? Oh well, Happy rails to all.

Evenin' Gents!

My guess is that we've seen the end of our Sunday Photo Posting Day! and an interesting selection it was. Many THANX to all who participated.

I'm planning to sign off for the remainder of the night, but first a couple of replies:

Nick I found a URL that amplifies the "Advanced Passenger Train (APT)" in the pix you provided for BK. Check out: http://www.springhill.f9.co.uk/apt.htm

One of these days I'm going to have to make copies of all your descriptions and then edit the Nick's Pix photo album. [yeah] One day! [swg]

I wondered what that rattling 'round was downstairs in the bar 'n kitchen as I watched the Astros beat the Braves in 18 innings this afternoon. They now head to St. Louis for game #1 of the NL Championship series with the Cardinals on Wednesday. A repeat of last year ...

Now where was i [?] Oh, [yeah] - the noise. Figured it was you and your Assistant Chef [C=:-)] Ted making ready for tomorrow's Canadian Thanksgiving Dinner. So, someone's been hittin' the sauce, eh [?] <geesh> imagine that! And in a bar, no less! [swg]

Al Those are rather "busy" listings - suggest you try putting them out in columns, sure would make it easier to follow. Nevertheless, an interesting compilation. Not in keeping with our Sunday Photo Posting Day!, but as you indicated, a head start on Monday .....

BK Once again, thanx for your feedback. We try to exercise a degree of patience 'round here, but I must admit, there are days (daze)! [swg]

I seem to share some of your experiences regarding rail travel. When I did - way back when - there was no camera or notebook on my person. Just didn't think about doing those things then. When we began our new life together back in 1990, my wife and I traveled quite a bit in Canada - and still do. The camera is ever present mainly because I just cannot get enough of those wonderful Budd stainless steel cars. I also have a great affection for the people we've met aboard those VIA Rail trains - crews included. Of course there have been the occasional "turn offs," however, they are far 'n few between. Long distance rail travel is the way to go - too bad it's rapidly diminishing throughout the continent..

Keep in contact, trip or no trip. And, "chill" my man, "chill!" I assure you, those who play the hand of the ignorant are in the minority 'round here. Don't let 'em bother you.

See y'all tomorrow!

Hello Gentlemen and a special good day to you Tom,

A very nice feature for Sunday.

Thank you Mr. Nick for the photo's. Nicely done and do you have a record of where and when they were photographed?

I should explain that my interests do not necessarily center on railroads. However, I do appreciate riding them and looking at the photographs. My activities preculde my being able to hobby them and although I am capable with a camera, I regret that my inventory does not include anything of worth for viewing by this esteemed gathering.

I am continually surprised by some of the people who visit your bar and seemingly have no manners. All of these fine efforts and there is always one who will not mention the works of others. Why then recognize his? Sorry, but that is another shortcoming of mine - no tolereance for ignorance.

Let me end this on a positive note - your picture posting Sunday has brightened my day and for that I thank all of you. Thumbs up - as your graphics would depict - to all.

My European trip may be rescheduled, I'm awaiting word from Norway this very night.

Good day to all.

G'day Guys!

Just a couple of comments to those who Posted from late last night on .......

Nick Sounds like you've had quite the night! [swg] Stay cool 'n lay low today, m'boy - things will pick up in the 'morrow. Guaranteed! [tup] Given that you are staff you've got keys to the joint and access to the Rat's Patoot Room! From the description you provided, even my aging old self would've liked to have jumped in the fray. Been awhile, for sure. [swg]

All of your pix have been Posted and they really came thru just fine. Thanx! [tup]

Rob Once again in your quest to be the first to Post for Sunday Photo Posting Day! you've excelled m'lad - really fine stuff. Thanx!

So sorry to learn that the "bookends" from Germany will not be in Toronto for our Rendezv ous in May. Just as well, Lord only knows what kinda havoc would ensue with them at the evening "socials"!! [swg] Where did you find 'em [?] Some connection to your trolleys, I presume.

Troy I don't blow smoke - but I must say you really have some fantastic models. Congratulations on the attention to detail and the talent to put into model form that which must surely closely resemble the "real deal." I'd offer that when one looks up the definition of "scratch builder" the name troybetts can be found! [tup][tup][tup] Sure separates the "men from the boys" when one sees something like those pix. [yeah]

Appreciate your participation! [tup]

Thanx to Russell for the pix and to Ted for being evermore supportive!

Enjoy this fine day and see ya'll tomorrow!

Good afternoon Tom and everyone [:)]. I know we're closed, so I'll drop this gently through the mail slot.

Sorry I missed out on Octberfest here. Looks like a good time was had by all.

Here's a couple of pix for Sunday Photo Day .

BSR F9PH nbr 98 Branson Scenic Railway, Branson, MO. I took this a little over a year ago, when my wife and I were in Branson. We were there on a Sunday, which they don't operate on Sundays. It was built by EMD in 1951 for the B&O, then became MARC #83.

Info can be found about the Branson Scenic Railway at http://www.bransontrain.com/

Milwaukee Road E2 at St. Louis Transportation Museum.

That's it for now.

Many thanks Nick. The "Sir Theodore" is a "keeper" for sure. Anyone questioning my maternal lineage to Ireland can now put all doubts to rest. The "warts and all" approach is best in my opinion. Makes one appreciate the constant "in flux" development of any Pike. Nice weathering on wheels and sideframes, keep up the good work, more on moday. Happy rails.

Sorry I come unprepared for posting photos. Best I can offer is some views located on Rob's "railimages" account on page 6. You can access them by going to trolleyboys Profile (click on "trollyboy" this page) go to the "railimages" URL and press page 6 for some early efforts. I'm negotiating for more pix available next week. Promise to be more involved a.s.a.p. Superb craftsmanship Troy, I see overhead "feed" was not an option. Ditto here in FL.; the high winds make "short work" of catenary and poles. Rob, great pix and I hope my reference to your account is appropriate. Folks will be able to enjoy the fine views over-all, thanks.
