Tom that's another good one I like it here is mine for the day.
Aother old warrior this one on the CP and in the latest paint scheme to boot.
Rob
GReat pictures one and all I really like the Duchess Of Sutherland those British steam engines were really clean and sleek looking.
I do recall our discussion a few years back of Canadian passenger service Tom, seems hard to believe it was a few years ago.
The Turbo train picture brings back a specific memory from the early seventies. I went from Brantford to Montreal in one day, which was just possible with the turbo train. I left on the first train in the morning I believe it was by them an RDC not the International Limited. In torornto I got the Turbo train which loaded at track one, rather than from any of the gates down in the concourse. Came back on the afternoon Rapido and got the last train west from Toronto that night. Was a great day.
Is that one of the old TH&B engines Rob?
James
G'day!
Yeah, Rob - can't go wrong with CP, although in marron/grey 'n the beaver herald - now that's a sure fire winner!
Seems like yesterday, doesn't it James Happens when the years go by so <censored> fast . . . must be getting O-L-D! <grin>
My Saturday special before heading back to the bar . . . .
Southern Belle Passenger Train
Enjoy!
Tom
Sunday special . . .
"Drumhead" logos such as these often adorned the ends of observation cars on the Southern Belle.
Good evening folks. Couple neat sets of heralds from Tom I aggree that teh Maroon and Grey is the best for CP livery however that particular unit never wore it.As James thought I'm fairly certain that that is oen of the ex TH&B's one of the 400's I'll have to do some digging. If it wasn't one of the TH&B's it would have been an ex Soo line unit.Lets see what's up for today.
Another fairly recent shot from bayview jct.
enjoy
A Monday offering . . . after a nice looking freight from Rob last nite . . .
All looking good out here on the cutting edge-plenty of variety..,forgot to mention before how much I like that original Turbo Train livery-that & the C.N Zebra `F` units were the earliest images I can recall of the N.American `scene`and they remain potent for me still.....
Back in dear old Blighty meanwhile, here is the Duke of Gloucester easing through H/West some weeks ago

Enjoy your day !!
Good evening folks, another hot humid one here sounds like a storms brewing out there as well.Any how a beaut of a steamer from Nick Loved Tom's NP shot too I really was amazed by that freight shot I've blown it up to full screen size and set it as my background on the comp.I'm amazed at the detail my little digi. cam. picked up on that one.Lets see what's up for tonight.
An ONR shot for giggles.
Nice one ROB-You know the way to a mans heart (straight through his ribs according to missisnick..but I digress) So-are you gonna tease us with a description of those little lake of bays steamers...?-I`m guessing wee Porter type 0-4-0 saddle tanks...although it would be a treat to find an old Baldwin 4-6-0t or something even stranger serving out it`s days up in the Northlands...........
Hey Nick glad you liked the big ONR SD.I always thought the way to the heart was throught he stomach Espeacially if it's done with some good beer The little Lake of Bays steamers are 0-4-o saddles I believe. I'll have to find my shot of them and rescan it and post it again ( the original scan went down with the railimages ship unfortunatly )Lets see one more teaser for you.
Shot of two of the stored ONR F's in 2005
More great pictures, makes me want to get into my slide collection, I have pictures taken of those ONR F units at Spadina street Engine House in their old livery green and yellow as I recall and they had the Ontario Coat of Arms on the nose. I always thought that was a nice touch, that and the chrome plated grills on the sides.
Can you upload pictures directly or do you have to do it through a hosting site, I am inspired to try and put some of my older pictures here? Also I have to say I am defintly technologically impaired, so make the description easy. There are a few treats though you might enjoy
Good afternoon all: Just a quick stop - lots of good material recently. I remember photographing ONR power at Spadina as well. About 1976, IIRC. Now, where are the pictures?
work safe
G'day Gents!
Always good to see the boyz from the bar swing by . . . thanx Rob 'n Nick for helping to keep this lonely Thread up 'n running . . . appears we're not doing very well at "hooking" any customers though. Getting somewhat O-L-D. <grumble> <mumble>

For James: In order to Post fotos on these Forums, you'll require a hosting site. Recommend PhotoBucket . . . most of our crew uses it - no cost to the user. <Although some of us have paid accounts just to help defray the costs for those folks.> Not too difficult to master . . . Establish your account then ship me an Email via the Fourms 'n I'll walk you through the "necessaries" . . .
A quick good evening folks. Tom lovely drumhead a keeper fer sure fer sure. James you do have to have a host site to upload from. Photobucket is a good one, and it's a free service, easy to start up with as well. Once you've got the photo's loaded up posting them here isn't all that hard we can talk you in as it were.I'd love to see the Classic shots of the ONR in Toronto Okay how about another one from "the bucket"
A classic from Bayview mid 80's shot.
Always enjoy seeing that VIA Rail shot of yours - looks mighty fine in that livery 'n with that motive power!
Hmmmm, must be an echo in here - for I said pretty much the same thing to James! <grin> Anyway, let's try to keep the "instructions" via Email if 'n when it's time . . .
Mine for this rainy day in mid-continent USA . . . MORE DRUMHEADS!
Burlington Route (CB&Q) - Pioneer Zephyr

Algoma Central Railway
Well good evening all, good to see we are maintaining the mix-pix from ROB,artwork from TOM,informed opinion from SHANE & JAMES......ROB-nice to see the old 1500`s-albeit in a less than sympathetic livery and with that wretched great cut out panel for the CAT plant to breath through...........
Anyway,a wee montage for you tonight, all the way from County Wexford in south east Ireland
O.K:- T.L-A rare example of street running in Wexford Town-sadly (as related elsewhere) by the time the train arrived I was stuck in the back of a cafe just up the street. T.R-a G.M co-co unit accelerating a Dublin-Rosslare Europort out of Rosslare Strand stn B.L-One for the modellers,a `prototype for anything` scene-a perfect staging yard entrance-Enniscorthy on the Dublin-Rosslare line B.R-a G.M bo-bo on a Waterford-Rosslare service, about 300 yards south of the T.R pic..........
Right-everybody got that-there may be questions later.................
Enjoy
P.S--JAMES-looking forward to seeing your slides-am another big O.N/C.N fan -....... GO for it
Good Morning All;
The collection continues, I see. Nice FPA4 picture at Bayview. Then we have drunheads from all over and Nick was by with some Ireland photos. One example of your "staging area" idea in the U.S. that comes to mined is Brattleboro, VT.
Afternoon guys figured I'd pop in here and salvage an afternoon's work ( at least before this one gets shut down too ). Tom great drumheads again Nick yes thast livery wasn't the best but at least if the loco's go for preservation a bit of steel fills in that intake quite nicely.Shane did you ever get any shots of that VT op
okay here's this afternoons shot.
Another one form the North Country
Good to see ya, Rob . . . Shane too!
Yeah, who knows how many Pages to go B4 this Thread bites the dust <again!> . . .

A couple more good drumheads from my neck of the woods thank-you Heres one more for the day.
City streetcar from Hamilton Ontario,we have sister car 521 at the musem, hopefully it will soon be on the restoration list as the new barns finally going up.
I really like the Ontario Northland photos, though I prefer their older colour scheme. That picture of the Hamilton street car is great, when did they stop street cars. I recall as a young fella that they did have trolley buses for a while?
Come to that do trolley buses get photoed by trolley fans or bus fans?
Thanx for keeping on keeping on, Rob . . . been a bad scene over at the bar.
One for the end of the work week . . .
More DRUMHEADS!

One for this Saturday that you might appreciate . . .
Staten Island Rapid Transit <S.I.R.T.> The old 'n the new . . . from many years ago. <foto credit unknown>
Luv that shot! Have it in my photo album too.
Here's one to keep things going, but not for much longAH, huh
Good evening gents.Just like old times with the three musketteers keeping it alive over here. great posters and photo's from the two of you.James I think most people like the old ONR Green scheme the best,it just worked HSR stopped streetcar ops in 1958,trolley buses started up in 1957 and finally wound down in 1986.Died in the wool streetcar fans avoid anything with rubber tires.A lot of bus fans detest the trolley bus as they are not a true bus.Ah what wierd folk we all are.
Something from the NS&T.One of the curved side "city" cars at Port Dalhousie meeting the cross lake steamer passengers from Toronto. One of the 130 series interurbans is beside it.
Nice duo, Rob! And yes, great having Lars back <even if only for 2 visits!>
Mine for this Sunday . . . .
UP #6944 at MoT, Kirkwood, Missouri <personal foto>
A nice chilly looking photo Tom Here's a favourite of mine.
Radial car 620 on Geneva street in St Catharines 1958. Interestingly all the stores are still their and the street and intersection their has not changed at all in 50 years.
Lars is that picture Central Station in Buffalo looks great regardeless?
That was always in my opinion one weird looking diesel Tom, though I wish I could have seen it for real.
The picture of Geneva Street is really neat Rob I did not realize that the NS&T ran electric that late. I assume there is no track there now but am willing to be corrected. For years there were street car tracks at the corner of Port Street and Erie Ave in Eagle Place in Brantford, years after they were not needed.
Another nice urban shot from Rob!
James - Speaking for Lars <since he more than likely will be scarce for a bit> - that IS the New York Central Station in Buffalo.
Mine for this Monday . . .
Milwaukee Road - Full Dome
