Yoohoo! Anybody in? Pretty empty in here today! The girls are playing a game of chess, and Cousin Vinnie seems to be snoring in the back booth. I wonder how these folks can make a living these days...

I´ll be calling it a day. I am not grumpy any longer, still hoping I can play with my new trains tomorrow Cool

Have a good night!

Things went well until physical therapy after lunch. I had to hoist myself up between a of parrall bars and make my way from one end to the other a total of 5 times. First attempt my right foot slipped down I went. That ended the exercise. It'll be attempted again another time.

Ray - I do know what you are referring to. Got a chuckle out of it when I read it about 30 minutes ago. Why, well we had just returned to our room at the Glenora Inn after having a nice dinner down in Watkins Glen. I opened a bottle of Reisling & logged on. Yep. Today was our annual wine run.

It was a nice trip up with the autumn colors on the trees being maybe the best we have ever seen in all the years we have doing this. They were simply beautiful all thru PA & across I86 in New York. And we somehow managed to avoid any heavy rain. There were some scattered showers, but not enough to even bother with the windshiel wipers.

We will start our trip home after breakfast in Watkins Glen tomorrow. Should be a straight shot, but who knows. After all, we do have to pass the "outlets" in Grove City. Sometimes that place has a magnetic draw on my wife. So we will see.

Evenin' folks!

Janie, just a cup of decaf please....

Got my hair cut today....  Actually I had him cut all of them!  Since nobody else was in the shop waiting, I stood around a yaked for a half hour or so after he finished.  Then headed downtown to the Credit Union to replentish my supply of pictures of dead presidents.  Spent most of the rest of the day working in the train rooms.  Not anything photogenic I'm afraid.  Working on the 18v DC lighting Bus.  Extending it around the second room.

I know many of you are scratching your head wondering why I have an 18v Bus for lighting.  Well....  For a brief moment in time I tried my best not to go to DCC.  Got sold on a piece of crap that is a DC radio cab thingie.  The cab had a 5' antenae on it and the entire system never did work.  But since I had shelled out close to $500 for the garbage, I decided I could at least still find a purpose for the 18v power supply I bought with it.  I use 12v lights on the layout (grain of wheat and grain of rice) and simply run two of them in series.  That puts 9v through each bulb in effect and gives them a very good "period" yellow look.  They also will likely never burn out as long as I am around....  I'm sure I will wake with a major back ache tomorrow!  Already have the start of it.  Been a couple years since I was crawling around under the layout doing any wiring, and during that time I have lost about 15 lbs.   Actually working under there was easier than I remember from the last time......  Hmmmmmmmm.......

Tom, so you and your wife are less than 28 miles from my house (or 28 minutes down the road as we say here in the Finger Lakes) and you didn't stop in for a visit???  Tell you what, next year let me know when you decide to make the wine run and I can get the place cleaned enough for company and at least show you the SLOW in person!  Might even take you and your wife out to dinner at Belhurst Castle here in Geneva....  They have an up and coming in house winery there now as well.  Have a safe trip home and enjoy your stash of great wine!  By the way only a few more miles north from where you are there is a Meadery.  Honey wine.  Great too!  I shall be getting a few bottles for myself and for my other son's birthday coming up in a couple weeks.

By lunch time the rain here had just about stopped, but no sunshine at all...  Just dark, damp, and gloomey around these parts.  Solar panels only produced 3.5 kWh of power today....

Jeffrey, now stop doing stuff like that just so the pretty nurses have to pick you up off the floor.....  At least there they do have people to help you when you get inbto a predicament.

Prayers for all in need!

Balancing on a prosthetic leg with the foot ready to slide from under you is no easy thing. A sudden start followed by a very sudden stop with a bounce off of a parallel bar is a memorable experiience.

Good Morning!

A day later than expected, but Christmas has come early to my house this year! A huge box arrived, containing ypu already know what! My Minitrix starter set! I´ve got the same feeling I had Christmas 1963, when Santa in the guise of my Dad brought me a Marklin starter set. Well, as Trix is owned by Marklin, there is another coincidence.

I am 7 years old to day, filled with joy and happiness. Forgotten is my headacke, which had plagued me the past days. Forgotten is the misery of life - at least for a few moments. Not forgotten are my friends, with whom I´d like to share my joy.

Here is what I got:

I´ll be setting it up on our dining table - right after lunch!

I am happy!

Blessings to all of you and a special Angel for Jeff!

Me again!

Right after lunch, I have set up the track, connected the DCC command station to it, put the loco on the track and - it ran! But only until it hit the rerailer supplied with the set. The loco´s snow plow hits the rerailer and derails, so I just removed it and replaced with a regular piece of track.

The loco runs quietly and smoothly, the hum it makes is really close to the AC hum the prototype makes. No, there is no sound to it, but I don´t think I´ll miss it. I was surprised to feel, how much that little loco weighs. A metal frame and dual flywheels do make a difference to what I am used to with my Kato Japanese stuff. It´s got two traction tires, so it should be a good puller. Looking at it, it seems to be a fair representation of the prototype, although there are two flaws to report. #1 is, that the windscreen is molded in one piece, whereas the prototype has two. #2 is, that the brake disks are missing. This does not bother me at all, as you don´t see them when the loco is moving. While the performance is better than OK right out of the box, I think it will even improve further after a run-in period. The flaws I mentioned are typical to the Minitrix loco. The Fleischmann N scale SBB RE 482 does not show these and is much more accurate, but costs nearly as much as the entire starter set.

Just for comparison, the right one on the following picture is the Minitrix version, the left one Fleischmann´s SBB RE 482.

After running the train for a few minutes, I tried to program the command station and change the locos address. That was quite some undertaking. There is no manual in the set, so I had to look for it in the Internet. While I have not found out how to change the CV´s of the loco, I was able to assign a name to it (the loco no.), which is now displayed on the command station for easier identification. I also succeded to change the locos address from #3 to #1. Future identification will be by loco name, which I think is a nice feature, as I tend to forget the decoder address.

I really enjoy watching that little train circle the oval of track!

Here are some quick´n dirty pics:

Back to playing with my train!

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have a short stack of buckwheat pancakes with real NYS Maple Syrup, a couple sausage links and lots of dark roast coffee in my R&GV RR mug please.

Overcast with rain showers at times is what the forecast says this morning.  Currently 61°F with a high of 67°F this afternoon.  Most of the trees on my lot have lost their leaves.  The Flowering quince will be bare by tonight and the crab apple has been bare for a week now.  The Maple next door that shades my solar panels has started to lose a few leaves and by Halloween will dump them all.  Still a couple varietes of trees that haven't even changed color yet.....

I have to decide whether I want to drive to Rochester tonight for the Museum Meeting or stay here and go to the Scout Troop meeting....  Thinking I will stay here as the rut is on and the thruway is littered with deer carcases!  I have to be up and about early tomorrow as I have been informed my Granddaughter #2 is recieving an award tomorrow morning.  Have to be at my son's house by 8:45 to ride over to school for the ceremony....  They make a big thing about the kindergarteners being recognized for doing well.  Whatever ward #2 is getting, this Grandpa is SURE she is most deserving of it!!!

Ulrich, sweet little train!  Good to see you back into the hobby and hope this works out really well for you.  I don't hear any hum at all....  Huh?  Oh that's because I'm deaf.  Sigh

Hope Jeffrey is behaving himself...... Whistling

I shall try to finish up the wiring for the lights and get back to the Dairy itself today.  Only need to make a couple short trips.  One is to pick up more "Pill Pockets" at the vet for Blackie.  He is taking a nap over by the dining room table on the rug while hugging his brother Manét.... (literally, his front paw is on Manét's shoulder).  A few minutes ago they were busy grooming each other.

Have a safe and fun day!

A doctor from the Hanger Prosthetic clinic came today and applied a shrinker to my stump. After it gets shrunk down a certain amount they'll design a prosthesis to fit it and get me back on my feet again.

Got home early this afternoon from our annual wine run to Seneca Lake. I know I'm getting old because even these little overnight jaunts are exhausting. Finally couldn't take it anymore and took a nap after dinner. Just couldn't keep my eyes open. Still, I'm now set for another year as far as my wine cellar (a space in the corner of the basement behind the furnace) inventory goes.

Ray - Hopefully our schedules will work out one of these years. We use to stay 2 nights, as we liked exploring the wineries on the other lakes, as well as some of the state parks, like Taughannock Falls State Park on Cayuga Lake. Been there a couple of times because it's a very interesting trail. But it's impossible for the wife to do much walking, so those kind of activities are a thing of the past & it's become just an overnighter. By the way, if it's Earle Estates Meadery your going to, I think they might be doing craft beer now. I thought I saw a banner on that end of the building when we were leaving. I don't drink beer, so I wasn't particularly interested.

Managed to get in a little railfanning on the way up to Seneca Lake without trying. While on I86 I looked over & spotted a Western New York & Pennsylvania engine with a couple of coal hoppers & 2 pushers on the end. No way to get any photos though.

Hope everyone has had as nice a week as I have.

GOOD FRIDAY MORNING!

October 17th, 2014!

The candles for health success,

and prosperity for all here

are lit for today

~well, the month is now halfway through, and fortunately, here, except for a few brisk days, Sept and Oct. have been nicely mild.

~Wanna bet that when it drops to the 50s here today/tomorrow that it stays there? Others will be warmer, and some will be cooler.

~I went early to PT yesterday. Finally, I think the E-stim she did on the tendonitis in my shoulder actually helped. It didn't feel that way until late last night, though. Right after she did it, felt like more harm than good!

~Microsoft supposedly did updates to windows and I think screwed up the computer.

~Then the cable company started doing somehting to mess up getting online. "we know that there is an outage in your area....."...pish posh on them, we will be dropping a lot of cable next May when the current "contract runs out"! I might give the land line company a try for high speed internet, they offer a package 1/2 hte price of TWC... especially if things get wrose with Comcast and TWC merging.

Today's Quotable Quotes:

{along the lines of Jeffry's statement above:}

I cried because I had no shoes, until I met a man who had no feet.

-anon

Don't be seduced into thinking that that which does not make a profit is without value. -Arthur Miller, playwright and essayist (1915-2005)

Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines.

By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail.

What you get by achieving your goals is not as important as what you become by achieving your goals.

and finally:

I don't believe you have to be better than everybody else. I believe you have to be better than you ever thought you could be.

Now, go Ahead,

Make it a GREAT day!

Jeffrey,

I hope you don't read this wrong, or take it the wrong way, but rather by the way I mean it:

I don't look at you as an inspiration, but I DO rather admire and marvel at your tenacity and ability to know when you need help, and to be willing to accept the help when you need it; and not be stubborn about it, but do it with bravery and some sense of pride. Often, we don't have a choice but to deal with the hand we are dealt , no matter how un-pretty it is, and, you do it well. I know when YOU try, you WILL succeed.

{You are also willing to help others as you go along life's way, and that is good, as it brings goodness back to you.}

For years I was stubborn about not needing help, then when I was ready to receive it, no one was willing to help. Now I will take all the help I can get, and accept it.

One often can not go it alone, even when one thinks one can. I used to be like that.

Now I have learned to ask for help in facing things when necessary, rather than being my stubborn self and trying to go it alone.

I learned a long time ago that being of help is far better than being of a hinderance. I help when I can, but also know my limits.

Now, with things like a more positive attitude {which you have} that I TRY to keep it {just ask my therapist}, and the healing thoughts and prayers for others, makes me a better and more fulfilled person, so I am still the "keeper of the flame" for the candles here for "healing and prosperity". {Prosperity in this case meaning more of "thriving amidst adversary" than of riches of gold and silver}

'Tis far better to smile than to sullenly sulk

~G

Good Morning!!!

Coffee and and order of fried potatoes and gravy with a couple scrambled eggs flung on top please. Thank you.

Tom/Galaxy- yup, very lucky on the draft motor. He put one in which I thought sounded great, but he said it was noisy so he’d be back sometime to put another one in. I said I don’t want him to keep taking the time to run over here and change out motors for free. I’d feel like I was taking advantage of him.

Terry- Well darn on the bigfoot thingLaugh! But it sure does and I’m most glad I wasn’t the only one who saw the likenessTongue TiedLaugh.

Ken- I’m a card carrying member of Sam’s, the $35 business member though I thought it was $45Hmm. Not sure. The elevator pays for it most times. Anyway, I must agree that Sam’s has few items that are better or cheaper than anywhere unless you buy like four 1 gal jugs of BBQ sauce or 5 gals of jalapenos. Case in point Sunbeam bread at Sam’s was $3.80 for 2 loaves. $1.90 a loaf right? At Walmart it was $1.68 a loaf regular price, as it was at Kroger too. Shoot, County Market was $1.85 and they're on the expensive side of stores. I’ve noticed several other things, like soda, are actually more expensive at Sam’s. I do however, like their meat. I know every store gets there meat from a different source depending on their area, so yours and mine and someone elses will be different in that respect. Ours is on the other side of Springfield and we don’t shop there regularly so there may be items that are cheaper. We go there mainly when the elevator or the Foundation needs candies and snacks for their little sale benches. That’s when we mainly buy some meat. Their prices are competitive on that so….go for the cheap one first to see how it works for you. I however can see the $35- $100 spent well in other areas, but that’s me and this is just my opinion. Yours and, judging by the amount of cars in the parking lot, others may vary greatly

Ray- I guess I didn’t realize your wife was taken at such a young age. It saddens me to think….well, I know you’ve heard it a thousand times, but I’m sorry. On a lighter note, I hope your son has a great B-day!

Welp, gotta put a wrap on a bottom sill on a window for a friend. His wife is Vietnamese and she'll stand in the window and watchTongue Tied. Then suddenly you'll realize she's not there any more and she'll appear behind you suddenlyIndifferent. YOu gotta be careful cause she's only like 4'10" so you might trip over her if you're not careful. Then she'll dissappear and reappear in the window and the process starts all overLaugh. Ocasionally she'll be eating somethng and say "Are you hungry? Here, eat this." I don't ask what it is. Last time it turned out to be eelIck!. Todd's don't care too much for eel. I guess she's made it her mission to expand my culinary horizons. I'm uneasy about the fall soup season. She's been talking about blood soup alot lately( doubleIck!.)
Then mow my yard, maybe, then w*rk this evening. Still waiting for the tree in the front yard to dump its’ leaves, the same type tree in the neighbors’ yard is half empty. But not mine. Oh it’ll drop once I mowLaugh.

Ya’ll have a good day, ya hear!!!!

Todd/Ken: about Sam's club:

~I don't find it to be cheaper either, just have the ability to buy in bulk and not penny-anti the "staples".

~Usually, for the prices, Walmart has it cheaper as Todd mentions.

~But we DO use a lot of "table grind black pepper"- so I like it in the restaurant sized shaker, along with parsley flakes {for when I don't have fresh}, garlic powder, minced onions, mediterrainian salt, etc. I can't say if the price ='s savings or not, but I'd be buying tons of little McCormics of those otherwise.

~we also buy TP twice a year...the 48 roll jobbies. Maybe Not much in savings, the price of a single roll at the store, but it seems to save on buying a ton of singles or 6 or 12 packs. We also like there unscented moist wipes.

~we DO use a lot of cough drops to suck on..sugar free ones, THEY appear to be a bargain in the big bag of "X" # {I think 300} of drops for the $7, compared to the exhorbitant price they want for the teeny tiny bags of sugar free drops elsewhere.

~I rarely buy anything much else in such large quantiies there...we don't need 4 gallons on milk in saran wrap either, or two gallon bottles of ketchup.

~Personally I am not impressed with their meats, either, though we usually pick up a rotisserie chicken, if/when they have them. nad buying 25 LBs pacakages of ground beef is way too much for us. That MIght last us all year +, but I have a *small* extra freezer and I have learned as much as the power goes out, NOT to fill it.

~Oh, AND BTW: for shopping at Wally world supercenters, I have found the "great value" "store brand" NOT to be cheaper on some items than the name brand! So you've gotta watch the "gotchas" on THAT! They like to play with your head and sometimes its as much as 25% more for the GV store stuff!

~

~well, the FIL called and has an ambulance on the way. He has vertigo when he stands, so is going to the hospital. We don't have to do anything YET, but...I called MOH to inform of the latest saga wrinkle with the FIL.Probably a med he is taking that is messing with his ticker and head. His ticker is not so great, so he has probelms there along with a few stents.

~Speaking of hearts, I see Ulrich got his back with his new toy! He must be playing now....he hasn't been in.

~well, I have anohter migraine setting in,as the weather is changing again. They get to be dibilitating for me. We have heavy dark block-out drapes on hte windows anyway, but I still wear sunglasses in the house as the light that leaks in is enough to stab me in the eyeballs, and the one LED light is no friend either...I will see how it goes as the day progresses. Last time i took the med for migraines, I started to react to it...I don't want that again, either. I'd best stop typing I spend mroe tiem trying to correct than typing becasue my eyes are getting fuzzys.

*make it a great dayu*

Todd - Boy, do I hear what your saying about Vietnamese diets. When I was in Viet Nam back in 66-67, we could sometimes go into the Province capital, which wasn't really all that big. This was in the Mekong Delta & refridgeration was basically non-existant. Once you saw how meat was stored, you eliminated that. Plus you never saw cats, & they spent a lot of time trapping rats. Made you wonder. At the fish market, the catch was kept live in 55 gallon drums filled with river water. Never saw a fish that I thought looked like a fish. So sea food was eliminated as well. Now poultry. Ducks & chickens were sold live and would be tied together at the feet in groups of about 10 or so. Just flopped around on the ground like a drunken mob. Eggs were layed out in the hot sun on large reed mats. So it was easy to decide not to try those. That left rice. But if you saw how that was grown & fertilized, well, no rice either. Made C-Rations look like a feast. Now to be honest, I've always been sort of a picky eater, what we call around here a meat & potatoes eater. Oh, I almost forgot. some of the sauces I think were left over chemical weapons from WWII.

Tom;

we are used to washing everything in clean fresh water and refrigeration, as you say.

SUpposedly the eggs would have been all right for you to eat as they are kept open-air in other country BUT unwashed...that is supposedly what protects them and keeps them unreefered for a month or so as "fresh" THERE. Here, the WASHING process removes the "grundge" {we don't like the looks or thoughts of} off the eggs, rendering their shells "porous" and therefore open to contamination with nasty little things like salmanella.

SO, supposedly if you get UNWASHED eggs from the farmer, you DON'T have to fridge them!

I would admit the mere processing required for chicken over there would wear me out so as to be tired of it even before even cooking and eating it. Here, once in the late 70s we managed to get FRESH MILK from the farmer {I cna't tell you who or where or I'd have to kill you its illegal to sell unpasturized milk} and made home-made churned butter. It sure tasted GOOD< but I'd hate to have to churn it every day or every other day, or even once a week, which BTW in the old days didn't go "rancid" so quickly and was useable for the week, especially if kept cool-like in a root cellar..

There is a show called "A Taste OF History" On RLTV where a chef cooks as they did in the 1700-1800's in a large open fireplace with a side oven, by using "spider pans", dutch ovens, hanging pots wood colas and the like. The AMount of freshly churned butter he uses in cooking would give a heart surgeon today  a heart attack himself just watching!

ANd the parts of animals he sometimes uses...well, some would turn your stomach, but the recipies Do sound good, amazingly! He LOVES to make tripe {beef tongue} dishes, his personal favorite. Kindneys are another delight he sometimes uses, the natural intestines we all know were {and in some cases still are} used. He LOVes his "woot [root] veg-eh-tay-balls"{he's german} and uses ones we don't see anymore or have fallen out of modern tastes. {who wants turnips and parsnips?}

The food he cooks often takes a LONG time, or short and sweet, but he makes them look/sound so delicious!

~headache is geting better. Had a neighbor call about he ambulance over at the FILs. SHe said he does odd things like leave the garge door open, the car out, {which means his inside/outside door to house which is unlocked always is "open" to view/entry}. She said "you just aging things" he does, though causess her some concern. Will MOH too when I explain it. FIL is getting to forgetful now!

...but she was concerned enough now to call us at the ambulance showing up. I assured her it was nothing serious. YET. SHe did say "sometimes i can't figure him out.." I said "14 years in the family and I can't figure him out either!" SHe laughed.

well, I think I go lie down to make sure headache finishes going away...

Mornin' everyone!

Zoe, I'll have the #2 special, over easy on the eggs, sausage, home fries, and whole wheat toast this morning.  Oh, don't forget the Dark Roast Organic coffee for my R&GV RR Mug please.

Just got back home form Waterloo Elementary School where Granddaughter #2 got an award.  What was the award?  I dunno....  My left hearing aid screen was plugged and I couldn't understand a thing that anyone was saying....  I will find out next time I see my Son.

Galaxy, Uh.....  Tripe is stomach not tongue.  Intestines turn into Chitlins!  Willie "the Lion" Smith did a recording many, many years ago about growing up in the big city and as a young boy being sent down to the slaughterhouse to get a couple 5 gallon buckets of cattle or pork intestines.  That was for the "Rent Parties" back then.  If you couldn't pay the rent, you hired a Jazz Piano Player, charged all the neighbors $1 to come, and send a couple kids to get the intestines.  They turned into Chitlins sooner or later.  The kids would get back to the appartment, set the buckets down next to the Piano, and listen to the music.....  That is why the old "stride Piano" style of Jazz is called "Gut Bucket Blues"!  Not a big fan of Tripe...  It is usually tougher than...  Well, Tripe!  Tongue , cooked right is delicious.  As a kid on the farm we always drank "Raw" milk and made sour cream butter (aka bitter butter).  I never cared for the bitter butter, but my dad was raised on it and prefered it.  He would drink the sour buttermilk by the gallon.  It was supposed to be good for what ails you....  Yuck!

Todd, My wife (and I) was just 40 years old when she died of leukemia.  Our youngest son graduated from High School two months before she died.  It was a tough year for all of us, but for me, we went from a family of 4 to just me at home.....  Sometimes I think I'm still trying to recover from that....  Two years after she passed I weighed 320 lbs.  I am finally getting the weight back down after all that time.  This morning the scale said 245 lbs.  Want to lose another 30.

One of the local fire trucks has been traveling down my street every day for over a week now....  They may be training a new bunch of fireman???

I am hurting today from all the crawling around under the layout over the past couple days.

Later!

Galaxy,, when it comes to adversety, I don't let it stop me. It may slow me down a litttle but I find find a way around it, through it,over it or around it. It's one of th things about me that really impresses people. It can also scare some.

Well:

~Fil home now, his vertigo cleared up and his medicare doesn't cover "observation" hospitalization, so he forwent being checked in...MOH went and got him.

~Headache a dull ache now.

~Jeffrey: I know you do, I will be sending a message along after this posting to you. so look for it.Sorry its not beter news.

Ray: I was naming off various parts of the animal as he cooks them...his favorite is tripe, stomach and the tongue..he admits it's "an aquired taste" but he {chef Walter Staib} loves it so! the only part he doesn't seem to cook...well lets not go there..., although with a tribe in Africa Anthony Bourdain on NO reservations show did eat there..it was a "delicacy" to the tribe who offered Anthony the "best piece"...Hah! NOT me! Of course then again,  Andrew Zimmern on the "I'll eat anything" Bizarre Foods show..has pretty much eaten it all, all across the globe, and more than once! There have only been 3 things he said he couldn't stomach, I'll spare you the details as I don't think I can print it here and dinner is fastly approaching! Yum! Dinner

~ speaking of dinner...light night tonight, I think.

*have a Great evening*

 Evening Dinners

 Flo, Beer Please

Ulrich While I Am not a fan of Engines from your side of the pound (well maybe the steam ) good looking train set. Is Trix sold in the U S ? Will other track and cars work with it?

Sams Club Went back today and bought some more meat. I then went to Shop and Save and Sams was between .50 to $1.00 cheaper per pound. I am guessing with out doing the math I saved around $3.00. Sams is only 5 miles and Shop And Save is 3 miles so gas is not a real factor. More than likely I will join.

Train Front I finally gave the new B&O GP 30 a DC test run last night. It sounded OK and moved fine for a few feet, then locked up. Turn the motor flywheel and moved again and locked up. While it was not clicking, my guess is cracked gears. I have a set handy and will install tonight.

Vince Send me your address, I will take the hopper. Have no idea why I need it? Whistling Just like I don't know why I needed the new GP 30?

Health Front, well the good news is I have lost 5 pounds this month. Bad news is I still feel tired and sleepy all the time. I have not worked out for a week. I am not ready to give up, just need a little more engery.

 See you later, Ken

Evenin' folks!

Janie, a cup of decaf would be great right at the moment...

Muscles are starting to feel a bit better....  Got several sore with all the crawling around under the layout...  Today, I did get lights working where the Dairy will be.  Had to try a couple different things to get the amount of light I wanted inside the Sales area of the dairy.  There will be outside lighting on the front the building as well.  I am waiting some supplies to arrive from Micro-Mark to be able install them.

Galaxy, Sorry....  I missinterpreted what you were trying to say.  When you typed "... Tripe {the Tongue}...." I thought you were explaining what Tripe is...  Of course you know that tripe is very tough and rubbery, and the tongue is very tender.  Pickled tongue was one of my favorite snacks when we had it in refrigerator back when I was a kid!

Any of you know what a guitarist and a large pepperoni pizza have in common???

I went to a joining night for the Venture Crew I am Commissioner for tonight.  There were several young folks looking at joining.  I think they will get 3 new members from the event.  They had a lot of activities for them to do.  The district membership committee (of which I am a member) and the District Executive are a bit worried about the city I live in for Cub Scouts.  They have had several joining activities and only 3 new Cubs have joined.....  All 3 are joining packs I am associated with.  The large and usually very strong pack has not gotten even one new Tiger Cub so far.

This will be a horrifically busy weekend for me.  Saturday is the Rare Milage Fall Foliage trips on the LA&L.  I have to be on the road to Lakeville by 7:30AM tomorrow morning.  Safety meeting with the LA&L and our volunteers is set for 8:45 and it is over an hour drive from my house to get there.  I will be a Car Host on all 4 trips.  I am in the car where the snacks are being sold so there will be considerable traffic from the other cars throiugh my car...  Will need to vigilant about safety.  The trips are sold out, so if you didn't get your tickets, you are outta luck! Whistling  Sunday is the usual Fall Foliage runs between the two museums.  I will be doing my usual Car Host on C-254 all day then.  Just two days left of operations at the museums for the season.

Have a great night!  I most likely won't make it in until tomorrow night...

Oh!  Answer to question above!  Neither one can feed a family of four!

I`m not to sure the issue is cracked gears.........one of my P2K GP30`s has a bad motor.......was causing a short above speed step 14 ( out of 128 ).........I took it apart and ran the motor from a 9 volt battery and it started to click and run very eratic .
