Evening/afternoon all!

Cloudy and 50's as predicted. some rain in the area but not at our house. News just said it is snowing in KC!

Dennis - yes that hit the national news. At some point the issues with mental health need to be addressed. Heard the same from DonB. That does not happen here in Texas, but a couple races here where dems took over repub house seats are showing how Texas urban areas are becoming more like CA...I will be long gone before that change takes hold!

Good Afternoon from overcast 55°F Southern Ohio,

The fall colors were really pretty but did not stay on long.  Over the weekend pushed the leaves down the hill, and it already looks like I never touched them.  We’re seeing the bucks moving too.  Two really nice bucks, and four or five others are regulars at the feeder.

I finally finished back filling the ditch for the new downspout drain, and glad that job is done.  Just when I thought I’d get to put time into the layout, my bride committed me to building a mantle for her sister in the new to them house.  Ordinarily it would not be a big deal but they want the mantle to wrap around three sides as it is one of the fireplaces that sticks out from the wall and is visible on three sides.

I went and voted last Friday and hit the crowd just right, walked in voted and out.

Banks - Thanks for the thought.  The All Aboard stuff is going up in price now.  Easily 50% higher than 3 or 4 years ago.

Got to go; may God bless

Jim

71 and sunny.  Voting was crazy here.  All over the place.  Folks are not informed on who they are voting for.  Some real duds got in and some good ones gone.  That means they will flip again next time.

Don if you waited until Sunday you could of gone to great clips and got it for free. Being veteran, on veterans day they give it free to you or you can get a card to get one later, but must be used before 12/31/2018

Evening All, (its dark out)

Kind of a down day, DID vote!  But, that didn't help, 14 propositions/measures on the ballot, 13 going to raise taxes!!!!  Trillions of $ for the next 45 years!  Then polling place workers didn't help, very few spoke English.  Primarily Cambodian, Korean, and others.  I REALLY felt out of place. Its bad when the workers don't know the alphabet in order to find your name.SoapBox

The highlight of my day was getting a haircut, which was good!  Then came home and reorganized the shed in our backyard till the mosquitos ran me out.

Looking forward to tomorrow!

Hope you all have a great week!

Evening all!

Last day for warm weather. A front hits tomorrow and the pundits claim we will be in the 50's for next 10+ days...10-20 degrees below normal...climate change!

Voted by mail a couple weeks ago. Made several copies!

Went to vote then to Krogers and Aldi's, picked up milk and a spiral ham for Thanksgiving.

Never in the 12 years I have been voting here on the North Bluff have I had to wait to vote till today. Never seen it so crowded especially considering this is a mid-term. Huh? I just pray we can get some civility and compassion for each other back in government. Fat chance. Tongue Tied

So, been working on the 2019 medical enrollment for wife, Think I am going to buck up and go with the BCBS National plan through Cat even though at $366.00 a month,, and that is $177 a month more than the BS UHC Cat network one. At least they cover something, un-like UHC.   They cover way more and that includes 100% covered yearly check-ups and just $20.. to see the doctor without drawing off the deductible . UHC don't pay a dime till your out $800.00 min and many places are dumping and jumping out of that network. BCBS seems to be everywhere.  With her breast cancer history she need better health INS than I do. So I will just have to find a way to make it work. They sure make it hard to get older. Angry

The Bucks are moving!!! Sandra saw two 8 points yesterday together in the drive in front of the house pushing a doe and her fawn.  Full rut is not far off.

Best get moving. Leaves are falling.

Mornin' boys.  Thanks for the nice comments.  I would like to see how our tinplate folks paint these buildings up.  So many small industries can be depicted.  This must be the year for decorating with tinplate.  Yesterday I saw more samples at Cracker Barrel and Kohl's.

Fife went to the link Roy supplied and from when I ordered last week they have reduced the price again.

We voted I even did a write in vote for Frank Eagles. Dog catcher was filled but there was room in the sanitation dept..:)

Brent we did the same as you fixed up a starter home real nice but as the kids entered the school district it was plain to me it didn't cut it. Turns out I was right.

Windy, some rain and lots of wind today.

Aloha. Grey and rainy. Like Kev references, I am glad to have gotten lots of bags of leaves filled before this wet. There's plenty of leaves still on the trees though. Fife, I love that building - I just saw a series like them in that bare metal finish at World Market (where they were pricey) and Hobby Lobby (where they were not pricey). 8n, I love the M10000. Enjoy that streamliner! Buckeye, that basement plan sounds neat. I look forward to hearing more about your plans.

Mornin' Fellas

SJ - We have put a lot of blood, sweat, and tears into this house to make it our own, but with TheVPQ's commute hitting the 1.25 - 1.5 hour mark each way we have to do something. Where we are moving it will reduce her commute to under 45 minutes! While that may not sound like much, it means more time in the evening with the kids. We will have some improvements to make over time, most important will be the trainroom, 2nd office in the basement, hard scaping the backyard (possible pool), and other odds and ends here and there. Just hope this is the last house!

Fife - Nice job on that building! Your talents never cease to amaze me.

Can't remember what else I was going to post... oh well.

Good evening all,

Got a lot of errands done today.  Even mulched leaves again before the rain hits again.  Area with leaves is actually pretty small so it does not take very long.  I know there will be many more passes until they are all down.  Also wrote up the post season report for the soccer team and sent a list of suggestions and ideas to all the pertinent people in the soccer community.  I hope everyone has a good day.  Vote early and often on Tuesday if you are having elections.

It didn't rain today. I wonder why? It always rains.

Met with my basement contractor today to start planning the rooms in the basement. The one room will be designed to look like the inside of an old railroad station. Google Waterloo Amtrak Station and look at the interior photos of what we are attempting. Instead of green, B&O blue hopefully will be used for the trim.

Have a good week.

Evening all!

Wow, hit 78 today, but cooler tomorrow. Maybe some rain Wed.

Shoulda' added (re Tx Mtr Speedway) that as big and as wide as the track is, it's basically a single lane track. Glad Harvick won. And yes the race was pretty boring and yes the stands were empty for the size of that place.

Fife - that building looks great! Nice job!

anj - after several of your planned runs were rained on/out this year, glad you finally got a nice one in!

Leaves, leaves, and more leaves!! Yesterday I got about 15 sweeper loads before the rain so that helped but by the time I was done you could not tell I did a single sweeper load!
So everything was wet today so I did a skim load to see if it would light and it did so about 15 more loads on top of that and now it is starting to rain. Glad I got in what I did. Starting tomorrow the bottom is going to fall out of the weather. Winter is here on The North Bluff!!

Got my last CTT mag and I did like the Menards insert. Otherwise, SOS, I am done with them till they make this site work and safe!!!

Hey, quick flyby.....

Philly Toy Run was great, the weather was beutiful for November and the Corp made out as the Grunts were switching out boxes as fast as us "biker" types could fill 'em up.  This is always a great ride.  Circled past the Art Museum (think Rocky) past Penns Landing and off to the Casino.

Ran by Michaels last night to check out the LeMax offerings and those tinplate structures youse giz have been talking about.  Fife, you did a marvelous job on the factory, really looks great!!

Michaels is running a 50% off, like Northwoods said, just nothing I really need right now.

I think I'm going to pass on the Christmas layout for the firehouse, takes to much time and effort and I can't get it down fast enough per the powers that be.  It sucks because the kids will suffer and miss it.  I was planning on a Polar Express and Blue Comet layout this year.  I'll get the train table upstairs to my house and start building my attic layout.

Raining now and 55, a big time contrast to yesterdays beautiful weather.

Running behind on work, the GM tools were locked out, now playing catchup.....oy.

Hello there,

Another rainy day here, one more Mom thing to deal with then more inside stuff.

Saturday and Sunday were both decent days here but the yard is still to squishy. Saturday after a late start Mrs and I undid Halloween and put out a little stuff for Thanksgiving.

Fife.....you missed a good show Sunday. Lots of new vendors. I got 5 Mantua cars in original boxes for $4 each. Saw an AF whistle billboard in rough shape for $5. Put it down and when I went back it was gone.

Phish I thought of you when I saw an ALL Aboard whistle panel. Only piece the guy had. It was marked $45 and loked complete. Over all I spent the biggest end of 2 hours looking and chatting with people I only see every 6 months. Spent the short afternoon doing some long overdue bush trimming.

Best move on

Prayers for those in need

Good evening all,

Good day.  All the kids made it to the Mass this morning and then we all went to Denny's for 40th anniversary dinner.   Spent the rest of the day enjoying the family.  Ran trains for the grandkids and played some games.  Kids and I worked on the yard a little as well.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Right Roy!!

"NASCAR this afternoon. Texas Motor speedway, fast open high banked track, so could be a boring race if it follows suit to past races there." And it was but at least I was happy with the outcome Roy!! My guy Kevin!!! Boy the stands were empty??  Texas Motor speedway is about 4 miles from my friend's place in Denton.

Well I got some of the leaves up and burnt before the rain this afternoon. The biggest load of the year so far about 15 loads, A huge burn pile and you can't tell I did anything already. A darn bird was pecking on the house so I took him out with a birdshot 22LR shell through the 999 pistol. He won't be a bother anymore. Once those things start you can't stop them short of shooting them. I don't know what it is about the cedar they like so much, but they sure do?? They leave the pine alone??

Was wet today but in the 50s so I just kept working in the yard and driveway on leaves till it started to get dark.

Won't be long here and the leaves will be over at this rate.

Put my 1975 Triumph Trident up for sale on a British Trident bike only site, we will see how that goes. If it sells that money will go to a new gator. If not that will be fine to.

That building looks good in that link Fife! Yes

Roy, happy birthday to wifey!!!  Cake Beer Drinks

Later.
