Evening all!

A nice day here today with temps in low 80's. Warmer tomorrow and then a cool front still on tap for Thurs with a possibility of a little rain.

Busy day today with administrative stuff both personal and work related.

Chief - terrible about the flooding out there. Saw NC governor on TV angry that folks would not evacuate when told.

The Q'back issue continues to heat up now that Dak made the latest Sports Illustrated cover - Who Dak!

Hello all

Busy couple of days. Did some work on the '60 GM bus we want to take to a car show this weekend. Went to the weekly staff meeting and then over to Bill's to try and get the engine mounts in the Datsun. Forgot that it gets dark soon now and gave up and went back to the barn and managed to get it finished up.

Figured out the vacuum issue on the GM coach this morning and pronounced her fit for duty. Came up to work and dealt w/ forgetting my keys and pacing a skunk for a while. Did managed to save the little guy from an owl. It swooped down but backed off either after it realized it was a skunk or maybe got startled by the headlights.

Juggling end of the summer maintenance and startup now at work.

Today (Oct 11) marks the 28th anniversary of my dad's passing. Called my mother who is in Idaho w/ her sister's family who passed away last week. She was feeling pretty down.

Prob go back to town on Thurs (not sure, too many people and not enough rooms up here this week). Hopefully I will be able to put the steering box back in the '38 Yellow Coach if it is finished. They want to take it to Citizen Auto Stage's 100th Annivesary celebration on Friday.

I am also planning on going to visit the Special Collections display on the USS Arizona on Monday. Oct 17 is the 100th anniversay of the ship's commisioning.

Mornin' Fellas

Prepping for the leaves to fall which is always a mess because my two next door neighbors blow their leaves into the woods, then the high winds blow their leaves into my yard. But it is all good. I mulch them with the tractor and blow them into the woods. Have to get the firewood ordered, probably for delivery late next week so I can stack it next weekend.

Probably won't be hearing from Fife for awhile... moving weekend is this weekend.

Prayers for those in need.

Thunder storms over night,

Cloudy today. Making stew in the new crock-pot.

Still fighting this cough, but other issues are getting better. Seems like always something kicking me this year.

Rain last night knocked a lot of leaves off the trees but to wet to burn.

Thunder right now and more rain on the way. Crops are stuck in the fields at this point.

Good Afternoon from beautiful Southern Ohio

We have our last junior high football game Thursday.  We lost one player to a possible concussion and we’re getting one back from a broken arm so we’ll be dressing 14.  The situation makes for a challenge of strategy offensively and defensively.

I completed my oral examination yesterday for the Nuclear Supervisor qualification and certification.  It only took 2 ½ hours of questions and answers.  They can take all day.  I now have 4 more qualifications to complete.

We plan on camping again this weekend, the camper is already set up waiting on us.  I may go out after the game on Thursday.

Bob – Those coaches sound really neat.

Buckeye – Good to see you post

Fife – Prayers the move goes well

Kev – Glad the healing is progressing

May God bless

Jim

Busy day. Mexicans came and pressure washed the house, garage and train box. Tomorrow they prime all. Friday, paint brick, trim and shutters on house. Then garage solid. Train box, all over and trim.

Grady and I cut bushes and small trees from around garage and house. Cut up the one tree that blew over at pond dam. Yes, I am not suppose to do this type of thing while stitches in. If I don't who does?

Seymour Johnson AFB runways under water per TV 5. The highest recorded flood in Goldsboro in history. All our water on all this development rushing east [downhill].  Still going hard in Greenville, NC.  Crested in Tarboro [about 10 miles from farms].  Will take weeks to get back below flood stage in most eastern areas around the three main rivers in NC.

Puke Energy still not got power to all of this county.

Off with Wifey and SIL to Johnny Bulls. The wonderful steak house.

Later.

Evening all,

It hit 89 today. Cool front hits tonight and 74 tomorrow. Maybe some rain tomorrow and Friday. Nice weekend on tap.

LAZ - not sure about York this fall. If I make it - it will be a last minute decision next week.

Bob - good deal on the '60 bus running. Does it have the fail-safe brakes (I.e. Requires air to release them). My best friend when we were in our late 20's bought a Flexible ( forget the year - required air pressure to set the brakes). Parked it at our apartments and it proceeded to roll into another good friends Datsun Z. Whoo there were some words said.

Chief - can you get those guys to work on the inside of the train box so you could finish that layout?

Regards, Roy

Same here Chief, so just take it slow and easy.

I got to get motivated to do something on the layout soon.

This cough thing is sure hanging in there with me.  Ick!

Looking at a lot of flood damage in North Carolina on Facebook.  I have a nephew on the outer banks somewhere near Nags Head I think.  Photos show highway on the coast completely wiped out in some places.  Lots of flooding.

Went out to dinner with friends who gave me an early birthday salute.  This is a big one for me.  Will be 80 tomorrow.  I will stop counting after this one.

Had a lazy day today.  Didn't get up until 9:30AM.  Late breakfast and skipped lunch.  I plan to spend my birthday with my wife tomorrow.

Hey my spam filter caught a e-mail that looks like it is from Doug M/ cnw1995 but nothing in it but a link to who knows what. So it looks like Doug has been hacked.

Where is he anyway?

Happy B-Day Happy Birthday Ray! Happy B-Day

Mornin' Fellas

I survived my first meeting as a Daisy Troop Leader. Looks like we're going to have a lot of fun and probably have our hands full! LOL

My mother's cousin's wife passed away on Tuesday, she has been fighting multiple ailments for a number of years. Thankfully she is at peace, with God, her parents, and brother. We used to visit them every summer, Labor Day Weekend and we would see them at every PSU Home Football game for tailgating. They also drove their motorhome, my parents, and another couple down to Texas in 1989 for the PSU Texas football game, and picked me up in Dallas on the way down. Loads of awesome memories! Will be tough seeing everyone at the viewing tomorrow.

Guten Abend,

I have been busy the past few days.  The wife returned from her trip on Tuesday and we've had our regular running around to do with the kids.  I re-heated some leftovers for dinner and will relax this evening.  The wife is still getting over her jet lag.

I hope all the flooding subsides soon.  I will pray for all of us who are sick and lost loved ones.

Good evening all,

Bill for truck is about what I hoped it would be.  Busy day at work.  New director wanted to have a "clean up" day, but he bought pizza for lunch.   Went to see the "Peculiar Kids" movie.  Started slow but but picked up at the end.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Guten morgen,

Happy Belated Birthday Ray!  Sorry I missed that.

A busy day planned for today.  I will get the kids on the school bus in a few minutes and then head to the office.  The wife will have her eyes dialated around lunch so I will spend the rest of the day "Driving Miss Lacey."  The taxi will continue this evening as the Princess has a dance class.

Have a great day,

Joe

Good Morning from beautiful 40°F Southern Ohio,

TGIF!  I love having Fridays off.

Super busy day yesterday.  Besides work we had our last Junior High game yesterday as the Junior High season is mandated to 8 games and no playoffs the high school has a 10 game schedule with division playoffs.

The boys won 36 - 12.  We lost our starting fullback due to a discipline issue but the remaining 13 really stepped up.  The opposing team’s two touchdowns  were the same long passing play to the same matchup receiver / defender.  We ended up with 5 wins 3 losses.

We’re going camping again this weekend so if someone wants to start the Sunday Photo Fun, please go for it!

Brent - may God have mercy on her soul!  Our loved ones live with us in our memories.

Kev - How did the Snap Crackle and Pop go?

Mike - was it the u joints that failed?

Chief - Prayers for your neck of the woods and the victims of the flooding.

May God bless

Jim

Good evening all,

Quiet, semi-frustrating day at work.  Got some things done, but not like I wanted.  Weather good for walk.  U-joint is what broke on truck.   More problems were found on truck, but is driveable around town now.  Wife and I have to decide a course of action long term.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Guten morgen,

The wife's eye appointment went well and her eyes are healthy.  It's been a while since I last had mine dialated so I am probably due for it as well.  She was unable to properly see for about six hours so I took the afternoon off from work.  I roasted a chicken for dinner and the kids watched some movies.  Today, the youngest's kindergarten class will head to a pumpkin farm to pick pumpkins.  Other than that, we don't have any other plans.

Have a good day,

Joe
