Morning all. You can keep the Grits and the Oatmeal Chief.

Have home nurse coming by around 8:30 to change out vacume bandage. Be glad when that is over with. As that gets very painfull while they are doing it. Hopefully not to bad today. Thats about all she has to deal with today. then 10 I go on my I.V. for two hours ( strong antibiatic ) Then the day is mine lol. The I.V. is every 12 hours for 6 weeks I have like 3 1/2  weeks more to go.

Got a train set in the other day. ( been roughed up ) but the engine does work :) a 2359 B&M but after contacting Roger Carp found out it's actually super O set 13028. Only problem other than the 3349 turbo Missile car I will have to replace the rest of the cars to complete the set, including the marine Submarine car # 3820 which is an expensive car.

Not much else going on here. Talk to you all later

Guten tag,

Been busy the past two days.  The nice weather ended for now.  It started raining last night and has continued so far this morning.  I know the rain is good but it does alter our plans for today.  Our village is having a carnival and I planned to go for a bike ride with the older son but those outings will be postponed.

The wife and I celebrate 22 years of marriage today.  We wanted to go our for dinner but the restaurant we wanted to try is completely booked.  Oh well, today is the perfect day to relax inside and make a stew.

Have a great day,

Joe

Good evening all,

A potential winnable game turned into a 6-0 disaster for "my" soccer girls.  Granddaughter's team won, but grandson's lost.   Did 6.6 miles in 1:40.19 for a 3.9 MPH pace.  Was a little tired after this jaunt.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Evening folks.

Beat. We did the State Fair today. Traditional first day of the fair, but it actually opened yesterday. They used to call Friday a pre-opening.

Highlights were the Marine Drum and Bugle Corps performance and a cowboy that led/drove a 6 horse team standing with one foot on each of the rear two horses. The horses were not tied together and all he had were the reins for each horse. They ran all around the arena including figure 8's. Capped it off by driving the team over a jump gate. Impressive.

Joe, happy anniversary !

Regards, Roy

Guten morgen,

Thanks for the anniversary wishes.  Since the original restaurant we wanted to go to was booked, I did some research and found a different one.  It turned out to be fantastic and we had a great night.  The beautiful weather has returned and it will be a sunny day with a high of 66.  We will go to church soon and then it might be a good day for a bike ride with the older son.

Good day,
Joe

Watched the two grandkids' teams play.  Grandson won, granddaughter lost.  Stayed way too late up there with no time to wind down.  Should be quiet day at work as pain one will be gone.  Not much else going on.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Mornin' boys.  Sunny in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Had to clean up tree debris from rainstorms this AM.  Pod is only 25% fill.  Lots o' teeth nashin' over what gets pitched and what is "permitted" into new Fifedom.  Already have pile for dumpster, which comes this afternoon.

Highlight of my weekend was having my kids sit down for dinner at the table yesterday evening.

Guten Abend,

A busy Monday here and the rain was back.  Tomorrow, the wife heads back to the States for a week so I will be juggling the schedules of three busy kids.  Fortunately, I have the ability to take time off from work which will provide me the flexibility I will need.  I'm off to run the Princess to dance class now.

Fife - I'm glad you had a nice family dinner; it becomes more difficult as they age.

Hello all

Well the opening and dedication of the new building went well yesterday. Even #135 did her bit and ran well and broke the ribbon.

Everything pretty much out of the trailer now exceot the cleaning stuff. Was hoping to be done w/ that by now but the opening took a lot of my time.

Jim - motorhome has both tanks, will only be using the graywater tanks

Banks - GM called them the Powerglide, there's one in the '65 4dr

Helped Bill bring down his '31 Dodge 4dr sedan to the building for the show on Friday. That was fun. Did have to pull it a ways as the fuel system seems to be blocking up. Since it is down here for a bit I will have a look under it. Bill can't see much when it is dark.

Need to make a list of stuff I need for the plumbing and then head back to the trailer and grab a few more things.

P.S. - realized I posted this in the Sept thread this morning.

Good morning all,

On clear liquid diet today for procedure tomorrow.  Start taking the sani flush tonight.

Went to last TTOS meet before Cal Stewart yesterday.  That will be in November.  Looked around and even had my checkbook with me but did not see anything that rang my bell.  Friend Larry was there but Don was a no show.  Saw Vin Scully's last call of a baseball game between the Dodgers and the Giants in San Francisco.  He was the best!  Will miss him in the future.

Got a nephew in Jacksonville, N.C. that seems to be catching a lot of fish lately.  Drum and speckled trout mainly.  Wish I was there.

Read something in the paper about our light rail line future extension from here to Claremont East of us.  I figure I will be about 90 when it's done.  By then I won't care if I ride or not.  However, they did complete the section between here and downtown L.A.  I only rode it once so far.  My son takes it to work and says standing room only a lot.  They plan to add more cars/trains.  This line is on the right of way of the old Santa Fe Pasadena subdivision.  Used to see the Super Chief go through here back in the 70's.

My son came over this weekend and got my printer hooked up to my new computer.  Hope this thing holds up for a while.  I want to get everything out of my old one so I can retire it.

later,

Ray

Afternoon Fellas

I haven't had as stressful a past 5 days in a long, long, long time!

It all started Thursday when I got a call from TheQ, who I had just dropped off at BWI for her trip to Montreal for a speaking engagement. Her flight to Philly was delayed so she was going to be missing the connecting flight to Montreal. So American Airlines put her on an Air Canada flight (and ensured her that her checked baggage would make the connecting flight). Well next I hear she has landed in Philly (all is good). Then 40 minutes later she is informed Air Canada has cancelled the flight to Montreal. Then an hour later she tells me American has rebooked her for a flight from Philly to Burlington, VT and she will have to drive 75 miles to Montreal. So she books a car with Enterprise.

About 10pm I get a call that she is in Burlington, but her checked bag is not. That the bag wasn't transferred to American. But that it would be in Montreal on Friday. She can't get a GPS because Enterprise doesn't rent them on one-way trips from The USA to Canada... but she bought a car charger and has the route logged with Google Maps on her phone.

Get msg that she is in Canada.

FFWD to Saturday. She is at the airport in Montreal, and American has delayed her flight to Philly and she won't make her connecting flight, so they are putting her on an Air Canada flight to Philly. 2 hours later I get a txt that she is in Philly. I txt and ask if I should come get her, told to wait.

30 minutes later I get a txt to please come save her from the blackhole, hell known as Philadelphia International Airport... get the kids ready and loaded and head out. I get to Philly @ 1pm and TheQ is not a happy woman at all. The entire trip home she is on and off the phone with American trying to locate her bag.

OH - and I get a call from my renter on Saturday on my way to Philly telling me that Sears won't install the new refrigerator because there is no shutoff for the ice maker line behind the fridge (it is in the basement at the valve from the main line)... so I had to drive to Pittsburgh yesterday to install a new shutoff valve for the ice maker line... and come to find out that the new fridge is too wide to fit in the opening... Bang Head

That was the short of it... I am still exhausted... ZzzZzzSighZzzZzz

Evening gang,

88 today and now may hit 90's. Cool front for next weekend though.

Brent - Ouch! That wore me out just reading/thinking about it. Glad the Q got home ok.

Ray - I hate that prep process. After my last one on a 5 year cycle they moved me to a 10 year cycle. My father had colon cancer so it is important for me to do it.

Roy, my mother @ 32 and my dad @ 67 both died from colon cancer. I have been getting them every 3 years since I was 30 years old. I don't like the prep but it is way better than the problem. The whole process is way, way better than the first one I got. Black and white screen, no seadation, lots of air, and a lot bigger tube. Surprise

Just this last time they put me on a 5 year plan. Over the years I have had 5 or 6 polyps removed, Why I am stil alive today.

So Ray, be glad and hope you the best of luck on the check up.

Been a week here without sun and has been cool and damp. Yuck. I have spent some time with the trains. I have been getting better each day but still not ready to start cutting and stacking firewood.

Good evening all,

Long day at work as all sorts of frustrations occurred.  Boys team lost tonight and my team lost 1-0.  Only the high school girls and the grandkids are still playing (besides the Indy 11).  I hope everyone has a good day.

Morning all, on hour three of a two hour I.V. Angry and it looks like it will actually take four hours. I will be glad when this and the vacuum is done and over with ( they have like a vacuum on the spot the Defibrillator was to get it to heal properly with out a pocket there so it won't get infected.

Train wise I just picked up train set 13028 in rough shape ( didn't know it at the time) well I need to replace the cars except one ( turbo missile car) I got one off the bay last night, the hard one to get for the set 3820 ( marine flat with Sub on it) I have the engine 2359 B&M, the 6017 B&M caboose, and the missile turbo car. I'm going to need thou 3665 minute man rocket firing boxcar, 3470 Target launching car, and 943 exploding ammo dump

Then I discovered I actually have most of set 1633 in my inventory so I just have to get like 3 cars for it and I have the hard items already. ( the Navy A&B units and the Navy Caboose. ) the other items needed are the 6544 missile firing car, 6820 helo with rockets on it, and 6830 non operating Sub car.

So that ought to keep me busy for a while getting those cars.

Talk to you all later have a good day.

Guten morgen,

The wife made it the airport just fine and her flight departed Frankfurt about an hour ago.  After the kids left for school I went to the office for a few minutes and then off to the gym.  I had a few other errands to run and now I am home for some lunch.  I will probably knock out some house chores until the kids return from school.  This evening will be a bit busy as the older boy has a soccer game and the Princess has ballet class - dad's taxi will be running late.

Brent - I hope your wife's speaking engagement went well, especially after that ordeal.

Good day,

Joe

Demay - It will be even harder when we are scattered across 4 states...

88 - I loathe the ordeal of air travel.

Fifedom slowly getting loaded into POD.  Gave the pool table away to a guy who sells them on the side.  Found out he wanted this particular one for hisself, as his mentor had constructed same in my basement before he died of cancer.  A couple of stubborn screws holding layout together.  Using the benchwork as bulkheads in the POD.  Walk-thru Friday @ 9.

Our O's in 1 game playoff tonight vs. Jays.  Think celebration for achieving the 2nd wildcard birth (equivalent to kissing one's sister) was a bit immature. Ick!Ick!
