Slept bad but without drugs, Wish the arms would heal up soon. This head cold is no help. Ick!

63 heading to 75  with plenty of cloud cover.

No big plans. Maybe stock some wood on the porch. Feels like early winter.

I did clean the glass doors on the fireplace yesterday. I hate that job , but she looks like new for now till the first good fire.

Fife good luck with the walk through.

RT, sounds like you have a plan with the trains. I love those 60s military sets.

Good Afternoon from beautiful Southern Ohio,

I’ve been busy so trying to get caught up.

Joe – Happy Anniversary!!!  It takes work and the grace of God to make it work.

Brent – Q’s trip sounds like a real bad day

Kev – It is progress

May God bless

Mornin' Fellas

Definitely less stressful day yesterday!

TheQ tried to keep her wits about her through it all, still not done with it as she still doesn't have her luggage and she leaves on the 16th for San Fransisco for the week and really needs that bag!

Fife - I try my hardest to not fly American, and definitely never use Philly for connecting flights. TheQ's description of PIA is very accurate!

Roy - It was almost as exhausting typing it as it was experiencing it!

Oh - and I forgot... when we left PIA I had forgotten that you NEVER under any circumstance, drive I76 through Philly! I should have gone South to I476 and avoided that disaster known as The Schuylkill Expressway (aka Sure Kill Expressway)!

Roy, I have to get one almost every year now because of my problems.  Anyway on the downhill side of this time.  Finished the prep, now just getting rid of it before my appointment later today at the hospital.

Evening all.

Kevin you'll love this one. After a busy morning about 3 P.M. I was sitting at my desk in my room and just looking at my trains. What do I see ( LOL) on one shelf I have a extra 6544 missile firing car. Well that's one I don't need now Big Smile. I know I don't have any of the others I say I need. Think I'm going to clear two shelves that have some misc. trains on it and start putting what I have of the two sets on there to get the sets started anyway. That will keep me in line of what I still need.

Other than that not much going on here today.

Do have some concern about Hurricane Mathew thou. We should at minimum they say get tropical storm winds and rains here.

Hello there,

in the Moon Township Extended Stay America being disappointed. My York trip is off. The @#$%(*&)&%$%^%& county Accessment board scheduled my appeal hearing for Oct 21 @ 10:45and they will not reschedule. If I don't show my property tax will go from $1,300 a year to just shy of $6,000. I'm hoping to get th jump more manageable.

The good news is within a few weeks this Wally World will be complete and work should get less stressful.

Think I'm gonna copy this to the "other" pot and go to bed

Good evening all,

Another long day at work and for once it was not due to either pain one or pain two.  Mostly software stuff.  Weather is really nice.  Went to see "Magnificent 7".  Good flick.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Banks, that stinks, I will trade with you, we pay just shy of $6,000 now on 8.2 acres.

I would love to get it down to $1,300, heck in Plainfield we paid just over $4,000 on a lot with a house and garage that was 114' x93'. So out here with some land I don't feel so bad, at least till now. Sad I guess if we had a horse or something growing I could sell we could grab the Ag tax rates but  they make it hard here so the cat George don't count. Wink

They still call them family farms here, but none here are less than 5,000 acres anymore and they still get the breaks the small farms needed, some are 20,000 acres and bigger. I do still know one family still running a 160 acre farm but they have full time jobs because the farm can't support them. It is sad. When I was a kid our farm was only 120 acres and it was hard then, I hope somehow it all works out.

Better here than watching the junk on TV tonight.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Fife,

Did I read that you'll be near Deep Creek.  That's about 1.5 hours from me.

I'm stepping up my project efforts. I got the 736 Berkshire done, and will get back on the Flyer 785 coal loader. I also got a AF K325 Hudson and 356 Silver Bullet in, along with another AF set. RT is a bad influence ;)

I'm glad this is done :D

Evening,

Pretty warm today 88-90. 90's until Friday when a cool front hits and then possibly 70's for weekend.

Nothing else to report today.

Guten morgen,

Day 2 of just the kids and me.  The kids left for school about an hour ago and I will be going to the gym shortly.  Then just some odds and ends to take care of around the house and a brief trip to the grocery store - boy, I know how to live it up.  Have a great day.

Fife - Sorry about the O's last night, I was pulling for them.  It is nice to see the AL East acquire both WC spots.

Jim Phish - Yes, it does.

Mornin' boys.  A crisp blue 55 in the Mid-Atlantic region.  Marina sent me yatchett prep for Matthew.

Sore from loading fifedom into one of two receptacles.  My car partner helped with the heavy stuff, the niece took the princess bunk beds, my sister took the dining set, Kelly's sister took the couch, etc...  Place has the appearance of being "house poor".  Probably be sitting on our beach chairs tonight.

Keep having these surreal experiences during this process.  Been long time acquaintances with the dumpster guy (from my days patroling the country-side).  His helper was a bespectacled red-haired young man.  The driver asked if I recognized the helper, and he kinda looked familiar to me.  Turned out to be one of three siblings that I quietly played Santa to for several years, after their father was killed during an ill-advised transaction.  Wow, how lives intertwine sometimes.  The driver adopted him a few years back, and he is doing fine in life now.

Redfire - 736 looks sweet!  Closer to Cumberland, than Oakland.

Gotta get the grandson off to nursery school, then get things finished up around here.  Long, hard day ahead.

Wow - obviously a slow day on the 'Pot today. Fife - you da man. I dread having to clean out for a downsizing. The problem here is a house half the size of the one we are in now would cost twice as much as what we could get for our present house. And taxes here are ridiculous. They are approaching what the house cost on a monthly basis. So we are stuck at the moment.

Evening all.  Cloudy and cooler.  Not from Matthew.  Front that may help blow him out to sea.

Yesterday was all day at farms getting feeders and stands ready.  Today has been walk to school day so was at elementary schools walking with kids.  Then town stuff.  Did have to go to the Dr.  Another one tomorrow.

Hope all OK.  Have a good one.

Good evening all,

Better day at work.  Pain two was gone.  Nice weather for walk.  Talked to "my" soccer girls before tomorrow's first sectional game.  I fear it will be a disaster.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Evening all, getting ready for my evening I.V. So the next two - three hours I'm going to be attached to that. Oh joy ( NOT!) But it's part of my healing process so we will do.

Train wise I found, and bought one of the cars I'm looking for ( the 6830 submarine car with original submarine ) it was like $53 but had like $31 in ebay bucks so I only paid like $22 for it.

Hope all have a good day have to run wife calling to get I.V. going

RT, Angel don't sound like any fun at all.

Serviced the leaf sweeper for the new season and not a day too soon. Leaves falling pretty good today.

So It looks like IRM is in the winter hours and not open on weekdays. Bummer.

Guten morgen,

We definitely have fall weather now; the highs are in the low to mid-50s and it is usually partly cloudy.  At least there is no rain so we can comfortably do things outside.  The kids have a half-day of school today and are off tomorrow and Monday.  So, the kids and I will travel to another part of Germany today and sightsee the next two days.  Two highlights of the trip: Trier, the oldest city in Germany; and Burg Eltz.

Fife - It is amazing how we can be so connected.  Kudos to the driver for adopting him and  helping him.

Mike C. - My older son's soccer team has not won a game and has taken some thrashings from these German teams.  The worst yet was on Tuesday night - 19-0.  Our defense is obviously bad and I hope the coach makes some adjustments.  Our goalie is actually quite good and makes many great saves.

Good day,

Joe

Evening all!

Pretty warm here at 90, but front tonight with possible rain and predicted high tomorrow of 75. Hope if turns out that nice.

SJ - you guys have a great club. We had one for a while but they moved across town for meetings, started meeting earlier which required me to drive in evening rush hour traffic. A couple of us dropped out as it was not worth spending an hour to hour and a half one way to get there.

Good evening all,

Just as I feared, "my" soccer girls went down in flames 3-0 tonight.  Some lapses cost them dearly and they never effective offensive threats.   It was a shame as the other team was not that good.  If we played like we were capable of, we should have won handily.   Long day at work as well, but good weather for a walk.  I hope everyone has a good day.

Colonoscopy went well.  However, next day had some G.I. problems until I took some medicine.  Still haven't figured out what the next step is.  Doctor referred me to another doctor to "educate" me about the new medicine he wants to put me on.  Problem was that the doctor I was referred to did not understand why he sent me to her.  She says he should be the one prescribing any medicine for me.  Put in call for my doctor and still waiting for a call back.  Meanwhile, I have developed something that feels like broncitis.  My primary doctor gave me some antibiotics  for that but still don't feel too hot after two days of using it.  My primary doctor is recovering from recent knee surgery and is unavailable until November so I'm dealing with strangers.  Would like to visit my wife tomorrow but don't know if I will be well enough.  Been a rough week so far.

Guten morgen,

The kids and I had a nice drive to Spangdahlem, Germany, yesterday.  On the way we stopped at a wildlife park for a couple of hours and had a fun time.  We had dinner, settled in to our hotel room, and then watched "Superman, The Movie."  Today, we will either visit a castle or Trier.

SP - I hope you feel better and get some answers on your meds.

Good day,

Joe

Good Morning from beautiful Southern Ohio

It has been a busy week.  Finished HazMat Refresher training at work, finished the performance evaluations for my Nuclear Supervisor Qualification and will have Oral Boards next week.

The boys won our Football game last night 50-0.  The other team struggled.  We tried to dial the kids back in the second half, but with 13 dressing for the game it’s not like we could pull all the starters.

We are going camping this weekend, and most likely will not have internet.

Would one of you please start the Sunday Photo Fun?

Banks - Prayers for you Mrs.

Need to load up the camper.

May God bless

Morning.  Rainy.  Storm headed this way but to stay off shore.  Say may get lots of rain.  Prayers for FL, GA and SC.

Had a big cyst removed yesterday.  Short notice.  Went to surgeon yesterday morning.  Said come back at 2.  Didn't stop 81 MG aspirin.  Had a bleeding problem.  Took two tries to stitch it up and stop bleeding.  Started bleeding after I got home.  Even into last night.  Hope stopped.  Called on call number.  No reply after lady said she would page.  Surgeon investigating why and what happened.  Also, my admin friend with hospital is too.  Got to shower and get ready for meeting later.

Only one meeting this afternoon.

Staying in.

Special prayers for Mrs. Banks.

Have a good one.

Joe - Trier is certainly beautiful. If you ever get a chance, check out Nideggen. I spent a lot of time there training while stationed in Geilenkirchen.

Good morning,

Cold and windy, acorns and leaves falling. Need a hard hat to walk through the yard. High of 69 today.

Looks like the storm isn’t going to be as bad as they all thought. That is a good thing.

Chief. Don’t bleed out on us!  Surprise

Ray, Doctors,,, what can one say. I have had my fill of them this year. At least your test went well.

Banks, Prayers sent that it is early and all will be fine for your wife. Angel

Hello all

Nice morning here on the mountain.

Banks - thoughts and prayers for the Mrs.

Chief - I hope that all gets sorted out.

A few projects to finish up here today and then head home in the afternoon. Hopefully this weekend should be a bit slower. Still can't quite get used to the idea that I don't have to back to the trailer.

Will continue to work on some stuff on the motorhome and get things settled and put some parts on the Datsun.
