Been traveling the last week.  My wife and I drove to Michigan over the weekend, then I had business in Windsor, Ont.

I just got home last night, while my wife is going to stay in Michigan this month to help her mom get around to doctors appointments and other similar errands.  For all of the tests her mom has had in the last couple of weeks, none of them have been conclusive.    Her next step is a liver biopsy.

Not going to be board this month, though.  I have a list, which includes things like lining up some needed house foundation work, painting a room, sorting, straightening, etc., etc., etc., etc.....

This weekends project will be getting the lawn mower back into service.  It is a battery powered electric.  The batteries are toast.  I got 5 or 6 seasons out of them, so I figure that is pretty good.  Drove to the Batteries + store in the next larger town tonight and bought a new pair of batteries - ones with higher amp-hour ratings than the original ones.  Only problem is, the terminals are not the same, so they don't package like the originals.  I'll make them fit, even if I need to add a 'power bubble' to the battery compartment on the mower.  A 3-d printer would be handy for this project.

All for now.

V8 - I know exactly what you mean.  I was going to make some sort of 'old' comment here, but I just remembered that I did the same thing tonight - tried using the wrong password on the downstairs computer and was starting to wonder what the heck got updated and why won't the password work anymore.

Morning.  Had T'storms from 10 to past midnight.  Last line had some small hail in it.  No damage as I can tell.  Just loud.  Sunny and 69.  May have more this evening.  One part of the county last night had 5" of rain in a short period.  Prayers for tornado victims.   Heard John's Mom not doing well.  Hope she is better.  Prayers.  Have a good one.

Morning all!

Angel for 8n's MiL and Hudson John's mom

Dennis - don't feel bad...I have a 5 page Word doc with all my PWs, User names, which e-mail address I used to register, and the web address/name of the service...Ugh...

Cool here - to be 72 today and I think the same for tomorrow - nice and crisp this morning. Did not get any rain last night.

Cleaned out my closet yesterday and with some other stuff, took 6 garbage bags of clothes and 1 bag of bedding stuff to Goodwill yesterday. I am far from being finished on this. Now I need to check the clothes I did not throw out to see if I really want to keep or donate.

anj - great idea! I'm in! And how about a sound bite of the RR with the open headers? I had a red 1970 Plymouth Satellite (same body/platform as the RR) with the 383 when I was in school - got about 6 mpg, but gas was cheap and gas stations were plentiful in Houston!

Have a great day all! York comith!

Regards, Roy

Good morning,

Well plenty of Tornado damage about 60 miles north. Wiped out Fairdale IL. but no one got killed or hurt bad so that is good. They had over 20 min of notice so that saved a lot.  Not a lot of population in the area helped to.

Prayers for 8N and John's moms

I think I will start washing the front porch railings so I can stain it. That should keep me going.

RT, I stand corrected they have now found two who died in the Fairdale tornado and one in very bad shape that may not make it. Tongue Tied

Forgetting is part of growing up. I know, I didn't feel like saying growing old.

A few months ago I called the credit union(I thought) to complain that I couldn't log into my account. After about five minutes with customer service I discovered I was talking to my Credit card bank...Duh. having so many different PWs is crazy.

I hear you SJ,

Like Roy, I keep all of my passwords and web links in a word file that I keep off of the laptop so they are secure. Way tooo many of them and they just keep making you make them longer and longer. No way could I remember them all without my cheat sheet.

All of the front porch pickets are now clean and when dry in a few days ready for stain.  Indifferent

Afternoon Boyz and gurlz !

Been off for awhile, boogered up the back(twice) and the muscle relaxants and pain killers really made me goofier than normal as well as really sleepy most of the time. Even when semi-lucid it was just to uncomfortable to sit for any period of time.

No museum today, getting a bit "stir-crazy". Be galad when it is fully healed.

Doug, That Lionel link about the "Train Wreck" was interesting. Seems as though the state would have required that the studio clean up the site after filming. Wonder how much "hazardous" materials were/are still there ?

Seems like I am forever contacting sites to be able to get my passwords that I forget, especially the ones that require a high level of complexity to the password.

Got my Dr apointment for an "electrophysilolgy" test, from what I have found on-line it sounds like it will be a rather interesting day. Whistling

Prayers for 8n's MIL and John's Mom.

Time for another round of drugs which also means nap time.

Later all !

P.S. A YORK gathering would be cool, but extremely doubtful that I could make it.

TGIF............................................

It has been a long week. On Easter Sunday my phone started to buzz while I sat in the pew at church just five minutes into the service.  It was my Mom.  I darted out the back to the library and called her back.  It was what I expected; my step dad had passed away.  He and Mom had been married just a few months less than 59 years.  So the gathering of the family began.  The funeral was Thursday with a military ceremony at the gravesite.  The death was expected.  He had been in the nursing home for over four years with Alzheimer’s.

RT - that would have been funny - wish I had thought of it!

DougdaG - get better soon!

Buckeye - Angel for your family.

Kev - 60 mi - that was a little close...

Spent the afternoon modifying a queen/king metal bedframe to fit a double bed. Unclear to me why they don't work that way anyhow. However - It was a very pleasant afternoon and worked with the garage door open.

Have a great evening all!

Good evening all,

Thank to Roy, Banks and others for the prayers for my terminally ill sister.

Condolences to all of you who have lost loved ones lately and prayers for those in need of them.

Had a big meeting with my financial advisor on Wednesday.  He is trying to figure out a way for me to be taken care of if I get sick and cannot help my wife for some reason.  It all sounds good on paper and will rely somewhat on my assets but I have to pass a blood test and minor physical.  I have already had a verbal interview to try and qualify for this program.  However, I am not holding my breath.  I am not in the best of health either.

Probably going out to eat tonight, mass tomorrow night and a TTOS meet on Sunday if I'm up to it.  My son will stay with my wife while I'm gone.

Buckeye, sorry to hear about the passing of your relative with Alzheimers.  My wife has not been diagnosed with it yet but she might have it too.

Lots of Dr. appointments for her next week.  We are seeing three of them on different days.

later,

Ray

Kev - 60 mi - that was a little close...

Roy, Most know Tornados are close to us. We lost everything in an F5 that hit our hometown in Aug of 1990. 16 houses on our road "Vista Lane" and none were there after it hit. So It always shakes us up to see others go through that having been there. It hit Vista Lane just before it hit the Plainfield High School a block away.

Cool out tonight and the wind has died off.

Prayers for John's mom and 8N's MIL.

Lots of prayers lately... Angel for Buckeye and SPRay.

Although I haven't met most of you, I definitely feel that this group has become rather close over the years.

I know as we grow older the inevitable happens, just makes you realize how short a time we have together.

God bless you all.

Hello all

Another quiet night on the mountain.

Lots of thoughts and prayers going out.

Was thinking about using the paypal money I made from the boat kits to maybe finally spring for one of those Williams 10 wheelers. Turns out they are now in the $250 -350 range. Just not going to spend that kind of money on one engine. I guess I'll just wait until they start to come up for sale used.

Rich - we started the Corvan last summer w/ no exhaust. No muffler, no exhaust pipe, just manifolds. Wasn't as loud as we thought w/ the manifolds dumping out the front of the engine. A few months later we helped another guy in the club start a car w/o the manifolds, just the 6 exhaust stacks pointed strait down. That sounded like some kind of WWI aircraft engine.

Got the #60 trolley ro tinker with. Need to check out the Marx e-unit I got for it and then start modifying the body I got to go w/ it.

Mornin' boys.  Breezy, blue skies and 49 today.  Laundry this morning, then dinner with friends at the Nauti-Goose (a great Rails & Sails location).  Yesterday was "opening day" at the boatyard.  Scrubed the outside of the yatchet, top to bottom.  In the next week or so, I'll do a quickie bottom job, throw a new waterline stripe on, then splash.Pirate

Broken Heart for those of us suffering losses right now, especially my buddy Hudson.

YORK is great, but I certainly would love a big get-together in Sandy-Eggo.

Good morning all,

Hope everyone is doing fine.  A while since I posted here.  The Sun is finally out, the last we saw of it was last Sunday. It's been rainy or cloudy or both every day this week, but we didn't actually get much rain, just drizzle all day long, only about 1/2" for the week.

Looking forward to York on 22nd & 23rd.  Seems like it's a week later than normal to me.  Will be joining the gang at Round the Clock on Friday morning.

Thoughts and prayers with John and Ray.

Happy for Don's mobility, it's been a long recovery.

Later.

Nice morning on The North Bluff. Warming to mid 60s.

I am working on staining the porch railings and the back deck this week. Got some of both done already. So at least I am doing something.. Un-like Don and the left coast guys I have to work around the weather. But that is okay with me. Got to get the porch railings done before wifey's flowers get too big or she will kill me. Surprise

Thinking of all of you going throught losses and strife. Angel

A trip to Krogers is on the book as well today.

I see the crazy page number thing is still working well. Makes it hard to find where you put a post. Junk in,,Junk out. Hmm

Afternoon all!

Stunning afternoon here. Enjoying an adult beverage on the patio.

Continued Angel for those in need.

Got the lawnmower out and got it running. Assumed our HS lawn mower would not make it today due to typical Sat school activities and it is supposed to rain tonight and tomorrow. Got most of the back yard mowed and he showed up - soooo I let him finish the job - sweet!

Have a great afternoon all!

Might id I can get it running get a new one anyway and take this one up to the auction house and let it go any way.

Been a relaxing day moved everything from upright freezer back to medium chest freezer as the upright cools good but seems to freezer burn every thing no matter what I have it set on. So will take it to auction house its only like 1 1/2 years old.
