Good Evening All !

Wonderful day spent with family and extended family. Got maybe one more load for the dishwasher, but it can wait til tomorrow after the museum run. Monday will be Kid's Club Fun Run.

Chief, Does a Violin came with an option like a Player Piano ?  Laugh

Listening to a Statler Bros Christmas CD. Thumbs Up

Thinking back to when I was given my first train:

Doesn't see much track time, but it is still the Queen of my fleet.
Hope all had a great day, I know I did !
Nite all.

Good Day after Christmas!! CB - Don't feel bad...I'm working also!! Got home after work on Wednesday and napped, did the lasagna then went to a friends house for Eve festivities. Picked up Mom at 1030 and headed to Christmas Eve services, and bed after at 130. Was up at 830, got the turkey and the ham started, then at noon, everything got into the oven. Craved and sliced, food was ready by 130PM. We ate and laughed until 930PM......where I collapsed. Talked to my Princess 3 times yesterday. Miss her especially this time of year...her friends are all great kids and they support each other. She got all the presents I sent her and friends. Her Mom tried (and ultimately failed) to throw a guilt trip on her. Barbara used some of the brown sugar to make brown sugar and cinnamon pancakes and the ex freaked. Turns out there was more than enough brown sugar.......and so it goes.... Hope you guys had a great Christmas.....I'm just exhausted...lol Chief with a fiddle? Why do I think of banjos?????

Sunny and 40s today. No snow although some of Mich. got snow for Christmas. We spent Christmas with our kids, had lot's of food and good company. This would have been just another work day for me too.

Good afternoon,

An easy day for us.  The wife and mother-in-law went shopping this morning while the kids and I relaxed.  We're watching some football now before we go visit some relatives this afternoon.  Tomorrow, we drive back to Ohio.

I received two train gifts: The Polar Express train set and the Made in USA USAF tank car.  I am quite happy, especially since the PE set was such a great price from Menard's.

This LionChief Pacific is amazing.  Track is at normal full power for my TMCC and all I did was place it on the track, turn on the remote and it is fully operational.

What I want to know, Buckeye, is which grandchild is your favorite?  They all are laying claim to your railroad empire.

In order to save you from playing favorites and creating family discord, you can just leave it all to us......except for the Chief because he wouldn't appreciate a genuine heirloom of yours.  Stick out tongue

Buckeye,

The grandson's LionChief Dinosaur Diesel Starter set worked great to. All he wants to do is bring it to Grand-pa's and run it on our layout.

As for Christmas: We had a good day. Some Day Maybe proposed to Katie in front of everyone. No date set tho. So SDM may become a SIL after eight years and two kids. The Grinch did show up in Michigan and Missouri and a few other spots best I can tell but a good Christmas all in all. Hope the same was had for you.

Today was way out of the normal here with 50 degrees and sun. WE will pay for it Doug!

RIJack, good to see you. You too Joe!

BTW,

We will be changing our e-mail address as of the first of the year so adjust your bulk mailing addresses to remove me. TKS,

I will be adjusting ours when we get the new provider. Like Christmas cards less ever year. Digital detox is a good thing.

 Happy New Year,

Belated Merry Christmas to all. Wonderful day yesterday. Our son and his wife are with us for 3 days or so. Santa was very generous. I got a few sweaters/sweatshirts. I got a standard gauge WM cattle car and  O gauge Camelback locomotive, both are items I picked up at York. Love having some time off. I needed this break.

Good evening all,

Another good day.  A bit quieter as the younger daughter was here.  The trains ran well again, and she took home 3 boxes of stuff that had been up in the attic.   So far we have watched 4 episodes of Sherlock Holmes, all quite excellent.  Great acting and wonderful interpetations of the master detective's stories.   Weather has been mild here, with temps near 50.  It will change, but enjoying it for now.  Good to see you back, RI 52!  I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Thanks for the welcome back, guys!  It has been a while.

Tonight the wifey noted that I now have four different engines staged close by for running under the Christmas tree in the living room and that I have temporarily taken over the kitchen table for some cleaning and lubricating. She is under some misguided notion that I am taking over the first floor.  I haven't even invaded her china cabinets for train space........yet.  Wink

I hope every one has been blessed as I have been this past year.  Belated Merry Christmas to you all. Thumbs Up

Well.....Merry Christmas, Jack...Great to see you!!

Back in action today, here 'til 4.....

Got to bed by 9PM...exhausted.

After work, heading to the girlfriends house to do a little Christmas celebration.

Her youngest will be with her Dad(disfunctional as he may be) the son will be there with us, but he'll be in XBox land(he's 15).  Should be a quiet night which is welcomed.

Was officially told no mortgage until July due to the fact the word BONUS shows up on my paystub.....IF I can find a place with a garage and a basement to rent, I'll be all in.

Buckeye....I TOLD you that the LionChief was awesome!!  I'm in line for the CamelBack in CNJ livery....due in March.  I LOVE my Polar Express!!

Almost time to open the doors.....see ya later!!

Glad you have returned to post. Good seeing you back on here.

Good morning all,

Hello Jack, good to see you posting again.

Chief, What kind of music are you aiming for?  Bluegrass, classical or country western?  Maybe you can get some pointers from our doctor friend who post sometimes.  He and his kids were all taking lessons a while back.

It's all quiet here now after a busy Christmas.  #2 Son's girlfriend spent the Holiday with us.  They are off today for San Diego to see USC and Nebraska play.

Cold here down to 36 this morning.  Slight chance of rain next week.

later,

Ray

Good Mornin' Y'all From Sunny and Kind of Warm Cape Ann Taxachusetts!

Banks.......great pictures, thank you for posting them.  I like your taste in dog breeds!  Our Dobermans are both thriving.  Little Raven is 19 months old now and Maximus is 6 years.  My wife was worried about an electronic fence for the back yard (that has worked perfectly over the past 15 years and four dogs) and insisted I put up a real fence.  I am not a handy guy but with the help of friends we got her done, about 85 yards worth in the 95 degree heat!  The rabbits are so stupid; they keep coming into the yard somehow.  Then when we let the dogs out, the race is on.  We had another rabbit casualty last night because the rabbits are in a panic and once in a while can't find their way out before it's curtains for them.

I was going to try to read the POT posts I missed but stopped at 15 out of about 5,000.  Guess I will just have to pick up from here.  Please do not be offended if my comments are out of touch or insensitive.

RT.........I apologize for getting my son-in-law into HO gauge.  He and the family have no room in their place and it seemed that smaller was better than nothing at all.  Last Christmas I resurrected a brand new Tyco freight set that was never opened by my father (and then me).....probably 45-50 years old new in box.  It sat unopened until I took SIL out to buy a train board two weeks ago.  Then spent a day with him and another friend laying down green felt and tacking down the brass track: 8' x 37" loop, and large enough to het them expand their lighted Christmas tree village that the daughter is in love with.  The engine is a heavy die cast 4-6-2 with tender.  SHOCK!!!!  It worked!!!  Another train addict has been hooked.  The grandchildren are ecstatic.  Of course, I immediately sat down and did the requisite oil and lube job. Big Smile

Joey D.......I didn't think they would let you back into the country. Smile

Greetings to AF Ray, Hudson John, Sir James, Brutus (JimmyF), Ray SP, V8, Don, Doug, Dennis, Traindaddy, Rich, Doud, Kev, MikeC, Fife, Chuck, Brent, LAZ, Buckeye, Submmbob, JimmyT, Roy, Mitch, Spanky, TommyP, Chief of course, and the rest I will think of when I stop trying to think.  And a hearty welcome to the newcomers since I was last here.

Gotta run.  We are expecting the horde to descend upon our home this afternoon and I don't want to look or smell like the Chief when they get here. Wink

Good Evening Dudes & Dudettes,

Great run at the museum yesterday, no gremlins appeared. Good crowd, more than I expected, with about an hour to go we had a 1700 headcount.

We tried the Christmas display with some mixed reults.

From Halloweentown :

To Bedford Falls :

Didn't get the visitation that we had hoped for, if we do it again next year we will provide some sort of advertising during halloween night.
All the Christmas trains already serviced and packed away pending next year.
Good to see Jack is back.
Time to get back to work.
Later all !

Good evening all,

A good, quiet day.  Went to see "A Night at the Museum".  It was kind of bittersweet, seeing as it was the last movie for Robin Williams and Mickey Rooney, but it was a good flick.  Hopefully they will let the story line end with this movie as it had a good conclusion.   Ran the Santa Fe box car set around the tree for about an hour, switching a car from time to time.   All in all it was nice today.   I hope everyone has a good day.

Keep on training,

Smile, Wink & GrinGood morning all,

Today will be a somewhat lazy day for us as yesterday's drive back to OH from OK was tiring.  So far, I am enjoying the Crossley record player the wife bought me.  I like Bing's voice better on vinyl.  The Dolphins are out, but I'm looking forward to the Steelers-Bengals game tonight.  PSU had a nice come-from-behind win yesterday.

Jack - I snuck back into the US via Hawaii, which was my plan.

Back from the hunting camp.  Season ends Jan 1 but will probably not go back.  Weather is going bottoms up this afternoon through Mon. night.  Wed., Wifey wants to go to the lake house [first time since Oct. 2013].  Go out with neighbors up there.

Saw a big 6 or 8 pointer.  Only problem, he was crossing the highway from my open field to my woods about 30 minutes before any day light.  Was near my stand but never came by.  Rest were big does.  Was going to shoot HS Principal one for meat.  Problem, would have to have borrowed neighbor's 4 wheeler to get it out.  Woods flooded from all the rain and was 30 minutes from dark.  Actually I had to wade several times to get to that stand.  Will really be bad after the rain on the way.

Buckeye Riveter

This LionChief Pacific is amazing.  Track is at normal full power for my TMCC and all I did was place it on the track, turn on the remote and it is fully operational.

I wish I could go back in the archives on a couple of posts when LionChief came out.  Seems one guy was not at all excited about them.  HUMMM Guess a leapord can change his spots after all. Whistling

I stay gone a few days and you all have let the Yankeest Yank slip back in.  Crying  Glad to hear from you OLD man.

Some great Christmas pictures and videos.

Now to call Dennis W. and ask him how to play the violin.

Have a great week. [Buckeye and others that have jobs, go to work and get our SS checks met.]

Jack! Welcome back!

Hope all had a great Christmas! I went incognito for a few days as we and friends enjoyed a great holiday long weekend. Dinners out, dinners with great friends, great fun with the family.

The family stuck with the script for me and I got the few things I asked for (some clothes, shoes, and consumables Drinks). No flanged wheel items. I have plenty.

Have a great day all!

Aloha. Great - now I have 'Love in Bloom' stuck in my head. Seems like a good Christmas was had by all. As Kev says, winter is slowly returning after a pleasant week. Daughter and SiL went back to MI this morning. Congrats on that wonderful engine, Buckeye. And the family engagement. Jack, Well done at hooking another train fan - you now must move them along to the True Gauge. (I had a 3 x 5 O gauge layout that I folded up and slid behind the couch in our first apartment though come to think of it, the bride certainly preferred the N gauge one). MikeC, are you watching the BBC Sherlock or the new American version?
