Good morninng everyone, and Chuck!
I'm typing a quick post during my lunch break at work. The weather is fantastic, but still a bit too warm for me. It's almost October and I'd prefer cooler temps. The weekend was busy with chores and baseball games. However, on Sunday I took the boys to the Air Force museum since they had a WWI commemoration event this past weekend. There were many WWI aircraft on display and flying which was really cool. They had many activities so it was a fun day.
I hope you all have a great day.
Joe
Aloha from a sunny and warm Chicago. Looks like this will last a few days before it gets cold right before the weekend. Joe should be happy as that cold front usually heads east. We had a pleasant quiet weekend marred by the Bears loss. Didn't make it down to the basement to play with trains...

Good afternoon all,
Still waiting for pool repair guy to show up. Took wife to doctor this morning. She is doing good physically. He prescribed some muscle relaxers for her neck pain but a mild dose.
Speaking of a pain in the neck, still trying to figure out how to see less of a friend from church who has latched on to us like glue since his wife passed away. Don't mind once in a while but I see more of him lately than my own kids. She passed away over a year ago and he seems to be adjusting in most ways. He needs more friends than us. The trouble is, he keeps doing favors for us. Hard to complain when someone is nice to you.

Just thought I'd check in. Haven't felt like doing much since this happened:
Done after 17 years and 204,685 original miles. Stripped it and set it to the crusher.

Ray,
There are plenty of examples around for you to follow to drive him ( or anyone ) away. Your acts of kindness may pay off at some point. Or don't go to so big a church.

V8Vega Redfire the damage doesn't seem that bad but I guess its gone. Is that a Probe? Even in our big self service junkyards parts would be hard to find. Tue. 85 Wed. 86 Thur. 97 Sat. 106My 87 Prelude Si started to shimmy especially noticeable at low speed. I could feel the steering wheel move back and forth a little.I looked at the front tires carefully and didn't see anything wrong. So I jacked up the front and with it idling in low gear watching the rotating tire one had a lump tread separation you could plainly see then. One good thing about living amongst the illegal aliens is there is a tire shop every couple of miles. I'll get a used tire tomorrow. Used as I plan to sell this car in a year and a half.We have wild Parrots here, I've lived here 25 years and they were here when I moved here. I heard they escaped from a Avery in a wind storm. They stick together, fly around in a flock, land in the trees and make a lot of noise. I don't mind, I think their kind of unique.

Dennis,
I had a steel brake line pop as I was backing it down the driveway. After 17 years in PA, it was too rusty to be worth fixing. The missing parts are because I stripped it before sending it to the yard. Probes, especially in GT trim, are seldom seen around here anymore. Even the yards don't keep them long
Just a quick drive-by. Saw this and just couldn't resist: http://www.youtube.com/embed/TmsozWDwz_A?rel=0

Good Morning from Blueberryhill........
Good Morning, Joe....
It is a cool 50 degrees. Going up to 72 today with a chance of rain this evening.
Today is a busy day. I have several errands to run and chores around the house. Lunch and a nap, later.
Cheerios for breakfast on the dining car.
Y'all have a great Tuesday.
Chuck
Doug: Had a tooth pulled the other day. Good luck at the dentist.
Rain again here in "sunny" Orlando. Having the outside of the house painted. Slow go with the weather. Can't wait for the "Dry Season".
Have a great day.
Mornin' boys. Kinda sticky here in the Mid-Atlantic region. Back on nights. Had a big sigh of relief yesterday as Youngest Princess passed her eye exam. Celebrated at Friendly's afterwards.
Redfire - Ahhh, you and fifepup are part of the same club. Good luck with the repair. Fifepup's up for customer-of-the-month at our favorite body & fender joint...

cnw1995 - Let's hope you don't see any proto-smoke while in the chair.
SPMan - I've recently had a dear friend shun me...be gentle, but honest.
Thought I better check in before the end of the month or I might be evicted. Read a couple of pages and it appears that everyone is in reasonably good health.
Don, I liked the popcorn idea for the Chief's engine. Help keep him from dozing at the controls.
Typing this from the Toy Train Museum. Cut back on my volunteering to one day a week in Strasburg instead of two. Now alternating between here and the PA RR Museum on Tuesdays. Saves 40 miles of commuter time driving a week
Weather here has been great for September with cooler than normal temps most of the time, could have used a little more rain, but not yet in a drought as year to date is a little above normal.
John
Mornin' fellasHaven't posted since the trip to FL... still getting back into the swing of things.Redfire - you'll be happier now that they are gone. You can spend the money more wisely and on more worthy ventures! Fife - I'm glad I didn't have a sip of coffee in my mouth when I read your last post! Customer-of-the-month!!!!! LOL!!!!!!!!!!!!Looks like I won't be making York in October. I'll be ordering the kitchen cabinets tomorrow and the flooring this weekend. Also have to call my general contractor friend to see if I can get the number for the countertop people... not looking forward to all the work, but sure am looking forward to the results! This will also most likely mean that I will not get the train garden under the tree done this year... sigh.

88 - Fifepup should score a calendar or something at least... If I were a bettin' man, my money would be on you having some sort of Christmas layout under the tree. So, you guys are stayin' put?
Afternoon all. Had EARLY breakfast meeting with school system. Then errands. Still cloudy but not rain. Suppose to have cleared off. More errands to run and then go to Frankie's. He has shoulder operation tomorrow AM. Then I "nurse" till Friday. Told him we would eat a lot of Snoopy's hotdogs [a hotdog chain near his house].
John, what it really should do is pop corn all around the tracks. Then I could just walk around picking it up and eating it.
Have a good one.

Hello all
A fairly chilly morning here on the mountain. W/ Oct rapidly approaching we will soon be below freezing.
Joe - love to see a pic of the XF-85 at the AF Museum. I've seen the one @ Offutt.
JimT - I feel your loss. There are time's when I think I might want a newer car again. Prob if I had to drive more I would. Fortunately we don't have the rust issues in AZ and it's really nice not to make car payments.
Don - use hominy instead of corn, then the Chief can install an O scale grismill
Time to get on w/ the day

Fife,
It had no damage other than the rust throughout. It's just looks so bad because good original fog lights and headlight motors are rare and worth so much. My only regret is not destroying the engine and transmission so the yard couldn't make money on them. Still ran great at 204,685 with only routine maintenance. Didn't use or leak anything. Only bodywork every done was some PDR on the passenger door and small rust repair on the roof.
Brent,
It's weird. I feel relieved, but I miss both of them at the same time. The day it got towed out was the first day since 1992 that there wasn't at least one Probe here. Between my dad, brother, and myself, we've had six of them.
Good morning all,
Pool guy came yesterday and replaced the drain plug in the filter tank that was leaking. Thought they might include the part (only $10) in the price of the service call but wouldn't. Thought that was excessive. That's short sighted. I'll think twice about using them again. They missed an opportunity to win a new customer.
Fife, I don't want to shun the guy, just see a little less of him. Sorry to hear of your experience.
Talked to a friend this morning who might be interested in my bad order MTH 4-8-4 for a display model. Don't know what I should ask for a selling price. I think it's worth at least $300. It has that much DCS electronics in it that could be reused in something else.
My number two son is back in the dating game again after a long hiatis. He is dating a gal with a PHD who might want to go to medical school. Hope something works out for him.
Started walking again today after two days of goofing off.
Pleasant weather for a few days but gradually heating up by this week end.
