I would be happy to discuss my proposals for hiring and training. We can do so via telephone I would be happy to give you my cell phone number. I will not do so online where Amtrak could benefit and claim as their own.

So I take the above responses to mean that you don't wish to discuss the 501 matter but you would rather have a back and forth replete with the snarky asides, sarcasm etc. much like a bunch of prepubescent schoolgirls.

I take from your above responses to mean that you don't wish to discuss the 501 matter either.  Glittering assertions are nothing to build a program around.

I can't speak for any others.  I asked you some specific questions and you came back with evasive replies.  Since you refused to discuss your proposals with specifics, whether to me or actual railroaders, this is what you get.

That about sums it up.  He had nothing more to offer than "Better training! More Experience!" scrawled on each side of a 3x5 card.

Present my ideas on social media so that others, possibly Amtrak, can claim as their own? This will not happen. Suffice it to say that I have a comprehensive and less expensive training regimen and should Amtrak or any other railroad be willing to listen, again in Amtrak's case, they may contact me.

So in other words, you have no "ideas".

BTW, no response from you is required.  Please add me to your ignore list.

There is no need to add you to list you are already on it.

Obviously not.....

It is okay.  I understand I worry you since I have railroad experiance, and call you out on your BS.

So call me out on my "bs".

How about you and your " railroad experiance[sic]" give your take on what happened on Amtrak 501. I'll wait.

Thank you for pointing out my misspelled word, that was big of you.  Present your ideas to save the training at Amtrak, and you will be called out on it.  However, if don't have the sack to put your ideas out there, then stop talking about them.

You sure are getting your knickers knotted up over my post, I thought I was on your ignore list.  Every time I read one of your posts, this gif comes to mind...

Now we have the resident 'sage' chiming in. No trolling here 'sage' just staying on topic and asking the guy with the "railroad experiance[sic]" what he thinks was the cause of the 501 derailment. The resident 'sniper' doesn't get it either.

So we have a sniper and a sage.  This is sounding like a Broadway play.

Oh, we get it.   You don't want real discussion.  You want to use this forum as your personal soapbox.

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

If you guys want to have a lucid discussion on the 501 disaster I'm fine with that. You want to insert smart ass comments and snarky asides because you feel you have some sort of special status here because you have been here longer I will respond in kind. Your call.

Dream on! Lots of luck.

Sounds like it's not about safety - but about ego.  Not really surprised.

This ignored club is getting large.  We better think about electing officers.

Please outline what you believe to be a proper training program and qualification procedure for engineers on the NEC and what kind of follow up supervision and additional training that you feature as being proper.  What will be the manpower cost of this program - both craft personnel and company supervision.

I do in fact have a proposal for a proper training program and qualification procedure for engineers on the NEC with follow up supervision and additional training at considerably less money than the present procedures. However Amtrak in their arrogance chooses to continue with their hit and miss trial and error procedures. I have appealed to Boardman,"Wick" and Anderson numerous times to no avail.

So what are the key points of your proposal that has been rejected numerous times by multiple people?

Compare and constrast your proposal to the current Amtrak procedures.

No key  points have been rejected. I have/had not been afforded an interview to present my proposal other than a brief meeting with the CTO,SGRFE,SGTM in 2013 in which their faux interest was obvious so I politely terminated that meeting.

Amtrak is resistant to change. I define that as arrogance.

The contrast between my proposal and Amtrak's is that of light and dark

That is your interpretation.  What did they say that caused you to walk out?

Could you give us (the railroad folks on here, not me) a summary, i.e., key points of your plan? Did you give the Amtrak people with whom you spoke a complete plan as well?  Have you considered presenting your ideas of proper training to other railroads?  Perhaps they are not as arrogant as Amtrak appears to you.

14.5 miles of 'new' railroad to qualify on and you cannot remember a major speed reduction? Who vetted this guy for the position of engineer? Who trained him? Who certified him qualified on that territory?

Genuine politician - doesn't answer 'the question' he has been presented with.

Why the wise ass comment?  Were you to check the posting times you would see that I was composing another post to charlie hebdo while you were asking a question.

Regardless, you still haven't presented the elements of your proposal.

There are several currently working engineers on the forum.  It would be instructive to ask them how much training they had and how useful was it for their actual work?  And how long did it take them to learn a new route sufficiently well enough to operate a train on it safely and efficiently?

I just wanted you to reiterate that you have zero railroad operations knowledge or experience yet you expound, imperiously I might add, on something you admit you know nothing about. As I have said previously your insults from behind the safe confines of a PC  are akin to a child who calls other names while clinging to his mother's dress. How juvenile of you.

Others have pegged your number correctly.  You have one answer to everything: your notion of proper training, which apparently those who know you through experience rejected multiple times.  nuf' said.

You really are quite annoying. You won't go away so I shall ignore you.
