NorthWest Hey! You said he'd always be in a safe place!
The platform *is* a perfectly safe place. How him got there is an udder story.
He was not *Hiding* on the tracks, he was playing on the tracks, besides he is wearing his orange safety vest.
ROAR
OK, LION is back to hiding and *IS* in a safe place.
OSHA couldn't put him in a much safer place than that.
... Can't say quite as much for the person concerned, though!
Wizlish... Can't say quite as much for the person concerned, though!
??? - LION is not near anybody at the moment. Certainly one might walk by at any moment.
what a really great pix of the interior of the Stillwell Avenue Station, Coney Island.
On the block next to the track directly down from the signal.
The LION investigates Third Rails: MNRR vs LIRR. (A LION hides in each picture)
Top picture: on the furthest left roof post.
Second picture: on the yellow (switch motor?) box on the bottom right next to the tracks.
The first picture is Metro North at Irvington, NY, and no, the LION is not on the station.
The Second picture is on the Long Island Rail Road, and yes, the LION is on the switch, but it is not a motor. Those are hand thrown switches in that yard. Probaly the last passenger yard in the USA iwth hand thrown switches for so much traffic. There are three switch tenders housed in what used to be a gas station. One of them is the boss and stay in the station, the other two get to run around with walkie talkies to move the switches as directed. When a train is to move through the intersection, the boss guy in the house throws an simple safety type switch mounded on the wall of their hut, and the gates will come down to block the roads. He closes the crossing gates when the train begins to leave the yard, but it is still several minutes from the crossing.
I spent an afternoon there watching the trains come and go, and taking pictures. LION was standing on a public street although him might as well have been in the yard itself.
Is the LIRR photo at Long Island City?
Yes. Long Island City.
LION is hiding somewhere in the BRONX...
Yesnorth end of the Dyer Avenue line, the pocket track extension. Some years ago. How is the layout coming along? About a new trip with the new scenery?
Lion is on the station sign, waiting for the N train to Coney Island (he needs to get a hot dog).
CSSHEGEWISCH Lion is on the station sign, waiting for the N train to Coney Island (he needs to get a hot dog).
We *did* have hot dogs for lunch.... Lion ate FOUR of them!
Well, here is another one, and to be honest, I forgot where I put the LION.
LION WINS! LION WINS! Nobody found me yesterday hiding on the Culver Structure right on the 4th rust spot about where that first East West member joins the north south iron.
Today we makked it easier for you:
: ROAR :
LION will be supervising the M/W crew from the top of the ballast tamper next to the rider car.
That ballast tamper has lots of good hiding places. Exactly where do you suppose that LION is? He is closer than you thingk.

He sure won't be happy if there turns out to be anyone on the track, or too close to the edge of a platform!
But look on the bright side ... if it snows, there won't be any buildup in that particular bell...
