Speaking of the SD-45-2's. After doing some research, i found out the only remaining original Bicentennial one is 5704, now BNSF 6484. Any idea if this one's still arround? If so if one needs to be saved this is it.
I preferr "Rail" over "trail".

All gone but the RS1325s and a turbine.

I know a couple of these have been preserved, but I'd like to see a UP turbine restored to running order.

Also, I don't know if any still exist or not, but I want to see a DD35.

And:

C855 (if still in existance)

U50C (same as above)

(can't you tell I'm a sucker for powerful locomotives.lol)

Oooo!! I know, and it's under 2000 hp this time.  If Illinois & Midland ever retires the RS1325s, or goes out of business, I hope they get preserved.  Send them over to Monticello or up to the IRM.

I'd like to see a EJ&E SD38-2 donated to IRM. For years I wanted a WC SD45 preserved there and thankfully that want became a reality with the 7525. Hopefully it is the same for the EJ&E. I'd also like to see some Rock and GM&O stuff preserved and restored to their original paint jobs.

I've been thinking of posting this after the "fallen flag car" discussion. I don't meant the obvious ones (i agree though, save every F-40PH left), i mean ones nobody would think of otherwise.
Ok. If i won 100 mil in the lottery i'd find a place to build a shop, and restore these:

SD-45-2. Santa Fe bicentennial scheme
GP-35's in Santa Fe kodachrome (or a C-30-7 or SF-30c), and 70's blue and yellow
Something in Frisco mandarin orange and white
SD-40-2 MKT green and yellow
SD-40-2 MP with screaming eagle on side (the 1st one i'd do ;) )
GP-38-2 Rock blue and white
GP-35 RI red and yellow
SD-40T-2's in SP and SSW gray and scarlet, SP kodachrome, and Rio Grande (actually efforts are under way to save DRGW no. 5371 after UP retires it)
SD-50 CNW
no i'm not EMD biased
U-30-C NP yellow and black (if any 30-c's are left)
GP-38's and SD-40-2's in Clinchfield, SCL, Seaboard System, Family Lines, and L&N
GP-10 ICG orange and white
and some others
See what i'm getting at? I'm not aware of any of these being preserved (hopefully i'm wrong).
At least there's 2 MP diesels i know of being saved, a RS-3 in St. Louis and a former Kyle/NYC GP-7 has been repainted into gray and blue at Downs, Ks.

I preferr "Rail" over "trail".
