Jesse. . . "Don't be Cruel"!!  This day has not gone too good this morning:  hadn't been up but about 45 minutes, when we heard a Bzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz out in the back.  Tree trimmers had shown up a day ahead of schedule, to cut down the huge oak tree in the back yard.  It was missing quite a few limbs anyway, from high winds in the past few months.  Sarah was still asleep, after getting to bed around 3 or so, after she got off work this morning.  This is the tree that has caused property damage in the past couple years or so.  Needless to say, she awoke very early this morning.

With all this going on, I've just made up sandwiches for lunch, and they're in the cooler, along with salads, and there are several large bags of chips, petzels, etc. on the counter.  So everyone, help yourselves.

Congrats Nighttrain!  So do you know yet?  GM or EMD?  (You guess which is which!)  Those sandwiches are good!  I got a new scanner from Radio Shack last night.  Got CN and WSOR programmed in.  Of course, nothing was running...DOH!  It's the Pro-82 mobile scanner.  I did hear something from WSOR on their 'yard freq...way up here in Oshkosh!  Anyway...gotta let the dogs out and get back to work...back later!

Joe, think I'm glad I don't have any more pumpkin pies in the freezer!!

On the supper menu tonight:  beef stroganouf (sp?) w/ mashed taters & gravy, corn, green beans and apple sauce.

Desserts:  chocolate cake, chocolate cream pie, coconut cream pie, pecan pie.

Nightrain, got PLENTY of iced tea (sweetened & unsweetened).  Special project is coming along very well.

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  Looks like we had a very slow night in here last night.  Hope things pick up a little better today in here.

Coffee is ready, fresh juice is made (both oj and oj/tangerine), hot water for tea and cocoa).

Regular breakfast items (turkey bacon, sausage, etc.) are on the warmer bar.

Everyone have a great day, take care, and if there are any requests for lunch and supper, please let me know, okay?

Since it's going to be another beautiful day, I thought I'd fire up the charcoal grill for lunch today.  On the lunch menu will be:  grilled chicken breasts, burgers, hot dogs, brats, t-bone steaks and pork chops.  Side dishes will be:  cole slaw, three-bean salad, potato salad, corn on the cob, baked beans, mac & cheese.  Also grilling some sweet green and red peppers and "baked" potatoes.

Joe, hope you and Matt have a great afternoon; and good wishes for everyone else's afternoon, also!!

Grilled pork chops and baked potatoes plus baked beans. Luv 'em. I will have to wear my coat at the picnic table. The heat wave has not reached us so far.

Good Morning!

Lunch sounds great, CW!

I don't have much news today other than the fact that warmer air is finally getting to eastern Nebraska and western Iowa. I'm not sure that we're totally done with winter yet, but we are certainly nearing the end.

Everyone have a good day!

Not too warm yet here, but at least it's nice and sunny.  Looking forward to the weekend...

T-bone steaks, eh?  Boy, the cook sure is ambitious today!  I'll take a medium-rare one, please.

Since the grilling went so well this afternoon, I have plenty of everything on the lunch menu, is on tonight's supper menu.  Guess I over-grilled this afternoon.  Joe, got a to-go container all ready for you, in the cooler, for you to take to work tonight.  I've got all the meat and hot sides on the warmer bar, and the cold sides are in the fridge.  There's plenty for everybody, so eat up and enjoy!!

Ooooh - so many choices!  One of each, please.  I'm not all that hungry, but it just looks so good!

Coal train came in at work today, and I just happened to be out and about.  Two GEs (one AC) bracketing an SD40-2....

I have a bunch of fire reports to file, so time to do some keyboarding.....
