Thanks everyone. Now I really am starting to blush! Blush [:I] And Brian, I've seen your stuff and I have no idea what you're talking about!

Well, I must be on my way. Have to help a friend change a dying battery before Willy sends us some really cold stuff. Hope you all have a great evening!

Chris, First..I so enjoy your picture of the train in Colorado that I saved it on my computer, if that is okay. I love the mountains. Last year when my husband and I had the chance to go to Denver. I got to see the Moffat Tunnel for the first time. I have visited Colorado four times in my life; the last two with him. But seeing it through his eyes and with his stories, it just made the visit so enjoyable. When I saw your picture it reminded me of him and how much he means to me. Thanks for sharing your talent with us.

Second..do you have a special rating that you keep getting top post of each page? We haven't even got our March issue of TRAINS yet.

Ms. Mookie, I have chocolate cake in the fridge. You are welcome to it.

CW and all in the diner...it was 47 here today. Warm with blue skies. If ya'll get too cold, I'll flip the switch on the gas fireplace, make some hot chocolate, turn on the keyboard and we can all sing train songs. (However, I know more Christmas songs than train songs.)

Good Tuesday morning, all!  Tina, glad to see you were in last night.  Please come back in often!  Chris, that is a very good picture!!  Always love seeing your pictures.

Our outside temp is ABOVE FREEZING (just barely), at 33 degrees at 5:44 a.m.

Coffee is ready, along with juice, and hot water for cocoa  and tea.  On the warmer bar, for breakfast, you will find:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, tator tots, hash browns, home fried taters, homemade buttermilk biscuits and sausage gravy, blueberry muffins and apple/cinnamon muffins, and freshly made bearclaws and bagels.

Everyone have a great morning, and I'll see everyone after I get through with Tuesday Produce.

It isn't the heat - it's the humidity - and it isn't the cold - it is the wind!

Weeellll, based on our local prognosticator's long range forecast, I have a feeling that Willy's going to have a hard time finding that heat button...

We currently have no temperature here at this moment (ZERO degreesClown [:o)]).  The seven-day forecast is predicting HIGHS for right around there.Sad [:(]Dead [xx(]

Good morning everyone....it's

COLD!!!! here in Sioux Falls. At the present moment according to the Weather Channel we have 5 degrees below 0, the wind here is out of the NW at 14 mph, which leaves us with a wind chill factor of 26 degrees below 0. Greg Belfrage of KELO AM just announced that we have a temp of 7 below 0. I like Greg, so I'll take his word for it.

I know that Louisville, Kentucky is getting their share of cold weather, right now Cherokee Woman, Locomutt and Sarah are ENJOYING , and I am saying this sarcastically, they are enjoying 25 degrees and a wind chill of 11 above 0! Anyone want to move to South Dakota? At least the sun has come out this morning, but I just looked out my front window and it looks deceptively warm out there!!!!!.

Virtual heatwave over here.  We have 3 points of heat and a forecast of going up to 24.  I'll believe that when I see the number on the digital in the car.  Anyway, the sun is bright and a point of cheer as it doesn't look like almost sundown at 2:30 in the afternoon.  Perhaps a last serious blast this coming weekend and then weather.com says we finally break over the freeze mark 10 days from now.

All the way up to 3 hereabouts right now - after seeing -18 on the home weather station at 4:00 am (woke up with a headache - yecch!).

Ms Mook - can't say I've ever heard of beef with noodles and chocolate cake soup....  Tongue [:P]

The lake effect machine has been running to the south of us - but clear skies here (which explains the -18).  The forecast is for the band to reorganize and shift a bit north, but I doubt I'll see much, if any, at the house.

But it is winter, after all.  There's been some coverage of an event we experienced here 30 years ago - the Blizzard of '77.  Paralyzed things for over a week, and pictures abound of snowbanks higher than houses.

You can see a little bit about it via this site: http://www.northcountrynews.com/

Don't worry, Willy's weather machine is working just fine.  Well, the heat button is, at least.  At this rate, I just might donate my coats to Goodwill.  Yes, indeed, it is another beautiful day here in sunny San Jose.  Captain [4:-)]

Okay, let's see now.  How about something different for lunch today?  I've gotten a new, indoor large George Foreman Grill, and we'll have:  hot dogs, brats, burgers, grilled corn on the cob, and grilled onions, green peppers and red peppers (sweet variety), grilled "baked" potatoes.

I thought maybe everybody might be getting tired of stews and soups, and roast, taters & carrots.    Hope today's special suits everyones taste.

As far as PRODUCE TUESDAY went, all we got today was potatoes and vanilla yogurt.

Well, I'm glad everyone is enjoying the nice brisk conditions I'm sending them! More of it coming for many locations, so keep on enjoying! Big Smile [:D]

CW - Lunch sounds very good to me. I'll have a couple of hot dogs and some corn on the cob.

Willy - I may have to reach out and "touch" you - just a love tap you know.  Make it stop.  A 50 degree winter is not so bad!

CW - I feel like a brat...  I will leave it at that!

(Yummmm - and I can do corn, too!)

.......Sounds cold around forum land....18.3 now here at our home weather station at almost 1:30 pm and bright sunshine but boy the wind is blowing that half inch of snow we got over night from the west, across the N - S roads.  It's streaming across the roads like it was a layer of fine sand...but white.

Visted my Chevrolet dealer this morning to have my S-10 serviced and that good heater really felt good on the way home

....We've seen our share of ice in central Florida {especially in January}, in the quite a few winters we spent down there.  Masses of ice hanging off orange trees, etc....{from the sprays}.

But, one consolation is that it won't be long before the sun comes out and the ice will be gone....

Okay everyone, I've got my new grill fired up again, and I'm grilling more hot dogs, burgers, brats, corn on the cob, and "baked" potatoes, and the green & red sweet peppers.

Desserts tonight:  chocolate cake, pecan pie and cherry pie.

Everyone have a great evening, and take care.

OK, finally got my shots from Sunday uploaded.  They're nothing to write home about, just some grab shots while attending a family gathering, but I'll take what I can get.  This eastbound had me briefly excited, as it initially looked like the weekly perishable hotshot ZWASKP- until I looked further back in the consist.

The rest of the shots I got there can be seen here- http://blhanel.rrpicturearchives.net/archivethumbs.aspx?id=19570

Good Wednesday morning to all.  Cannonball, good to see you in here!  I'm glad Shirl is taking such good care of you.  How you doing?  Getting better, we hope!

Iowa Brian, goooood pictures!!

Coffee is ready, juice is made, water is just about ready for hot cocoa & hot tea.

On the warmer bar, you will find:  turkey bacon, sausage patties & links, homemade buttermilk biscuits, sausage gravy, scrambled eggs, toast, grits, oatmeal, cooked rice (really good on cold mornings with milk & sugar over it), fried taters.  And there are some bagels, bearclaws and pecan rolls  also.

We currently have 15 degrees, with no wind.  Our high today is to be 32 degrees.  Tonight or tomorrow night, we're supposed to have overnight lows in the single digits.

Guess that's about it.  Haven't been able to go train watching, with it being so cold around here, but do hear the horns quite a few times throughout the day.   Everyone have a great day, take care of yourselves, and stay dry, warm and safe.
