Joe, you've selected the lunch menu for today:  grilled cheese sandwiches w/tomato soup, vegetable soup, cream of broccoli soup are all on the warmer bar. (Also will make BLTs for anyone who wants a couple or four.)

NOW, does anyone have any requests for supper tonight?  I'm in a very giving mood today, letting you all decide what you want to eat today.

Larry and Dan - Nice shots! Thanks for sharing. I haven't taken a train picture since my IL trip (been busy shooting at high school and college basketball games). I guess I should get out and get some...my PaD project is a week behind. Banged Head [banghead]

Congratulations Dan on saving a life. I took Red Cross CPR classes and learned about AEDs last year. I should probably schedule a class again sometime soon. I like to go at least once a year.

Colin, as one who has spent quite a bit of time on crutches (broke a femur, and tore a piece of bone from my pelvis where the sartorius attaches itself) I agree they are no fun. Best of luck in the healing process.

CW, since I haven't seen any lunch suggestions, how about some Reuben sandwiches with some potato chips and dill pickles?

Well, I have three city bids to type, so I must be on my way. Hope you all have a great day!

EDIT: Oooops...didn't see the menu suggestion. How about the reubens tomorrow, then?

CW - For dinner, how about roast beef, potatoes and gravy, and which ever other sides you think would go well with that? For dessert, how about peach pie and cherry pie? That would be much appreciated.

Our AED's will say 'No Shock Advised, Begin CPR' if in Asystole.  When I train new LG's/conduct Pro CPR w/AED classes I always set the AED trainer to do that so the student must do CPR.  I've had to do that a couple of times.  Usually, IMHO, the layperson is the one who'll have the issue using one.

Willy, how about open-face roast beef sandwiches w/mashed taters, beef gravy, cole slaw, and green beans.

Nighttrain, there's plenty of soup also for tonight, so please help yourself to the soup.  Have as much as you want.

And for dessert:  the pies that Willy2 requested can be found in the cooler just behind the counter.

Sandwiches are just fine. I will be back in a little while to enjoy one or two of them. I couldn't stand waiting for a slice of peach pie, so I had a nibble for an after school snack. Delicious!

Good Thursday morning, everyone!  Gee, I almost don't know what to do, actually waking up early, for a change!

Coffee is ready, fresh orange juice, orange tangerine and apple juice are made, and in the cooler.

On the warmer bar, you will find:  turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, freshly made homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy, oatmeal, grits, toast.  Also, in the cooler, is some cantaloupe slices.

Hope everyone had a good night's rest (those who didn't work overnight) and also hope everyone has a great morning.

For lunch today, we're having Chris' request from yesterday:  I've made reuben sandwiches, and we have plenty of tater chips and dill pickles to have with them.  Also, there are tuna salad sandwiches, and nice, HOT tomato soup.

And I'll go ahead and post tonight's supper menu, since I'm going to be busy all afternoon, making it:  chicken and dumplings.

Good morning, everyone.  Looks to be another beautiful day out here in sunny San Jose.  Well, except that it isn't sunny today.  A gray, overcast day.  But a beautiful day nonetheless.  Captain [4:-)]

Good morning all. I got an email this morning with a bunch of jokes so I thought I would share them with you all.  Smile [:)]

I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape, so I got my doctor's permission to join a fitness club and start exercising. I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors. I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down, and perspired for an hour. But, by the time I got my leotards on, the class was over.

next . . .

An elderly woman decided to prepare her will and told her preacher she had two final requests. First, she wanted to be cremated, and second, she wanted her ashes scattered over Wal-Mart.

"Wal-Mart?" the preacher exclaimed. "Why Wal-Mart?" "Then I'll be sure my daughters visit me twice a week."

if you say so . . .

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

oh my  . . .

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

did you say something  . . .

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

tisk tisk  .  .  .

It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffeemaker.

hmmm . . .

well now  .  .  .

I've sure gotten old! I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement, new knees Fought prostate cancer and diabetes. I'm half blind, can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine, take 40 different medications that make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts. Have bouts with dementia. Have poor circulation; hardly feel my hands and feet anymore. Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92. Have lost all my friends. But....I still have my driver's license.

your kidding me  .  .  .

Reporters interviewing a 104-year-old woman: "And what do you think is the best thing about being 104?" the reporter asked. She simply replied, "No peer pressure."

you sure about that  .  .  .

Know how to prevent sagging? Just eat till the wrinkles fill out.

I resemble that remark  .  .  .

Well enjoy my little attempt at humor this morning.  Can someone tell me what day this is?  haha

Take care now.

The cold is letting up, thats all I have going on for now

Thought being 52 and senile was bad? try being only 28 and brain dead working on cold medicine most of the time. Can't think straight after a while, it's scary
