yeah i'm not a fan of those canadian cabs either.

and i admit the scheme really doesnt look that bad on the earlier EMD widenose cab units. but i'm hoping we'll see an SD70MAC in that scheme soon ti have a locomotive to compare this one to

Your friendly neighborhood CNW fan.

the 2 window SD60M isnt much nicer either. they all suck unless they're standard cab hood units. mind you i only think this for SD60s because it's one of my all time favorite locomotives.

it spells tough? i dont see it there. to me, it spells "sadly mutated locomotive"

Its a good thing that there is the saying: "To Each It's Own"  because everyone has their favorites, like I really like the look of MRL and appose to something like CNW.  Maybe I'm not a Packers' fan.  So if there wasn't oppostion in all things in the world then there wouldn't be a good or bad or right or wrong.  There would just be Santa Fe

LMFAO!!!!! so ATSF is the source of all neutrality? nice, man. yes i use that statement many a time. i just really really dont like SD60Mu's.  nor do i like CNW for packer reasons. i hate football. i

Go watch or play REAL football! Heh heh heh Wink [;)]. Real Madrid, Barcelona, Arsenal, Juventus. Manchester United or even my hometown favourite and across the tracks neighbour Feyenoord Rotterdam.

That silver undercarriage looks horrible with that orange, IMO. I think the standard cabs with the black undercarriage look real sharp in comparison.

But I'm no fan of silver trucks...they get dirty way too fast and then look like crap.  Engines with silver underbellies should be saved for passenger trains (complete with frequent washings, of course Wink [;)]).

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

The 3 window SD60Ms remind of those god awful 3 and 4 window Canadian cabs. UGH!

Needless to say, that SD60M looks a lot better than anything else I've seen wearing the BNSF Nike logo scheme.

Those 4 window Canadian cabs look like a spider to me.  I too can't stand them.

GEVO's wear the "Nike logo scheme" Best, and that's about it.

What I don't like is when the BNSF puts those patched up Executives on the point of the H2's and the 'New Image' units. You talk about UGLY.

Are you talking about those green and cream locomotives?  From a strictly eastern viewpoint - those engines are very classy.  I only have seen two of them and they were pretty grungy...but I bet they were a site when new.  Heck, they still are a site - I would rank that as one of the top paint schemes in the past 20 yrs.

Yes, the green/cream paint scheme was one of the nicest I have ever seen and I loved it when the SD70MAC's were new.  Nowadays the green/cream MAC's are pretty darned grungy and look terrible, but they do look good in the new scheme as well.

Executives is not what its called first of all. Its the Grinstein scheme. Second, those look better than half of those crappy Santa Fe units rolling around, not to mention the faded out BNSF units...

This paint scheme is considered sexy in advertising circles.

Therefore BNSF must park some of these newly painted units in an attractive location where photographers can photograph all those sexy railroad employees around this attractive new scheme.
