PINK!
Posted by Anonymous on Friday, March 31, 2006 11:30 AM
OMG THE COLOR IS PINK. The new color is Pink, who went wrong there. Pink is the new CTA line, for those who dont live in Chicago. Cta held a contest for kids to rename the new line. I chose Silver and it was the runner up. MANY people are not happy with this. Especaily the people who live in the tough town of Ceciro!
What do you think, do you like pink, silver or a different color? Do you agree with the new line color of pink?

I like the idea of silver, NOT PINK! Now that it's pink the terrorists can spot it from a longer distance away than before.

Well, I don't know.
Pink is not a nice color for a train even if it is only a name.
On the other hand. I read a story in an newspaper this week about some experiments with pink. It was like this: when asked, members of youth gangs in LA would not commit crimes if they had to appear in pink before the press and court. Peer pressure you know... Also, according to this article, a warden of a prison (in Texas I think) put inmates who had raped other inmates in pink coveralls during work detail outside the prison. Hardly any raping went on in that prison anymore.
So, if there is mucht vandalism and the vandals are caught, well put them in pink and let them clean or paint a pink cta-train, live on tv! Should be an interesting reality tvshow.
greetings

In a year where Brokeback Mountain wins way too much acclaim, why not The Pink Line?

The Pink Line? In Cicero? Al Capone must be spinning in his grave like a rotisserie gone beserk! (Believe his headquarters was in Cicero.) Too bad he's not around - he could machine-gun whomever chose that name.

Yes these are all very encouraging reasons for pink. I am glad. I am so looking forward to taking pictures of a pink train. That is the last thing on my list to do before I die so I best prepare myself. Here I thought I would never live to see the day......[banghead][banghead][banghead][banghead][banghead][banghead][banghead]

Why don't you just let it go, it is what it is, and it won't change, so it is over.

I'd have to go along with the idea that the name of the line is "Pink," not to color of the rolling stock. Well, maybe some number plates somewhere. I'm sure that if the designation isn't popular with the people who actually ride the line, it'll get changed.

If they actually were going to paint the rolling stock, they should dig into the history books and find out how Lionel made out with their pink railroad...

Whoa, there. I live in the Chicago area and the hate-mail thing you claim is news to me -- and I read three daily newspapers and watch local news for 90 minutes each evening. The news media has unilaterally reported the CTA is pleased with the amount of publicity and exposure the new color choice has brought to the new line.

For those of you who are unfamiliar with the Chicago Transit Authority, each of its commuter electric lines (third rail) from the suburbs into the city is color-coded for memorability. NO ONE will ever forget which one is the Pink Line. But nothing will be painted PINK, except maybe the background of signs designating the "Pink Line."

Since none of the print and broadcast news media is reporting what you allege about hate mail, WEEZ -- please disclose your source. Or is your statement just wishful thinking?
