No to most of the rest - I am independent.

I think mostly Royal blue with silver highlights...would have to work on letter color. Maybe cursive black? Yeah.....

Locomotives Black & Red, they would stick out pretty much anywhere, especally here in WI, were most of the scenery is Green in the Summer, and White or a sickening dead color in the the Winter and Early spring. Freight cars would probably be a dark gray (UP or SP Gray), or a dark blue.

I'm not really sure. I once saw an IAIS Geep that was all green and I thought it looked cool. I've always liked the B&O paint scheme, but would probably do a variation on it, maybe an orange stripe or something. Most likely, I would adapt the paint scheme from a used locomotive, e.g. an ex-UP, repaint the yellow with blue, repaint the red stripe with green and use yellow lettering... THAT would look sharp!

Of course, I always liked the old CGW red and black paint scheme too...

Again, I would probably just adapt another railroad's paint scheme, most likely from a used locomotive. I always liked CP Rail's italic lettering, so I would use something like that, since I think it conveys the image of speed -- although I think a shortline probably wouldn't have much of that!!! [:0]

In Hierarchy, my upcoming novel, one of the main characters rides a "RailTran" passenger train from Chicago to the fictitious town of Midwest City. Paint scheme is maroon and red, separated by white stripes. Colors are in honor of the University of Wisconsin (red) and fictitious Illinois Midwestern University (maroon) which are located on the RailTran line.

I would have my paint scheme be something like a murial of well known things about Nebraska. One part of the engine would be red for the huskers. Nebraska's football team. Nebraska is a big corn growing state so I would have another section with cornfields on it. I would also have a section with wilflowers on it. I would seek input from others. There would be zig - zag lines on the engines also. The railroad that owned the engines would be named the "Nebraska regional murial railroad." ( Wierd name isn't it ![:D] ) That would be my paint scheme and railroad. Cool Question! [8D]
