(1) New forum, same jerk(s) trying to hijack it.....GO AWAY

(2) Political?-YES Something Hokey Go'in on?-YES ...really strange that they know the name of the engineer (railroad can't give it out - Gov't says that's illegal)

(3) Local Yokels out of control? Maybe- The yellow press there in Warren did not do a good job of stating the facts. Was the train completely stopped (ie-Not Switching) for the prescribed period...train moves even slightly and the clock starts over again from zero.... (Media and railroads usually don't mix - surprised they got the name of the operating railroad right, surprised they didn't call them B&O / C&O or one of their predecessors)

(4) Would not be surprised if the locals over stepped their boundaries (Fortunately, the feds can step in and over-rule as can the courts....)

Mudchicken --- You are square here, all four corners. Missouri and Company throw their cluster bombs to get attention. So, how you stop them is not to answer them or comment in your messages about them or even to mention them. Then they will go someplace else - any place as long as it is not near me or you!

Civility costs nothing.
Pop.

Pop, you just won Post of the Week. [^] Now, if I only had something to award you.

I don't want the negativity of a few to drive away comments from many others. Try to maintain a certain level of tact when debating with other users. Step away from the computer for a few minutes and cool your jets before launching into someone. It's OK to disagree, just do it tastefully.

And finally, swearing is swearing. I don't care if you use symbols to get around the filter. If I see it, I'll delete it. Not just the word, the post. Please be good.

Thanks,
Erik

It sounds like the police had a scanner and spent some time researching the Senator's occupation etc. (The personal info was likely available through assorted public documents because he is a senator.) Had to have been planned ahead of time.

What rule in the Gcor?
Now, if you mean my employeer may, in their timetable and their general rules, prohibit me from discussing a accident, well, a judge may also prohibit you from discussing a case while the case is ongoing, beyond that, no one can forbid me from speaking to whomever I chose.

Back in the Seaboard Coast Line days in Lincolnton North Carolina a empty hopper train was clocked by a city cop and he ran allongside the RR with blue light on and the engineer thought something was wrong and at the next crossing the engineer got a speeding ticket.
