Conrailman, you definitely have our sympathies here, as we're going through the same thing. My wife's mother passed away Wednesday in her home. I'm praying for your family as well as my wife's family.

Conrailman, all I can say (other than to offer you and your family my condolances) is to urge you to always remember the good times and not any of the not so good like the recent weeks and your fond memories of Dad will carry you through these tough times. As others have said, your Dad was fortunate to pass in his own bed with loved ones surrounding him, and I hope and pray I will also be so fortunate some day myself.

Conrailman, I just want to echo eolafan's message. Last Thanksgiving day, my father lost his battle with leukemia. Fortunately, my brother made it from Buffalo the day befroe so the whole family was together. Remembering the good times will help. It will take time but keep in mind the support of family and friends. They are there for you. I will keep your family in my prayers.

There are no words that will take away your pain. But please know, that we, your forum family, stand with you to comfort you and be your friends. It is never easy to lose a family member wether it be a person or even a house pet. It will take time to heal the pain but as time passes it will become easier to make it through each day. Don't dwell on the past but look forward to the future to meet with him in Heaven. Cherish every moment with your family now while you can. Don't forget your father, but try to remember the good times you and he had together.

We had a Beautiful Military Funeral for my Dad Russ Harris on Monday Nov. 7, 2005. Alot of People came to see my Dad, Former Conrail Workers and are Towns Former Police Chief and alot of other people. My Dad was So Loved in are Town in Blairsville, Pa, everyone Said my Dad was Greatest Guy they ever Met. It has been the toughest 3 days of my Life Being at the Funeral Home. I will Miss My Dad Very Very Much Now.

It is good to see your name again. I am sorry you went through such a hard time, but now you know how you felt and can help comfort others in the future who come under the same circumstances.

Remember, many people on these forums exchange emails. Since you do not have your email listed, none of such could send you a personal condolence. But you are still welcome to email those of us who have our email listed. Many friendships are formed and strengthened through the avenue of email. Trust me, they open a new door for friends and friendships.

I lost my uncle in the year 2000. He was very sick and was an invalid for serveral years.
So I know and understand what you are going through. May God bless your dad and he
