This post is comical... The UP, BNSF & whoever being taken over by who? The PC&Nothing (I already forgot their name). Electric blue steam engines... I can't wait to see that retro UP special paint job on engine 2005 (to protect the licensing issues).

You know what they say about Texas... everything is bigger - including the rumors

Somebodies HO railroad has gotten way out of control,
CC

I would be careful with that PC&Nothing but. There are some fans around here ya know.[;)]

I don't have a clue as to who the PC&N is. I'm sure there are fans out there. I'm also sure that not buying the UP, or the BNSF. I could have called the PC&N the Phony Crap & Nothing. Na... that's even more offensive.

California isnt a state, its another planet, just real, real close!

Show me this special program! Is the government forcing all the major railroads to sell, won't this create a rail monopoly out west? The government is not likely to allow any mergers much less UP to BNSF!

Texas was the only state that was it's own country before it joined the United States. Because of that, Texas was granted special privisions in cases, like this particular merger, where a Texas law that was on the books before they joined the union supercedes any subsequent federal law that might disagree with that law. That's why we all carry sidearms. We could do it before, so why not now?

m

Sorry to burst the bubble of all Texans, my nephew included, but California was briefly an independent country (about six months or so) during the beginning of the Mexican War and that fact is still advertised on their state flag.

Guys, guys, guys...settle down and take a deep breath. I can't believe the gullability of some of you to what is most certainly a big joke. First, such a massive move would certainly be the biggest railroad industry buyout in history and you gotta believe that if this guys heard a rumor about it, so would some reporter from a major news outlet, newspaper, etc. and I have just searched and searched the busienss press...NOTHING AT ALL. If I am wrong with what I am about to speculate to be the case I will appologize profusely, but here goes...I believe this guy csmith9474 is just some young kid trying to get everybody's attention (which he has succeeded in doing) or trying to make a name for him/herself on this forum (you don't want to start something like this as you will become very infamous and nobody will ever take you seriously again...it has happened here before and they are banished forever)...or he/she may be some nut case nerd just craving attention...and getting it. That said, if I am wrong I appologize in advance to csmith9474 and to everybody else, but I will make a bet I am right on. AS OTHERS HAVE SAID BEFORE IN THIS THREAD, AS DID CLARA PELLAR WITH HAMBURGERS....WHERE IN HECK IS YOUR PROOF?

PROOF, DOCUMENTATION, SUBSTANTIATION, OR SHUT THE HELL UP!

Simmer down now. This has gone on too long. Didn't think anybody was buying into that garbage. Anybody with a sense of humor? And no, I don't want to make a name for myself, nor do I need to. Heck of a thought though. Sorry for offending anyone. Just have a nice weekend.[:)]

Jeez, people, LIGHTEN UP. For those of us who know the PC&N as a fun little short line, this has been a lot of fun. Yes, there are some fans of the line, me included. If you're so gullible as to believe ANY of this to be true, then I feel pretty sorry for you. Some of you have become such foamers that you forgot that this is a fun hobby. Remember fun? I've been wanting to say this the last two days but I wanted to see how long it would be before some of you "serious" railfans figured out we were just having some fun.

And one more thing...I checked some of your profiles, and most of the really gullible posters seem to be young guys. If you young fellers want to play in the adult world you need to start using a little common sense and develop a sense of humor. You'll need it.

I truly hope that all this doesn't lead to PC&N bashing threads. I can see it now. Good luck bashing one of the soon to be largest rail empires in the world.[;)]

What? Clara Peller runs the PC&N? I thought she was dead. I guess the electric blue paint scheme matches her hair.

Speaking of rumours, I heard that UP wants to change its motto from UP we will deliver to UP everywhere which incidentally is the same motto of a company that makes cathaders-smells like another lawsuit.[:D]

Let's see if we can all agree to let this one die, RIGHT NOW, and move on to some REAL railroad related conversation. It will be interesting to see if there are any more posts here...HOPE NOT!
