Years ago, there was the "Kingston & Pembroke" ( which only ran to Renfrew) and was commonly known as the "Kick and Push". Absorbed by the CPR and now only a trail through the bush.

"There is nothing in life that compares with running a locomotive at 80-plus mph with the windows open, the traction motors screaming, the air horns fighting the rush of incoming air to make any sound at all, automobiles on adjacent highways trying and failing to catch up with you, and the unmistakable presence of raw power. You ride with fear in the pit of your stomach knowing you do not really have control of this beast." - D.C. Battle [Trains 10/2002 issue, p74.]

An old narrow-gauge line in Ohio, the Bellaire, Zanesville, and Cincinnati (it got only as far as Zanesville in its life, and was torn up in the late 1920's), legendary for being built on the cheap, with rickety bridges and hand-me-down rolling stock:

Bent, Zig-zag and Crooked

Lake Erie and Western (built and owned by New York Central, later purchased by Nickel Plate Road):

Leave Early & Walk

The (old) Wheeling and Lake Erie:

Wailing and Leg Weary

CSX:

Consistenly Stupid X-cuses.

Yep, I think there was a post like this before, but you frequently see this happen on here, where someone starts up what has been done before.

Why y'all picking on Old Timer, he wants to post about NS, that's fine, he seems to have more railroad knowledge than most on here, not that he needs me to defend him.
