Nice line of storms came through about three hours ago. Small hail, high winds. Right in the middle of it we got called out for a large tree down with wires involved. Had to close the road for a bit. As I was leaving the house for that call, my weather station was alarming for a rain rate of 4" per hour. Fortunately, it didn't last that long - we only got 2/3" of rain from the storm...
Filed a report with NWS Buffalo. Nice part of being a known spotter is that your reports get some credence that John Q might not.

tree68 zugmann I got to run on Saturday, too. Wasn't really my first choice of how to spend a nice Saturday, but it was a pretty easy job. During the summer, my "weekends off" tend to be mid-week...

If your weekends have been mid-week around here you would have been in luck. The last 7 actual weekend have been rainy with chances of flash flooding.

lThis is truly amazing! Enjoy. Wonderland in Hamburg, GermanyRemember the two brothers, in Germany, who had a wonderful model railway that was something to see? This is an update of their German Wonderland. A short review, it was started by two brothers as a place to show their hobby began to grow by leaps & bounds. Soon they were joined by other 'Model Railroad Clubs' and other craftsmen. Some were electricians, model makers, carpenters, computer programmers. Their wives would stop by to see what they were doing and usually bring them a lunch. One thing led to another. Three of the ladies had worked at a bakery, several visitors would ask if they had a snack bar. The idea was planted; some of the carpenters came and built a nice restaurant area for the bakery and a kitchen, too. If the fresh coffee smell didn't get you, then the bakery definitely would Over 400,000 man hours were spent making this dream come true. This was about 5 years ago. One of the breweries came and furnished all the tables and chairs, serving counter etc. Their latest finished area is the airport. Planes look like they are flying and landing.
