Here's how I do it.

I read through a thread that has a title that I may be interested in.  Or maybe there's one of the regulars posting to it.  If I find something to comment on, I do so if I feel like it.  Half the time I forget what the thread title is, and even if I do scroll up to look at it, I still post what I was going to.

I don't get the whole on-topic/off-topic nonsense.   Just post something that others may find useful.  If a thread drifts - so be it.  That's the nature of the beast called discussion.

It's been fun.  But it isn't much fun anymore.   Signing off for now.

As a result, I felt that I should post my findings to you all.

I work for a famous railroad-related hotel. Do I get to bid on the job?

Anyway, while we have a post about the forum, I've always wondered why it is either "cs.trans.com/..." or "trc.trains.com" why isn't it "www.trains.com?"

SO we already have a ruler of the universe and NONE of us can have the job?

And does ANYONE know why trains.com has the cs or trc prefix instead of www?

Has it escaped your notice that anyone fit to be ruler of the universe (or even protractor) would KNOW the answer to that? Devil

That's the nature of the beast called ADHD.  Just kidding! Just Kidding.(smiley face). Actually there is nothing keeping anybody from bringing the thread back on topic after it has wandered far afield.

I have a protractor and I am not afraid to use it Wink I don't need to be protector of the universe, I am awake while others sleep, watching over a small Montana town that most everyone here has heard of.

It has also come to my attention that NO one seems to know? Is it classified information?

ALL information is "Classified" and is available on a "need-to-know" basis.

But there are many "Classifications" and any number of "needs".

Maybe it is not the "Classification" or the "need", but rather a matter of "care" (or not).

I spent no small amount of time on-line and found some sideways references to the "cs." part, but didn't understand anything I found.  Sorry.

while searching "TRC" I ran across a reference to white hat hacking, so make of that what you will... Huh? THreat Research Center. Not sure, maybe Kalmbach is takign part in the research.

Had you understood IP dotted address protocols as a fearless leader should, this would not be so mysterious.  These are internal sites within the Kalmbach structure.  .cs is the forums (probably 'community site'); .trn is Trains Magazine; .mrv is Model Railroader videos; .grw is Garden World ... etc.

SO I must ask, good sir... are all of these videos you are posting some sort of encrypted message? Many unrelated to trains. Do they have some sort of secret connection?

That is arguably the worst piece of YouTube poop I have seen so far.

The perp styles himself 'editor/artist' in the credits.  He is neither.

You are cruel, Murray, to subject us to this, even with railroad content.  Has anyone been able to "decode" any particular meaning out of this?
