A little early, but tired of trying to get in thru the window!  So will nail the door shut on the old one and open this 2nd chapter.  If this doesn't work, will have to call the landlords.

Somehow, the reply count was off on the old thread.   The count was about 4 over what it should have been, so the program would start a new page when the last one still had 12 entries.   Once we filled the page, it would work again.   I sent a message to moderator a while back, but techs said they couldn't reproduce the problem.   The page had apparently filled up and it was OK again.   Anyway, nothing like a fresh start.

Walking to PO this morning, heard the honks of the Canadian Air Force, errr - Canada geese, headed north, in great numbers, as they are wont to do this time of year.

Normally they might warrant just a glance, but this time it wasn't Canada geese at all - it was a large flight of snow geese!

A few minutes later I saw a mixed V of Canada and snow geese - one type on each leg of the V.  I've ever seen that before!

Nice day, so far.  Lots of sun.  Let's hope it stays clear tonight - there's a good possibility of Northern Lights!

For April Fool's Day, my daughter Ellen and her husband Rich decided to take their sleeping children and move them to each other's bedrooms. What happened while they were doing it is funny (Emily [7] is still the wonderfully strange one!), and we agreed with the results they expected.

But what actually happened...well, it's hard to say who fooled whom! Ellen, as usual, tells it best:

"Rich and I just switched all the sleeping kids into different bedrooms. Got Nico into Em's bed, no problem. Got Kates into Nico's bed, no problem. Em is a light sleeper, and woke up in transfer to Katelyn's bed long enough to say, "Why do I not know what's going on here? Seriously, why?" and then break into adorable giggles when we told her that we were playing an April Fool's joke on the kids.

"Most likely scenario from here on out: Katelyn wakes up in Nico's room at 6 a.m. and goes into her own room, waking up Emily, who is not not a fan of waking up early. Nico wakes up in Emily's room and starts playing Minecraft on her tablet. At least we got a good chuckle out of it tonight."

But...

"Here's what ended up happening: Nico woke up at 12:45 in Em's room, walked into his room, turned on the light and yelled at Kates for being in his bed. She was very confused, Nico thought it was pretty funny. Moved Kates to Em's bed and let Nico sleep in his own. After an hour of not being able to sleep in Emily's room, Katelyn was pretty much a wreck, so I moved Em back to her bed (asleep, but muttering "confused, so confused") and let Katelyn sleep in her own bed. Joke's on us.

"Oh, plus Nico also woke up at 6 with a fever...I think part of why he was up in the middle of the night, which is not like him.

"Ha ha, universe. Very funny, with the sick kid and the chaos and the cold wind. Can we be done with the April Fool's now?"

April Fool's Day started at 4:00 A.M. this morning, when a very bright strobe light started flashing on my nightstand about 18" from my face.  I hopped up, half awake, and tried to turn off the light.  It had no on/off button, and the cord was plugged into a 100 foot extension cord, and the joint was wrapped in electrical tape.

Once I was full awake,  I started following the cord down the hallway.  It was dark.  I was in my underwear, I wasn't wearing my glasses, and I was using the strobe light for a flashlight.  The 100' cord was taped to another 100' cord, that was taped to a 50' cord.  I followed the cord with the strobe light.  It went down the hall, through the foyer, accross the living room, out into the sun room, back through the dining room, into the kitchen, around the island, through the dinette, back through the foyer to the stairs, down the stairs to the basement, across the family room, over the ping pong table to the plug in.  Above the fireplace, 250 feet from my bed, the cord was plugged in to a timer, set for 4:00 A.M.  I couldn't do anything but laugh.  They got me. Mischief

Woohoo, I was able to use the front door!  No more sneaking in the window after Mookie.  Smile

Sunny and 67 degrees here in Southeast Missouri.  The prognosticators are calling for rain to start tonight continuing tomorrow and Friday.  Some strong storms possible because of a high temperature of 75 on Thursday followed by a high of 56 on Friday.  This is Spring weather in Missouri, I have learned.

Guess the whooping cranes are right in the middle of the state, eating and resting.  I think I heard they will gain about a pound for the last leg of the trip.  A pound on a bird sounds like a lot.

Nasty weather for south and east of Nebraska.  Will watch out for friends in the Rolla MO area.

Ground civil engineer - sounds like something on a cannibal tribe's menu.  Probably more expensive than the lawyer steaks...

Meanwhile - I don't think I've ever seen a live fly land on its back.  They're pretty "stupid" this time of year.

Well, I would like to believe I am a psychic, but I ran my thoughts together.

I was commenting on you coming in the window after me.

The Troll was in a couple of aliases, and if you read carefully and look carefully, you can usually spot them at their first posting.

So are you a garden gnome or a - I don't know what the other would be.  Maybe someone can enlighten me on Gnomes.

That time of year out here in So Central Ks... Looks like we are going to get some rain and weather ugliness. Huh?   Weather map shows lows and front all across this area from coast to coast...  Today was beautiful, walked outside in shirt sleeves.  Aty least it is not miserably cold , Temps in the 50s and 60 in the day and 30s and 40s at night...   BNSF traffic seems somewhat down in volume, since the weekend days...They were really moving thru here over the weekend. Must be pretty low on the boards... Have a good rest of the week everyone.   Be Safe. Cool

Randy - you might want to check in with home - I think it's snowing there....

Looks like we'll see some rain, but escape the wintry and severe stuff, at least for now.

Thought I might catch some Northern Lights the past couple of nights, but I didn't.  It was mostly clear, too.
