Eighties here today - not super humid, but still enough to work up a good sweat.

Got a couple of wood projects done.  If I can find the casters I bought for the table saw, I'l get that project out of the way, too.

Service on the truck tomorrow, and I'll check with the body shop to see when he can get the truck in.  Called the insurance company to check on the claim and they said it's all settled and the body shop has the check.  Would have been nice to send me a courtesy copy of some sort to let me know...

Off to other projects...

Good Evening...

Got to 88F here..and, of course, with 75% humidity felt more like 100F...back to heat and stick...yuck.
 :-X
we are lucky here with neighbours...no one seems to like tall grasses! lol!
 :)
We just spent the day indoors under the A/C. No sense going out with everything that needed done already done earlier in the week...
 8-)

Today, my church held its annual picnic, in a park just east of the I-80 summit of the Wasatch. About the middle of last week, rain was forecast for today, but we had none. so the outing was excellent.

Mookie

Tree - are you running or just housekeeping those 3 days?

Housekeeping is part of the job when conductor - washing windows, sweeping floors, etc.

Don't have schedule in front of me.  I know I'm qualifying on territory on Saturday.  I've run all of it (as engineer), but I'm not officially qualified on all it yet.   I'm pretty sure I'm conductor the other days.

Edit - I'm engineer Thursday and Saturday, Conductor Friday.

I may steal Houston Ed's barrel of Gatorade - I think it's supposed to be hotter here than there, at least early in the week...

morning

Breakfast is all set. Guessers say the triple h's are coming back. Did see the Interstate unit at Deshler. Also the dispatch center in Indianapolis had problems and had to be evacuated. Things got backed up around the diamond. Going to rest up today. Back to work tonight.

There - the biggest day of the 45th French Festival is in the books.  Decent parade, nice fireworks.  The weather gods cooperated with most clear skies and no rain, although the +82F at parade time took its toll.  No marchers fell out of ranks, but I passed out a lot of water.

Resting on Sunday.  Lots to do this week, including three days on the railroad.

After a sunny afternoon, the storms are starting to fire.  Raining pretty hard here right now, with lightning and thunder.  Maybe even some hail.

Local weather radar is still out of service, so we're relying on Buffalo, Burlington, Albany, and Binghamption.  All are so far out as to miss the low stuff, though.

Showers this AM, but sunny right now.  That may help warm things up to keep the stuff to the west of us alive for a while.  So far we're not looking at any flood risk in this area.

Good Evening...

95% humidity and 84F right now...hot? Oh yea....

The TO storm dumped more rain in 2 hours than did Hurricane Hazel in one day in 1954....it was just nuts there....

Peyton place continues in the schools here! Where were these teachers when I was in school....

One of my HS teachers married one of his students not long after she graduated.  She was the sister of one of my classmates (and track teammates) and a couple years ahead of us in school.  Made things interesting when the coach's wife showed up at meets...

We're under a flash flood watch for tomorrow, as the cold front moves through.  Might get a heavy thunderbumper or two out if it, too.

Hoping for good weather on Saturday for the big French Festival in the next town over.  I'll be on my mountain bike for EMS coverage.

He who finds a wife finds a good thing (Solomon).

It has intrigued me that a dog will go outside in the summer and lie in the hot sun for a time. Buddy (who used to grace my posts) did it; Holly (who can almost be seen in my current avatar) does it. Perhaps the dogs feel too cool inside, and want to get warm?

Yesterday, I went to a swim meet at the pool which is about a block from our house. Jackie was one of the swimmers, and she did well. Katie and I were asked to time the swimming, so I ran a stopwatch fro the first time, I think, since I took physics in college (57 years ago)

Our highs have dropped into the nineties, but we expect 100+ for a day or two; our lows stay about seventy. We do get some showers of rain (may it not rain much this coming Sunday, for that is the date of my church's annual picnic).

Peace be with you. 87 and sunny in Carolina. It is hot to us, but the girls are lying in the grass and won't come in. Go figure.

Bad times at the beach. There seems to be a drowning a day, sometimes multiple. Rip currents are the culprits and often, drownings result from trying to save others.

Larry, our fair is in October. Way too hot now.

Peyton place continues in the schools here! Where were these teachers when I was in school....

Nuff sed. Everyone take care and stay cool.

Kinda muggy here today - but it's cloudy, so the heat is less of an issue.  They're promising cooler temps starting tomorrow, to be delivered with a side of thunder.

County fair opens tonight with a parade.  Think I'll stay home.  Ours is reputedly the oldest continuously operating county fair in the country.
