Good MorningWell, we did get rained on last night...and lightning all around us for hours as well. Today will be clearing up and drying out a tad...high of 78F feeling like 84F...so...a bit of a change from the ridiculous stuff ...Today is a day for BBQ'ing later on..and in a good way too!!Have a good day!!
Mooks: We are in Ontario Canada...whereas AgentKid is in Alberta,....We do get more of the humid stuff from the midwest here....

BOCyl: I don't remember for sure, but aren't you more toward the eastern end of Canada? Agent Kid is more on the western end (Montana USA area?
We need rain, but not sure we want to go thru all that to get it.
She who has no signature! cinscocom-tmw
zugmann We can't even get any relief at night. 75+ degrees, no breeze, and humidity thick enough to swim. Needless to say (though I will anyway) Gatorade and water consumption has reached epic levels.

Yep...last few nights we actually only got to 81 here at night...add the humidity and.....

Good EveningWe got clobbered but good this evening...three lightning strikes within a minute of each other...two got some pine trees next to us and the third struck our house...I checked the house and found that our 2" wide braided copper wire had taken the hit and left a few scorch marks around the surrounding grass!!! As well...we got 4" of rain from this thing and another inch of marble sized to golf ball sized hail Right now it is still grumbling and raining out....77 feeling like 87....bit of a difference here...
It's been fun. But it isn't much fun anymore. Signing off for now.

We've still got it hot here--the temp is at 92 on the computer (reporting station about two miles away), and Arthur seems to register a lot hotter (98.7). However, today it's accompanied by a decent breeze most of the time. Something might be blowing in.I'm still planning to take the train into the City for a concert at Millennium Park tonight, but don't expect much relief to the heat, with the wind blowing off the prairie, as it were. However, the change is supposed to come in the next few hours, so I will be toting an umbrella. Two nights ago I was caught in a downpour there. Bought a poncho at the park, but never got it out of the bag-- soon as it was paid for the rain stopped.

zardoz grampaw pettibone The waitress was very good to us and I tried to be good to her, because the tightwad across from us left a dollar plus some change as a tip. Hey, she has gotta make a living too!! I really feel for those folks that must make a living in public service (waitresses, library staff, retail clerks, etc). They have to put up with so much crap from some people, and those same people seem to be the ones that leave the least tip. If the service is ok, I leave a 15%; if the service is good, I leave 20%; if the service is great, I'll leave 25%+. Since I don't go out all that often, leaving a nice tip won't break my piggybank.

I think the Chicken is being overly optimistic, but hope I am wrong. I know none of that will reach this far east. Meanwhile, might want to cut da Boyz toenies so they don't scrape the sidewalk and start a forest fire....
We hope Randy is very, very careful if he ever has to pay a visit in this backyard. There is a certain highway exit ramp here with a reputation for spilling beer trucks with frightening regularity. (It really ties-up traffic on the west side of town when people start showing up looking for free beer) Anything with a high center of gravity tends to get caught in the trap. Add-in a little centripital force and Voila! - Instant Mess & Beer Party. http://www.9news.com/rss/story.aspx?storyid=343824
Meanwhile, we wait (soap on a rope in hand) for the monsoon storms to arrive.

Good MorningAnother hot and humid day here...88 feeling like 108....le sighGet to go and do a few things at the mall then try to pick up some more blue foam at home desperate....Well....off to do dis....Have a good'un!!
more triple h weather. Matt is getting ready to go camping. Need to get his bike ready to go. Tonight is Friday .Breakfast is all set.
Peace be with you. Clear and 75, down from 95 earlier. The miserable weather continues, with statewide storms and rain. South of here, they had 4 1/2" overnight. There was an inordinate amount of static crashes on the wireless this evening. All this weather is the remains of TS Chantal.
Yesterday, I had a quack appointment and the wife and I went to lunch at a place with an unlikely name: Lizard's Thicket. There we had a meal fit for royalty, at a very reasonable price. The waitress was very good to us and I tried to be good to her, because the tightwad across from us left a dollar plus some change as a tip. Hey, she has gotta make a living too!!
Everyone take care and stay cool.

While that is cool, I've been past Miller Industries in Chattanooga, where they build the heavy wreckers, way too many times. I'll take one of their 50-ton rotators on a twin-steer Kenworth chassis, please......
On the Wi-fi in Kingsville, OH, tonight, started in Hampton, NH this morning, will be in Shelby, IA by Friday, and hopefully Eau Claire, WI on Saturday to finish off this 1800-plus mile load. Gonna be tired by the end of it, but I need the money.....

Expecting heavy rain tomorrow in Denver - gotta remember to bring my soap-on-a-rope. The asparagus fields may make it thru the summer yet!
MookieNo weather today.
We started the day here the same way.
Now we're under a severe thunderstorm watch, and there's a couple of nasty looking storms getting ready to cross the lake/river from Canada.
Could be interesting.
At least I got my laundry off the line. As humid as it is, though, I'm mildly surprised it's dry...

Mookie No weather today. Nothing changed. Fishing decent. No change. Just musing to myself - there is an insurance commercial that involves a camel pestering office workers. I normally mute all commercials, since - well, you know why. But this one just makes me laugh out loud every time I see it. I hope it comes on today, since it is Wednesday and ....."hump day"...... good morning
more triple h stuff today.chores early then bed.need more salad for work tonight.
Good EveningHad a very hot muggy day here. Got to 92 feeling like 106 earlierTonight the low will be 75 feeling like 95. Oh joy oh bliss. Most of the lawn is now looking scorched which is really not helping my mood any.Anyhow thinking of turning in early as well. Have a bunch of meetings to do tomorrow. Another form of oh joy oh bliss...le sigh.
SJ, I'm glad your mood improved yesterday. I know how those things go...my significant other does not tolerate warm temperatures well, and takes it out on me (maybe because suffering in silence doesn't look or sound enough like suffering). Our forecast is for 3H weather at least through Thursday, with a slim chance of thunderstorms at any time (we get cloud formations that show a lot of potential, but they are just teasing us). Currently my computer says it's 91.I'm planning on taking the train into the city tomorrow evening and again Friday for concerts in Millennium Park with the Grant Park Orchestra. That's close enough to the Lake to be cooler, but the mile-or-so walk from the station has Pat disinterested.
Temp close to +90F. The home weather station says +97F, but it gets affected by the afternoon sun. The thermometer on the back porch (and still in some shade) is showing about +90F. Humidity is 67%. I'm about soaked.
Weatherguessers are forecasting thunderbumpers all three days I'm railroading. Sheesh. We can use the rain, but how about an early morning shower and clear skies by 10AM?
Picked up an eight-pack of Gatorade to take with me. Will probably have to restock for Saturday...
At least the truck passed its state inspection this morning. Good for another year.
Back to projects!
afternoon
muggies here in Nw Ohio. Taking extra water to work. Mookie a lot of recent accidents have occurred due to cell phones. Chores inside than work tonight.
My barometer about broke its needle going up. Told Driver we were done with rain probably until next spring.
Predicting back to the drought. Mandatory watering right now - rather than volunteer and then mandatory.
84 and 41% humid! Going to be in 90's all week.
Fishing yesterday went well. I got the paper read and the Jumble all done. Driver caught 4 bass. Day was happy after that. Saw a young man 2-oar sculling. Interesting. Since our fishing hole is trolling motors or less, we have all sorts of things that you don't see on other lakes. Remember, we are landlocked, so water here is always interesting. And quiet. Very quiet. The most noise is the people visiting while they walk around the lake. And every dog you can imagine and a few I didn't know existed. All leashed and very civilized!
Then you leave Utopia and hit the streets. Motorized murder and mayhem! Cells and texting.
Good MorningAnother hot and muggy day here. Going up to 90F feeling like 111F...indoor living is the thing for this week by the looks of things. Le Sigh....A friend of ours, who owns a couple of stores in 2 malls, told me this morning that it looks like the malls were pretty quiet yesterday...not a lot of foot traffic...this kind of makes me think that most people have taken heat advisories/alerts seriously. Oh, and yesterdays hay mowing took a couple of hours...early morning was still pretty sticky out....Have a good day!!
