Good Thursday morning everyone.  A little cool here in Louisville this morning, with a temp of 49 degrees.  Supposed to make it up to about 79 degrees today.  That will make it nice for doing laundry this afternoon.

Mookie, who was playing in the hockey game??  "Inquiring minds want to know".  And, you can raid the fridge any time you want, along with anyone else around here.  Better to raid the fridge, than someone's pocket, right?

Coffee is ready, as well as fresh juices.  Also have other morning beverages fresh and ready to go.  And breakfast is ready and on the warmer bar.

So sorry to hear about  Dick Clark's passing.  Most of us in here, and elsewhere on the trains mag site grew up with watching him on TV.  At my house growing up, we always watched American Bandstand, and later watched $10,000 Pyramid.  And, of course, when I could manage to stay awake on New Year's Eve, his Rockin' New Years Eve on TV.

Everyone have a good morning, take care, and see you all later.

Oh well, there is always next year.

Cold chix and cold pizza - a piece of each.  Yum!

Good Friday morning everyone.  Another cool morning, with temps in the low to mid 50s.  Rain supposed to make its way in, after 5 p.m. today.  Weather guessers say it'll be out of here by late morning, early afternoon.  Guess people heading downtown to the Waterfront, will get soggy, setting up their "fireworks viewing spots" in the morning.  (Heck, some people will be there tonight, setting up their tents, sleeping bags, etc.)

Mud, you're right:  Evansville isn't that far away from us.  Sure would be nice to see you again, if at all possible.  Or will the muddership be keeping close taps on you all?

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the warmer bar:  a small variety of doughnuts, danish, muffins, bagels, bear claws, along with bacon, eggs, toast.

Quentin, if you're able to make it in here this morning, will be remembering Jean and you in my prayers this morning.

Woke up at 4.  Couldn't get back to sleep.  I hate it when that happens.  Got a couple of things done, though.

Q - Wishing the best for your better half.

Busy weekend.  Open house at FD tomorrow (looking for new members!), clean up for said event tonight.  Gotta dig the mower out of the garage (and store the snowblower) on Sunday, then it's off to the local PBS station to run camera for their auction on Sunday night.

We won't get into my week ahead...

....More thanks friends, for Prayers.

"Mitral" heart valve is what will need to be repaired / replaced.....Couldn't do the job any longer....A condition we've known about for years, and now it's time to "get it fixed"....That's Jean's attitude.

We're surrounded by Prayers from all directions....and much appreciated.

Heart is strong, so if this surgery is a success, Jean should have a much improved quality of life.

Edit:  A double bypass too.  Surgery scheduled for 7 am this coming Monday morning.

Being a fan of "Dark Shadows" with Jonathan Frid as Barnabas it saddens me to report his passing; age 87.  Here shortly Johnny Depp's version will be coming out and Jonathan Frid and others from the original version do have a short appearances in it.

Good Saturday morning everyone.  Joe, thanks for fixing the coffee, juice, etc., and fixing breakfast.

Joe, our weather is the same way.  We did have a little bit of rain overnight.  But it seems to be just about over, at least here in our area of Louisville.  The weather guessers are saying that   we'll be lucky to see the temp reach 60 for a high today.  Could possibly see some sunshine, but it it going to be fairly cloudy most of the day.  They're hoping it will clear up so, so the air show will have its 3500' flying window.  Even in our neighborhood, I got to see some of the planes flying over our neighborhood, practicing yesterday afternoon..

Quentin, will continue saying prayers for Jean, you and rest of family, hoping that everything goes A-OK for Jean Monday morning.

Everyone have a good day, keep warm/cool, depending on whatever your local forecast is for today.  (One of the meteorologists said he wished he  had gloves in his pockets this morning, he sure could use them on his hands this morning:  temp was in the low to mid 40s, down on the river front.)

Thank You Paula....and everyone else.  We're on the countdown.  Our I U Ball Hospital is a great hospital here in Munice.

Single room in a newer Cardio part....Nice  to have privacy.

Many Prayers going up for her...from many directions.

Quentin, my prayers are with you and Jean, that the surgery will be successful and she will have an uneventful recovery.

As to privacy, I agree that it is much better than sharing a room. The hospital that I have used here has no shared rooms that I know of, and the nursing facility Ricki was in for three and a half months was able to give her a private room.

She had wanted to come back home after my trip to alumni gatherings this month, but if it became necessary for her to have the nursing care again, there was no guarantee that she would have a private room again. However, that is a moot point now, as she departed this life last Saturday. We had almost forty wonderful years together.

Here is our Saturday Night Pizza Fest menu:

01.  Anchovie

02.  Canadian bacon

03.  Cheese

04.  Chicago style

05.  Goetta

06.  Ham & green pepper

07.  Hawaiian

08.  Italian sausage

09.  Pepperoni/mushroom

10.  Supreme

And for anyone not interested in pizza, and would like something really warm to hit the spot, on this very cool, chilly day, I've also made a pot of mild chili.  Two kinds, actually:

1.  Chili w/beans and spaghetti

2.  Chili w/beans

Walt and I are watching the Thunder over Louisville Air Show, in the comfort and warmth of our living room.  Our local Fox channel is covering it this year (we think they also covered it last year).  Very nice seeing all the different planes.  It is a bit longer this year, between the different planes, as they are waiting until a plane is completely out of the air space, before the next one comes in.  That's what happens when you have very, very cloudy skies, doesn't it.

Everyone enjoy, have a good evening, and take care.

He will carry you thru this.  We must have faith.

And thank you for thinking of us now.  Jean has the full faith of the Lord and this fine facility I U Ball Hospital, here and with the team that will be doing her surgery.

You will go on my nightly Prayer List for strength, and love from the Lord.

Well, it has been a long time since I have been in the Cafe. The last couple of months have really been something.

My condolences to Johnny, and best wishes to Quentin and Jean.

Without getting into a long story now, my Mother has been quite ill. She has been hospitalized, and we are now looking for a long term care facility for her. Once she is settled in to a facility, then my brother, sister, and I begin the process of clearing out and selling her house. The house my parents bought 47 years ago last month, when we moved from the station in Irricana to Calgary.

Going through something like this, it seems like your mind is always reeling, but I have been following the goings on here even though I haven't had the time to post. Reading about Ricki and Jean, and just getting home from the first of what will be many more tours of care facilities prompted me to say a few words.

Everyone take care.

Bruce
