CW - the body isn't far behind you, but the eyes won't make it until later in the morning.  Must let them feel the heat of a cup of coffee.  Must also rest them next to a bagel, too.

Good Saturday morning everyone.  53 degrees here in Louisville this morning, with cloudy skies.   May see some rain later, think the report on the rain chances is iffy.

Feeling a little more refreshed this morning, after going to bed last night, just after 9 p.m.  and sleeping until 5:11 this morning.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  You also have a nice breakfast buffet on the warmer/serving bar, consisting of:  bacon, sausage, southwest omelettes, pancakes, waffles, grits, oatmeal, cream of wheat, fresh fruits, bagels, bear claws, and strawberry  and blueberry muffins.

Everyone enjoy your day, take care, and I'll see you all later this evening for our pizza fest.

At 4:40 p.m., we have a lovely temp of 63 degrees.  I can handle that very well.

Our Friday Fish Fry is now on the warmer/serving bar, with the regular fish, sides and dessert menu.

Walt said not only was the 'reunion' last night, great, but this friend is a former National Guard member (whom he served in the Guard with) , and a rail fan.  He gave Walt a very nice gift:  some old post war Lionel model trains.

Still very tired from our night out last night.  I've been going since 6:45 this morning.  Both the other members of the household are napping.  Guess I'll just go to bed early tonight.  Everyone enjoy your supper/dinner, have a good evening, take care and see you all later:  like probably in the morning.Sleep

....Our water table is plenty high in our area....Water was laying out on the Fairway behind me in Dec. and the ground must really be soaked to do that.

When we get our "share" of the white stuff Larry....If we could find a way, they {snowmobiling}, folks could have all we receive.

Dozens of golf carts on the Fairway behind us today.

Our seasonal "normal" snow fall here is about 25"....So that really doesn't produce much of the water here that we use.

But regardless, I'm sure sooner or later, we'll see it come....But in the meantime, we're cheating Winter.

The lack of snow, besides hurting businesses that depend on it (like snowmobiling) doesn't bode well for waterlevels on the Great Lakes, either, not to mention wells, etc.

Syracuse, which usually gets well over 100" of snow per year, has had very little snow.  Even the "snow belt" on and around Tug Hill is well below average.

I can live without -40F, but we do need some of the white stuff.

....Sunshine, and getting warmer...To be in the 50's today....Of course, no snow here.

Hope we don't pay a high price {later}, for all this unusual January weather.  Heating degree days running lower than last year, and below normal as well.

Snowed here overnight - an inch, maybe.  Not enough to break out the snowblower, although I'll push the snow off the driveway.

Breakfast is out of the way, time to go check the mail.

Good Friday morning everyone.  Temps aren't too bad this morning, around 43 degrees here in Louisville, going for a high of about 64 degrees today.  Can't wait for that warmup, as I'm feeling a bit cold this morning, for some strange reason.

Yesterday was a pretty good day for us.  The 3 of us went to visit some friends of Walt's.  It was the first time either Sarah or I had met them.  We had a very enjoyable evening, and Sarah and I made a couple of new friends.  Going to have to go out and find a very nice Thank You card to send them.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  A nice selection of doughnuts, danish, muffins, bagels and bear claws are on the warmer/serving bar, along with some bacon, eggs and toast.

Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all later.

Isn't "old news" an oxymoron?

Don't think I haven't thought of that more than once. I've come up with ideas like "news not previously posted on this forum", but that always reminds me of "The Artist Formerly Known as Prince"Laugh

Larry, while I've got your attention, I presume there must be trade journal type websites for firemen? The next time you are over there you should see if there is a picture of the Milk River Fire Dept. truck turned completely upside down by yesterday's winds. I guess the winds down there were in the 55-65 mph range and the driver lost control in a gust. It is a very strange sight indeed.

It is 43° now. Pretty darn good for 5:15 PM, the first week of January, in this part of the world.

No new RR news.

Good Thursday morning everyone.  31 degrees here in Louisville this morning.  Haven't heard any news or weather, so don't know what our high is to be today.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Breakfast is on the warmer/serving bar.

Don't know anything else this morning, so guess that's it for now.  Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all later.

Good evening,

Temp here is 63F, with the high today in the low 70's, sunny and a light breeze. My two older kids reported great surf this afternoon for their PE class.

Paula, that picture I did not take.  And it was not my car.  But....we had one identical to it back when...Both tops and all.   Have a photo on the desk here of Jean and I next to it taken over 50 years ago down in Florida.

Interesting tidbit about the number of folks by CPR at the beginning of the century, though.   Thanks!

Good afternoon.

We broke our record high temperature today with a high of 59°. Five degrees better than the previous record set in 1914. Calgary would have had less than 50,000 people then, and the CPR would have employed almost half of them. The Oil & Gas business really started here with the discovery of Natural Gas at High River later that year.

No new RR news.

Peace be with you. 20 degrees and sunny in Carolina this morning, headed for the high 40s later.

I spent yesterday morning at the dentist having my front toof put back in. A friend asked what happened and I replied that I am married! Actually, I was having a one on one with a BBQ rib when it happened. The dentist said it could stay in for 10 minutes or 10 years...

I spent some time on the Cresson railcam the other day just watching it snow, and found it quite soothing. For those of us who hardly ever see it, it s a novelty!

The phone is already ringing with political calls. Our primary is the 21st so it wil get worse until then.

Everyone take care and have a great day.

Tom, I have an idea of your experience with the tooth. Going on five years ago, I was eating lunch on Ocean after we left Halifax, and my tooth had an argument with an olive seed I did not realize I had picked up in a forkful of salad, and the tooth lost. The next morning, we changed to the next train to Toronto after we arrived in Montréal–and our car was run through to Windsor, which was our destination for that day. The following day, I should have gone to the hotel dentist inToronto after we arrived there, but I did not. So, I was not able to fully enjoy the excellent food we were served on the way to Vancouver, on the Canadian. When we at last arrived in Victoria, by way of Nanaimo and Courtney (turned around there), I went to a dentist who pulled the broken part out. Perhaps I should I have asked him to to attempt to put it back in, but I did not. So, I wear a denture. Tom, may you be buried with that tooth in.Smile

For some reason, Tom and I are sharing outside temperatures.

I had a good visit with one doctor yesterday; he thinks that a return visit in six weeks should take care of his concerns. I also had a short visit with Ricki afterwards; she seems to be settling in more. Friday, and every day thereafter, I hope to be allowed to take myself to see her.

As to the cause of being bunged up, several years ago, during the lunch that was served at the church after the church was decorated for Christmas and Christmas boxes were prepared for various elderly people, I stood up, tangled a foot with my chair, and fell to the floor, facedown. As it was, there was nurse in the house who patched me up. The next morning, it was my responsibility to read the Old Testament and Epistle selections for the day. I felt constrained to tell the truth: my appearance was not due to my being married–and there were enough witnesses in the congregation who could attest to the truth of my explanation. Of course, I had to say, "You should see what I did to the floor."Smile

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  29 degrees here in Louisville this morning, going for a high in the low 40s today, supposedly, our 'normal' temp for this date, 43 degrees by 4 p.m.  It will be nice to see the sunshine!

Went to bed at 9:30 last night, and didn't know anything until 5:30 this morning.  I knew I was really tired, so I decided to go on to bed.  Guess every once in a while, we all need to do that, don't we.

Coffee, juices, hot chocolate , reg. milk, hot cider and hot water for hot tea are all ready to go.  Bacon, sausage links, eggs, toast, biscuits & gravy, bagels and bear claws are on the warmer/serving bar.

Quentin, we do have caller ID, look at it all the time, before picking up the phone.  Definitely do not answer 1-800 #s, the ones that say "No name, private #", that sort of thing.  But there are several family member &  friends who call, that they come up as "Private name, private #" that we do try to answer.  Those are the ones that are turning out to be the political ads.

Everyone have a very good morning, keep warm, take care and see you all later.

Quentin, guess now, we'll all have to put up with political phone calls, throughout the day, from now until the Fall, when we go to the polls.  Bang Headarrrrrg.

Produce went relatively well this morning, especially since we only had about 30 people.  On the truck this morning:  cabbage, zuchinni squash, onions, potatoes and Yoplait yogurt (banana cream and cherry cherry).  I brought home a little bit of everything, except for potatoes.  Still have plenty of those on hand.

Quentin, believe we have 'warmed' up to about 22, 23 degrees, at 1:15.

C W....We did not set any heat records here today, but we certainly did have beautiful sunshine.  The warmer stuff is on the way through....Still right chilly here this evening.

The way around the political calls:  "Caller ID"....Remember how I said "hello Paula" the other evening when you called....
