Chicken's brain is already fried and it's only Tuesday.
Well, since no one gave me any suggestions for our meals, here is what I have come up with for today:
1. Fried chicken w/mashed taters, green beans, creamed corn, buttermilk biscuits w/milk gravy and applesauce.
2. Meat loaf w the aforementioned veggies.
DESSERTS: Chocolate cake w/white icing, Yellow cake w/chocolate icing, and cookies: oatmeal, oatmeal raisin, sugar cookies and snicker doodles.
Everyone have a good afternoon, evening, and talk with you later.

I thought I heard some cheering from that direction. Must have been all those people who really hate snakes.
Still nice here, but the clouds are thickening and the radar is starting to show scattered patches of green. Keeping the windows open as long as possible, so's to air out the house.

....About 57 degrees started our day here. Weather, is sunshine, rain and cloudiness. Getting a bit warmer now.
I missed a good day yesterday to perform a needed grass mowing, but we'll attend to it perhaps sometime between this afternoon and tomorrow, if the rain {or lack of}, will let me.
Have a piece of "art" {metal}, that requires my attention to install in spare bedroom today. Had to purchase the right hangers.
Looking forward to more sunshine as weekend nears. Emptied rain gauge yesterday, and that was from Saturday noon, it indicated 1.7" for that time period. Needed it too. Still.
Snakes Larry.....Nope..! Our little pup will eradicate little unwanteds around here. Really don't have much to get rid of. Our area is generally open space. She sure keeps track of a few chipmunks....Such squealing and running when she sees one. So far they have escaped from her, but it's just a matter of time if they stay active here.
One thing I have escaped this season {in the yard}....Ground moles...None whatsoever at all this Summer. Maybe they noted I don't tolerate them to stay very long.....

The oncoming low pressure area (and it's fronts) is taking it's time dragging into the northeast - which is fine, since it's not raining here (yet)and the temperatures are still mild.
The weatherguessers must have figured the system would move faster than it is.
I suspect I'll need the warm snugglies whilst working on the RR this weekend, though.
We have a chilly 54 degrees here in Louisville this morning. But it'll be very chilly Friday night and Saturday night: low to mid 40s. Supposed to be about 65 by noon, and end up back up to 70 for a high today.
Coffee, juices, hot water for hot tea,hot chocolate are all ready and waiting for you all. On the warmer/serving station this morning: oatmeal, rice, toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, along with some bagels and bear claws.
Wonder how many people will show up for Tuesday Produce this morning. Guess I'll find out in couple hours, when they start pouring in.
If anyone has a special request for this afternoon/evening's meal, please let me know. Or do you want to keep the Tuesday Mexican Fiesta menu????
Everyone have a very good morning, keep safe, and take care.
MookieTree - will we be seeing you on an episode of Holmes on Holmes or Holmes Inspection? Hmmm?
I figure the porch was built in the late forties, maybe earlier. What I found doesn't surprise me. (Dismay, perhaps, but not surprise...)
Since I'm my own "contractor" on this one, I'd better keep a pretty close eye on myself....
Happy Belated Birthday, Ed! Like Mookie said, you can bring some of the popcorn into the Diner/Cafe! Think we have plenty of cupboard space, and I doubt it'll last too long.
Walt checked our rain gauge this morning, and it had 3 1/2 inches in it! Mookie, our rain last night was coming from 2 directions: due west, and the wind was coming from due north. Think I saw where our current temp is 69 or 70 degrees now. Sun is shining, but not too warm: definitely need at least a thick sweater or light jacket/sweatjacket.
I've warmed up the roast, taters, carrots, fixed more peas, also made more cornbread and biscuits and garden salad, cole slaw.
Have plenty of chocolate cake, yellow cake and cobblers for dessert tonight.
Mookie, FYI, Little Mook let Walt pick her up and hold her, and she let him pass her to me, and she let me hold her for a bit, too. Needless to say, Little Mud is still a little too skiddish, to let any of us pick her up, or come too close to her. And speaking of the little ones, need to get ready to go give them their food for the night, and fresh water to drink. Daddy Cat is still around, but haven't seen Mama Kikki for a couple of days. Hope she doesn't come back in an 'expectant' state, if you get my drift.
Everyone enjoy, have a good evening and take care.
Joe - been a little quiet today. Maybe our sidings are empty, too?
Tree - will we be seeing you on an episode of Holmes on Holmes or Holmes Inspection? Hmmm?
Ed - Like Joe said, there are always those willing to spend the money other's have raised. Too bad one can't weight the votes by the amount of sales...
Started one of those simple projects that suddenly got difficult today. Working on prepping the house for paint, figured I'd replace a board behind the front steps (cast concrete) before I levelled them up. Found lots of rotten boards (and a little snake). Will have to clean it up a little more and replace the boards. The snake escaped, but I really don't mind - helps keep the little pests under control.
Ed as Matt has gone through school there are people who want the $$ for the fundraisers but don't want to do the work.Mookie the siding at work was empty when we left.Cw thanks for supper.Time to get ready for work.
stay safe
Joe
Deshler Ohio-crossroads of the B&O Matt eats your fries.YUM! Clinton st viaduct undefeated against too tall trucks!!!(voted to be called the "Clinton St. can opener").
Belated Happy Birthday, Ed. Bring some of that popcorn into the diner. I doubt it will go to waste!
CW - how did you get rain around us? We haven't had any moisture for quite awhile, so that snuck in from another direction.
Sir Chicken - Lots has changed around here railroad-wise. They installed several new signal bridges south of the depot, new track was laid to accommodate the new "tax pit" and update on all the south tracks. Amtrak tracks will be done in 12. It would be worth a daylite visit, except we can't figure out how to get into it without raising the ire of someone.
Wayside horns will be here in October. Blah!

Car shows can be {and usually are}, interesting for us car guys. I still have my S-10 Xtreme C W, and still enjoy it as my "toy" to use mostly around town.
Still in nice shape and not too many miles accumulated...So, it's still very servicable.
61 degrees right now....and on and off sunshine. Haven't looked at my rain gauge yet, but we certainly did get some overnight. And oh boy....that grass is almost ready to mow again....It's growing like wildfire now....
All of this on my birthday weekend also.
Feller Old this morning called my Cub Scout Pack has started the Popcorn Fundraiser from Hell as I am calling it. Drove all over the area this weekend selling it in stores. Sold close to 600 bucks with my son however the pack ordered 30K in total. I am buried in Popcorn to Sell. HELP. That and 3/4 of our pack refused to help us this weekend for some reason. I hate to whine but they wanted to order this much and now are not helping to sell it. They either help sell it or look out at the next meeting.
Morning all. 70 and partly clear in Carolina at present. We had a night of on again off again rain, sometimes heavy. That is something the region sorely needs.
Our thunderchickens managed to knock off Vanderblit in spite of themselves this weekend. Methinks the offensive team is in for a bit of discomfort in this week's practice. Anyhoo, we's #10 in the AP and #9 in the coaches poll this week.
Everyone take care

Good Monday morning everyone. Joe, thanks for taking care of opening up this morning. I reckon everything around Louisville, KY is waterlogged this morning: have had a heck of a time trying to get on computer and get anywhere on it.
We (Metro Louisville area), since about 6 p.m. last night, has received anywhere from 2 to 4 inches of rain. Right around the U of L Belknap campus, where the first water main break was back in the summer, was hit again, with cars stuck under the 3rd & Eastern Parkway railroad bridge.
Now on to a little bit better topic. Over the weekend, we had a car show here in one of the local parks. Nice looking cars/trucks, most of them fixed up for street racing. Quentin, don't remember what year it was, but close to the entrance, there was a really good looking Chevy S10 on display. Unfortunately, none of us thought to get a picture of it.
Everyone have a good morning, take care and see you all later.
I recall seeing something of adrianspeeder within the past few days - might have been on FB.
MC - I can sympathize with those folks who supported the Thomas effort - that's how we feel when we wrap up our Polar Express trips for the year in December.
Nice and sunny here now - looks like rain later in the day. Better get my outside stuff done early!
Time to check the mail at the post office then head to town for some banking.
good morning
rainy day here in nw ohio.going to grab a quick breakfast and go to bed.chores will be calling this afternoon.

....I'm no expert on facebook, but I did see Adrian on there yesterday {Saturday}. Or perhaps I should say I saw a pic. of him and a comment with it...
// Sir Topham Hatt hath been placed in his box and ships soon to Minneapolis. Thomas did his last laps around the museum loop and is headed to the roundhouse for shipment to Durango.
The Colorado Railroad Museum will recover in about a week. All the many volunteers have begun to wobble off and recover with the help of some medicinal adult beverage at dinner.
What a week.
Mooks: No idea of what they're doing unless they are cutting in a new switch and taking panels where the new switch went in and dropped them in behind the frog on the new track.
The Amtrak engines that derailed on #6 at Benlelman, NE are finally on their way to Beech Grove since earlier this week.
Hmm, Cannonball: now that you mention it, I don't think I've even seen anything from Adrian on Facebook lately. Gonna have to go back through, and see if I can find anything from him.
Taking our Sunday Dinner menu from the Hagar the Horrible cartoon today:
Roast beef, mashed taters, carrots, peas and biscuits, along with your choice of slaw or garden salad, and for dessert: peach cobbler, chocolate cake and blackberry pie.
Have no idea what our current temp is, but I am chilled to the bone!! The only thing warm is my fingers: which is very odd. Even have on socks, and my feet are still cold; guess that's why I'm so cold all over.
Hope you all are faring better, and enjoying your Sunday afternoon. Take care.
Has anyone heard from or about Adrian Speeder lately ?? He is serving our country in the Air Force.

Y6bs evergreen in my mind
1. Go to church2. Eat fried chicken dinner.3. Pack for our Wisconsin trip.
Good Sunday morning everyone. A little bit rainy with a temp in the mid 60s this morning, here in Louisville. May have on/off periods of light rain during the day, then tonight, into Monday morning, chances for some heavier rain showers. High today in the low 70s.
Joe, thanks for coming in early and fixing breakfast. Sure looks good this morning. Everyone have a good morning, take care going to Church, work, railfanning, or whatever/wherever you need to do.
a great day in fostoria and deshler yesterday.Met old friends and made new friends. We picked up a few new cars at the train show too.Breakfast is ready.Juice and coffee are ready.Time to get ready for church an sunday school.Back to work tonight.
CW, I see it is pizza night again. I think I will have a Canadian Bacon pizza tonight with some Peach Cobbler for dessert.
Nice day here today. We finally got our second 30°C day for 2011. That is 86°F. And our lows are staying in the fifties. It is still 72° now.
Had a little trouble last night around 3 AM, a couple of blocks north of my place. Right were I have to go to get to the local Safeway grocery store. It seems some young fellows were out for some drinks and got into an argument. Then guns were pulled, and shots were fired. I live in what is normally considered to be a "trendy" neighbourhood, which I don't mind because these trendy types tend to look after their properties pretty well. A bullet flew through the window of an Organic food store, next to an Arts & Crafts store. You can just picture what the employees of these places look like. If it wasn't so serious, it was kind of cute when one of them said he had never seen a bullet hole in his store before. And I didn't hear a darn thing.
No new RR news.
