What a difference a couple of hours make in weather.....94 degrees about an hour or so ago and the weather system approached {and is still here over us}, and dropped the temp 11 degrees in about 5 min.

A mess of red on the radar is passing thru central Indiana, and we're on the lower part of it, but getting very hard rain.  Movement is east, southeast.  Lots of thunder / lightning now.

Actually we do need some rain.  That seems impossible, with all that we've had, but it was getting a bit dry on the surface.

Now if the hail will just stay away....I see the trees whipping around pretty severe now.  Yellow "boxes" of warnings are all over us, but don't see any "red" ones for right here...{tornado warnings}.

Edit:  Believe we lucked out on this one.  Had hard rain and some wind gusts...{don't know how much}, but seems we dodged a bullet.  It's now an hour and a half from when the above lines were written.

Now the red's on radar have passed or softened....

Hi CW, a Supreme with some extra Anchovies on top sounds great.

The weather here today hasn't been that bad. I think it has gotten the moisture out of its' system. It is 63° now with another nice day predicted tomorrow. A high of 72°, might be the first plus 70° day for 2011.

No new local RR news.

Good Sunday morning everyone.  Going to be a hot day again, but a tad bit cooler:  our high is to only get to 90 degrees.

I'm the only one up and awake Not counting the 2 cats) here at home.  The other 2 are still in their beds, snoozing away.

Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are fresh and ready to go.  Bagels, bear claws, blueberry muffins, caramel pecan rolls, bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs and toast are on the serving station.

Everyone enjoy, have a good morning, and those going to Church, work or railfanning, keep safe and take care all of you.

Did that lazybones Walt get up in time to go to church with you?Smile

We were supposed to have the hottest day (so far) of the year today--eighty-five degrees. It did not feel that it was close to that when I got back home from church a little before twelve. We have kept our doors and windows closed so it is cooler than that in the house--but that will change, and I will have to get our swamp cooler going some time this month. I do not remember having so much cool weather this late in the year.

Johnny, we didn't make it to Church today.  Maybe next Sunday.  But we have had a semi-busy day here at home.

For our Sunday Dinner (late though it may be):

1.  Grilled sirloin steaks w/baked taters and fresh garden salad

2.  Boston pot roast w/potatoes, carrots, corn on the cob and your choice of broccoli w/butter sauce or peas & carrots

We haven't even watched much of the WHAS Crusade for Children, which is rare for us.  We even missed seeing Walt's former fire dept.  Have no idea how they did this year.  Sarah's department came in early this morning, and they were down a  little bit from last year.  Most of the departments I did hear their totals for, was down, and a few departments were up.  The Crusade will be back on, during the NBA halftime to give the total for this year.  If I don't catch it them, it'll be on the news in the morning and in the morning paper.

Everyone have a good evening and take care.

Another day on the railroad.  And not a bad one at that.  A tad cloudy, but no rain and moderate temperatures.

Headed back on Friday for a construction project, then crew on the weekend.

Catching up on laundry right now.  Then it's time for bed....

Morning, glory. 74 and partly clear in Carolna, expected hgh in mid 90s.

A fairly heavy thunderstorm passed to the south last night and hit Columbia. It knocked out the lghts at Carolna Stadium and stopped the regional final between USC and Stetson in the 5th inning. It continues at 1PM today.

Everyone take care and keep cool.

.....It's a beautiful morning, and forecast to stay dry here today.  But....just closed up the house.  {Really hate to do that}, as it appears the hot / sticky stuff is moving in....Might as well get ahead of it now.

Believe the next few days are to be on the hot / humid side.

Larry, like that picture of the cake!!

Here is our menu for tonight (sorry about not being in since this morning):

1.  Grilled chicken (not our beloved Mudchicken, either) w/sauteed mushrooms & onion, grilled corn on the cob, garden salad and pork & beans

2.  Your choice of roast beef or turkey subs/hoagies w/tater chips

Desserts:  chocolate chip cookies, sugar cookies and whatever flavor ice cream you want (have lots of varieties in the freezer, so help yourselves!

Haven't heard the news yet (not in the living room where TV is), so don't know what our high actually made it to today, but it is very, very warm outside!  Everyone enjoy your meal, have a good evening and take care.  See you all in the morning.

WOW, that was quite the cake.

54° and overcast today. I mentioned I was hoping for a better than 70° day yesterday, and we didn't make it. Still none for 2011. The rest of the week is looking cloudy with some showers. There is still just too much snow pack west of us to get real summer weather. Even when it is clear out, if you have any kind of breeze from the west it will cool everything down.

No new RR news.

Our morning has been with high thin white sky cover, but sun blazing thru it.

This will be a hot one and with humidity.  Looks like we might see in the area of 94 degrees this afternoon.  At least...!

Back home from Tuesday Produce & Bread/Pastry duty.  We had a nice crowd this morning, and thank Heavens, everyone was well behaved.  We had:  cabbage, potatoes, bagged onions, zuchinni squash, bananas and 1/2 gallon cartons of organic whole milk.

For our meal for the rest of the day, in Honor of Mudchicken's birthday:

1.  Grilled steak, pork chops, baked beans, baked taters, grilled corn on the cob and freshly made garden salad.

Dessert:  Chocolate cake (just like the one in Larry's picture) and whatever flavor ice cream you want from the freezer.

The first round of steak and chops are coming off the grill in ten minutes.  Hope you all enjoy your afternoon.  Keep cool and take care.  See you all later.

....Several on here are very interesting in chocolate cake....Some more than others.  Jen...have you ever tried the chocolate cake {very moist}, and so rich....and lots of solid chocolate bits in the icing, and it includes ice cream with it....!!  It's found at Red Lobster.  Jean & I get it occasionally....one, for the both of us...Let that be a warning.  Think the price is 6 dollars plus.  But it's the awesome richness that limits how much one can really eat of it....Hence, one for two.

Strange enough, our meijer's store {big box}, which includes a grocery end of it {for those who do not know}, and they sell a cake in a box that is very close to the Red Lobster version....Just add ice cream, and the effective price per serving would be a lot less.

Just my take on chocolate cake for today....My 2 Cents
