Maybe Larry is having trouble getting in; the former address for the forums in my "Favorites" no longer worked, and I had to go to the Trains main site to get the new address.
We have had a cold spell here, with morning temperatures in the low fifties (lots of rain Monday mornig), but it will be warmer and warmer--until the weekend, when it gets cold again.

Good morning. 77 and sunny in Carolina, with a hurricane off the coast. It will pass us later, and according to the boffins, we'll hardly notice it.
Everyone have a great day

.....A windows open morning here in Muncie. Rain was coming our way, but broke up....Some in the State, but not here. Still very dry....dry...! Sunshine now.
Thanks much for serving breakfast this morning, CW. But in the interest of my own health, I'm going to skip breakfast this morning, I stood on the brink of having a heart attack yesterday and this always happens when I allow my sodium levels to get out of control.
It's not supposed to get much above 67 here this afternoon and right now we have a 20% chance of rain. It is hard to believe that the area in which I live has gotten just over 22 inches of rain in the last 3 months!!

I was too poor in 1958 to own a camera. On my way to Norfolk, the PRR dropped a few cars in Cincinnati. Then a N&W "J" pulled us the rest of the way.
Good Thursday morning, everyone. Well, Walt and I heard Sarah on the scanner awhile ago, just guess she'll be getting home after awhile.
We're starting out with a temp of 73 degrees, 71 out in the burbs. Going for a high of 94 today. High yesterday was 95. Going to see mostly partly cloudy skies, and a little bit of sunshine.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are freshly made and ready. On the serving station this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy. And there's still some cinnamon dougnut pops. (If Mutt hasn't eaten all of them yet!)
Everyone have a good morning, and see you all later.

Mutt knows Da place also! I even have seen the Mosaic Murals while they were still at C.U.T. before they went to CVG. (seen them there too!)
Very nice video, would love to see the one on building C.U.T. again.
Joe, Sarah never seems to get a chance to get into the "City Life" there, after their 10 hrs., they get sent back out. (and she's not a baseball fan.....only likes "contact sports" such as hockey & football)
Jay, very glad to see you back in here, try not to be a stranger.
I'm glad I recognized the "O" Scale layout, I might have gone past the place without stopping!

Jay, sounds like a good move! Hope you won't be such a stranger around here! Good to see you come in!!
Fixing a little bit of Chinese for this afternoon/evening here. Just the different varieties of fried rice: beef, chicken, pork, shrimp, along with wonton soup, sweet & sour pork, and pepper steak.
Went to the store this morning, before all the people got in there, and it really heated up temp wise. Came into the kitchen this morning, and found our broom had collapsed. Aparently, the duct tape decided not to hold the broom to the handle any longer. So bought a new one (with a little white dustpan attached.
Everyone have a good afternoon, evening, keep cool and take care.

Yes, but don't tell my wife. It is only 45 miles, but Mapquest says it will take 52 minutes. They must figure it at the speed limit.

Just dropping by for a quick hello and check out the new digs. The new decorations look good.
We have been very busy. About a year or so ago, my mother-in-law had to be moved to a nursing home. We decided to do a major restoration/modernization of her 1834 limestone house, and with the work essentially completed we sold our house in Wisconsin and moved. Now "south of the border"- (Illinois/Wisconsin), I can step out to the street and see the CP (Ex-MILW, ex-Soo, ex-ICE, ex-DM&E) tri-weekly Davis Jct-Janesville local on tracks about 2 blocks down. I don't think it will make Trains "Hot Spot", but at least the job runs in the daytime.
Take care
Jay
Tom: Heard on tv that hizzacane is headed to Hamptons. Not to worry.
Joe - sending cooler wetter weather your way. In fact, a couple of times.
CW - pass the ibuprophen.
good morning
we are watching the east coast as well with the hurricane.I wouldn't mind if we received some of that rain but I don't know if it would help the farmers out now or not. Another triple H day today with rain moving in from the west tonight and tomorrow according to the guessers.Well tonight will be my friday.I took an extra day off for the labor day weekend.Cw thanks for breakfast.Time for a nap.
Good morning and thanks for breakfast. Paula, you are to be commended.
69 degrees and clear in Carolina at sunrise. The boffins say 94 is the high for today. We are all watching the hurricane to see what it's up to. It is supposed to pass between 200 and 300 miles to the east of us, but those things have no scruples and may try to come ashore at the last moment. We shall see.
Everyone take care and see yall later
Good Wednesday morning everyone. Well, we are starting out with a temp in the mid 70s, going for the mid 90s today. Guess we'll have to water the flowers, tomatoes again tonight.
Coffee, juices and other morning beverages are freshly made and ready to go. As a matter of fact, Mookie, here's your coffee!
On the serving station this morning: turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, toast, biscuits & gravy, bagels, bear claws, and some mini cinnamon doughnuts.
Everyone enjoy your breakfast, have a very good morning, and take care. See you all later on.

Well, finally....we made it. First item I noticed was the small font.
And the larger {wider}, space to put advertising, squeezing the space for forum material.
Seems like waisted space on each side of the monitor screen...????
Guess that's my first impression....Have just been on now for about 5 min.
Evening all.......
Looks pretty nice in here, will take some getting used to, but that's part of life. Dropped off a few houses worth of windows today, reloaded with material for General Mills. Ever wonder what a truckload of those single-serve cereal bowls looks like? I know now......
See everyone later....

Our local Center For Active Generations will be hosting a photography contest between the 20th of September and the 5th of October, and I have decided this something I might want to participate in. I am limited to 2 8 x 10" prints, they should be matted and I should have my entry submitted no later than September 13th. And anything I use must have been shot within the last 2 years.
I have plenty of material to work with, and I've got pictures of a CB&Q O5A class 4-8-4 , #5633 at Douglas, Wyoming I can use, but right right now I can't find either the pictures or the negatives.
I think I got some paint on a paw...
