.....Well, Friday...and I've had my fish for today. Lunch in near by Yorktown at Osborne's. Grilled white fish from Alaska. Pretty good.
Plenty of sunshine around here today. Not a bad temp for Fall...Grass has grown some now, since we recieved an inch of rain in the past week.
Can't do anything about it today though....Not quite up to power...Must be some sinus draining. Appetite ok, but just not with it too well. Hopefully this won't last too long.
Note a bit of "railroad news" we're helping with over in the Post: "EMD to build new plant in Muncie, In." Sure hope that really does become a reality, as that would increase the awareness of railroads here, and the employment is something any area would love to have.
Quentin
Thanks Paula. I am a bit late getting in here today... 64 and clear this afternoon, with the mugginess gone for a while.
Everyone take care and have a great evening.

Hi Justin! Good Friday morning to you and everyone. Thank you so very much for fixing breakfast for us all this morning. Everything looks very good. You did a great job!
We have a current temp of 42 degrees here in Louisville this morning. Going for a high in the upper 50s, low to mid 60s for today. Have fair skies at the moment, not going to get as cool as they originially predicted, as we have some cloud cover this morning. But definitely jacket weather out this morning, and today. I do believe autumn weather has finally arrived in our area.
Everyone have a very good morning, take care and I'll see you all later.
Good morning all, I’m finally on fall break. Whew! We do need a break! Dad and I went rail fanning yesterday at Lafayette Jct., and saw a total of 4 trains so it was a pretty good day overall. Today, I’m going to my Grandma’s house to help her out with some housework. I took the liberty of preparing breakfast for everyone. CW can take a break today! Biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs and bacon are all on the warmer bar with the usual stuff as well. Have a good day all!

Evening everyone......
Well, missed all the wild weather completely, was in GA when it all blew through, paced a line of storms out of ATL on I-85 all the way through South Carolina, and by the time I ran back on I-40 yesterday, everything died out. Ran through the I-40 gorge in NC, there is now a large hole where the mountainside used to be, and a new rockslide fence at the bottom.
Sitting in Matthews, MO, until Saturday morning, ran out of hours to drive, so have to restart my 70-hour clock. I think I can keep busy in the truck for a day.....
See everyone later....

Went to lunch with Hulcher. Had frog legs. After lunch, entertainment by Hulcher employee. He tried to hide from all the cameras in the yard and people in the area, but he forgot - foamers carry binoculars.
All go - no show
But, not much in the train department. They only had about one inbound from north open and nothing going south. Will try again on Saturday.

I monitored the scanner to see if I could find any info on the manifest blocking CSX track 2 this morning. Other than find out it was Q491, nothing else was said and eventually, it headed south.
Thanks for lunch, Paula. All the best on your execises and I hope it makes you feel better.
FWIW, we now have a sunny sky and 76 degrees. Quite a change from 3 hours ago.
On our noon news, our temps had dropped to the mid 50s, so it is still cooling down outside. So far, the house is comfortable.
For the rest of the afternoon and evening, here are your meal choices:
1. Chili w/your choice of PB&J, grilled cheese, or tuna salad sandwiches
2. Leftover beef stew, oyster stew, clam chowder or vegetable beef soupfrom yesterday
3. Sloppy joes with fried or chips, slaw or salad
Now, I'm going to go and do my back exercises. You all take care and see you later.
Good afternoon from Carolina. At present, 74, breezy and scattered heavy rain. I had to rouse meself up and haul the girls to the beauty parlor and back. Somehow, I managed to see a S C Central freight and a northbound Amtrak. For some reason, CSX had one of their mains blocked with a train. I am trying to find out why and am hoping it's not something serious .
Everyone take care
We're having an overcast morning here....and accompanied with still gusting winds, and temps just in the 40's. So, it doesn't feel too comfortable out there yet today.
Leaves blowing around. Soon as we have a little warmer day, we'll fire up the John Deere again, and do another pass over the yard for actually some mowing...{recent rainfall has allowed some growing}, but especially to mulch leaves that have been blowing around these past few days.
I can get rid of them that way, If I don't let them accumulate too much. So far, the wind has moved them around enough that hasn't been a problem yet. It's pretty bright {and still}, overcast right now...
{CW}....wind capable of blowing over a running semi, 18 wheeler, must really have some serious push behind it....But we know it happens. The interstate {I-69}, is somewhat famous to have several spots, and especially between rt. 32 south to Indy....that the wind blows across it sometimes severely. In fact, in one area, some years ago, they planted some kinds of brushy, thick greenery along side an area of that part of it, to help minimize the wind blasts.
morning
according to the guessers here the fur is going to be needed for quite awhile.yesterday while on an errand Matt and I saw a csx engine getting ready to have a traction motor changed near Fc here in town.Didn't have time to watch the Hulcher crew work.Cw thanks for breakfast.Time for bed.Going to help with Matts afterschool program today. Then he is going to join his cousins in trick or treating.resse peanut butter cups if you please.

Dropped the wind and the temperature like a box of rocks. 30 degrees and only noise is neighbor dog preaching again. Fur today, sandals tomorrow. Ah Fall....
Good Thursday morning everyone! Johnny, I love your poem,! Gee, if Dan Harmon were still around here, he would make a story up, using some of us here on the forums, as characters!! Larry, do you still have the link for Detective Cinder.....?
We currently have a temp of anywhere between 61 and 63 degrees. Our temp is will be slowly dropping throughout the day. Our "high" for today is to be upper 50s, for the Metro area.
Coffee, juices, hot cider, hot chocolate, and hot water for hot tea or instant coffee are fresh and ready to go.
On the serving station this morning: bagels, bear claws, cinnamon rolls, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, biscuits & sausage gravy.
NWS has confirmed several tornadoes from Tuesday. One in western Ky., one southeast of us in Mt. Washington, KY in Bullitt Co. I forgot where the other one was.
Quentin, we also had a couple of semis overturn Tuesday. One was on I-65 in Bullitt Co.
Everyone have a good morning, take care, and see you all later.

Drove to Indy this morning, and some wind plasts were hitting the automobile, but nothing realy serious. Yesterday, some 18 wheelers were blown over on interstates here in Indiana.
Moderate temps today and quite a bit of sunshine.
Wig, maybe?

2. Clam chowder
3. Oyster stew w/oyster crackers
I had to run an errand this morning, and coming home, heard a couple of older ladies discussing the pre-election rhetoric. I looked over, and said to them, "Wonder if they (the candidates and other powers that be), if no one voted, wonder if they would get the message that we're tired of all the mud slinging, etc., and change their tunes!" One of the ladies looked at me and said, "You know, you may have something there: I never thought of that!"
Everyone have a good afternoon, take care and see you all later.

I am too ready for the ads and calls to stop.Worked outside this afternoon. After today mother nature is going to bring us back to reagular tempratures.Waiting for matt to come home then we have an errand to do in town. Then it's time to get things for work.I found some leftovers in the fridge for supper tonight.
Yes, it will be wonderful to be past 11-2-10. We may not like all the results, but we will no longer be bombarded by great proclamations. Ricki and I have already voted, by mail, so we have been able to ignore the supplications "vote for me," debates, and discussions since. Generally, it seems that when a candidate has nothing real to offer, or is afraid to stand on his record, he resorts to character assassination.
Our morning temperature was in the low thirties--and we had more snow in the night (I have not estimated how much). The sidewalk and driveway were covered, but the schoolchildren going by pretty well got the sidewalk clean; the driveway is slowly being cleared by the warmth of the sun. Brances of the maple in the back yard is bowed by the weightof the snow on the leaves; so far as I know nothing is broken (it suffered enough several years ago when a heavy snow came in the midst of winter).

Good morning, and it looks like I number 6. 75 degrees and cloudy in Carolina. They say we may get some strong storms later in the day.
I would like to say, and I am unanimous in this, that I am sick of politics, political ads and the sort of riff raff what runs in those circles. More than one local idiot has made a fool of himself on the news lately and I welcome Nov 3rd!

Sunny, and a bit cooler today by the looks of it. And dry, at least for a while, which is good, I have some work to do in the yard.
Time to get cracking!

Good Wednesday morning everyone. Mookie, Joe's #2, and I'm #3. Coffee is just about finished brewing, fresh juices are made, and have hot water for hot cider, tea, or instant coffee.
On the serving station this morning: bagels, bear claws, turkey bacon, sausage, scrambled eggs, homemade buttermilk biscuits w/sausage gravy. Or there is some hot oatmeal and toast, if you'd rather have that.
Our current temp if 53 degrees, going for a projected high of 74 today, and breezy this afternoon.
