Hey Mookie, did you know Zager and Evans were from Lincoln?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WhNM2K8cmU8

Dale - I saw them perform in a lounge here in the city when they were first starting out.  Zager lives here in Lincoln and was a successful business man.  Don't know about Evans.

Good Monday morning, everyone.  Joe, thanks for taking care of breakfast this morning.  I had a really bad night.  Kept waking up, practically every hour, sometimes on the half hour.  Finally got up about 5:30, and went to turn on the coffee pot.  Then, went back to sleep, about 6:15 or so, woke up at 7:10, with Trapper the Cat on my head, wanting breakfast.  So got up, fed him and Uba, then went back to bed and sleep again.  My back seems to be some better this morning; now, if I could only get my stomach to cooperate, I'd be doing fine.

Sarah left sometime around or just after 11 last night, working the shortline.  Guess we'll see her home again sometime Wednesday.   Walt is still sleeping.

We have fair, sunny skies this morning, with a temp of 70 degrees.  May have a chance of some rain later in the week, Wednesday or Thursday.  Everyone have a good day, and take care.

Hello kiddies, it's Monday. I borrowed the greeting from the late Fred Allen.... 75 and overcast, headed for 92 and showers all day, so they say.

Was up late, Facebooking. That is a wonderful tool, but everyone is badmouthing it. Several friends have closed their accounts because of media reports of possible security issues.

Paula, who is Uba? Did you and Walt get a new baby? My girls are eating breakfast at my feet and sound like a pair of hogs......... One of them has taken to whining a lot and it comes out more like a squeak. I'm thinking about taking the WD40 to her.

On that note, everyone take care

Tom

Tom, check out either my Facebook account, or Sarah's, and look through our photos. Mine is listed under "My Pets". Uba is a little Manx kitty gotten through our Humane Society here in the City, and we've had her about a year or so.(and even though there's only the two cats, when they play you'd think that there is a "Herd" around!!)

Rain tomorrow - cooler on way.

Facebook - too many people post every utterance and information right down to the size of their underware and then wonder why they are blitzed.  I am amazed at what people will discuss on FB.  I can track people thru other people sometimes as far as 3-4 generations and even tho' we aren't connected, can tell you all about them because they don't protect their pages.

Moo.....

I agree that Facebook is a wonderful tool. There will only be problems if you don't use it properly. For example, some of my more immature "friends" post just about anything, including racy photos, foul language, etc, which isn't good. There should not be security issues either, unless you post every aspect of your life for the world to see.

Classes at Creighton don't begin until Wednesday, so I have a small amount of freedom left. Differential Equations will definitely be the most difficult course for me this semester. Interesting note: I seem to be the only person majoring in atmospheric sciences in the class of 2013. There was one other person, but she switched to a different school this year.

Mookie, the rain should get here this evening and be done by tomorrow. Cool temperatures and low humidity for the next few days!

Agreed. Some of my friends tell every secret they have, often in graphic terms, and often using vulgarity. However, that is a common trait of our poorly educated semi-literate society who fawns on celebrities. What I was referring to was the ability to really get to know who you are talking to, or re-establish past relationships. I have no real need for the vanity and vulgarity that is so prevalant is our world today. We can get it anywhere.

Walt, I was not aware that Uba was a family member. Thanks for the clarification.

Everyone take care

Tom

On that same note, Facebook was a really great way to keep in touch over the summer with some of my new college friends who do not live around Omaha. It definitely has more pros than cons.

Nice and sunny here today, with no more storms predicted until Friday or so. The storm we had in this area yesterday took care of electric power for about 11,000 homes and businesses, some of which still had no power until this morning. I-80 and I-15 has power lines down across them, which kinda blocked travel for a while.

The heavy rain here last week caused some homes to be flooded, and at least one house had its living room window broken.

So far this month, we have had almost twice the usual total rainfall for the month, so the water year here is looking better (still less than the usual for the year).

Finally stopped raining....

Visited with daughter and grandson today.  He's quite the character, but fun to be around.  Still in the early stages of learning to talk, his favorite utterance is "ehh?" - whether it's asking for something or asking about something.  He has developed several hand signs of his own, including please and "that's enough."

Still recovering from a long weekend - two days on the railroads, thirteen hours of firematic races, and two hours of a rainy parade wrapped up by a late evening ambulance call that went sour as we entered the hospital.  I'm pooped.

Mookie:  That capped off an up-and-down week, as I got rear-ended on I-95 near Boston on Thursday morning, my semitrailer was just scratched up, but the white van that hit me was a little messed up.  Of course, he took off after making sure his engine was still running, it did get called in to 911, but they had a worse wreck about 4 miles down the road that they were worried about more.....

Back to the highway tomorrow......

Well, he was born about 70 miles from the Canadian border, and his mom knows the words to the Canadian national anthem, but...

No, his "pronunciation" is very much a question, as opposed to the punctuation nature of the Canadian "eh?"

So I get to bed early, only to be awakened shortly thereafter by the bleating of my pager for a garage fire right down the street.  Since I have a fire department radio in my truck, I reported the "working fire" as I pulled out of my driveway.

We were fortunate to save the neighboring house, but they'll definitely need some new vinyl siding.

Good morning, it's Tuesday. Happens every week round this time....

73 and cloudy at sunrise, headed for 89 and a thunderstorm this afternoon according to the boffins, We can use the rain, believe me.

I seem to be first here, since my girls rousted me up from my most enjoyable dreams of a certain human female, so consider the place open. The normal fare is on the buffet bar and fountain drinks are available.

Larry, sounds like you had an exciting night. The local VFD has been here on several occasions for brush fires, and several false alarms. They aren't really appreciated till they are needed, and afterwards, they are special folk.

Everyone take care and have a great day.

Tom

Morning everyone.  Tom, thanks for taking care of breakfast.  Got a little bit more sleep last night, not a whole lot.  Getting ready to go to the doctor.  Tried to get in yesterday, but they were booked solid.  So I'm going to be there before they open this morning.

Everyone have a good morning, and take care.

Well, I made it to the doctor's office, and back home.  They did blood work for pancreaitis.  Will find out about that sometime tomorrow.

Just managed to eat a few bites of mashed taters.  So far, so good.

You all have a good afternoon, and take care.

A friend of mine was looking at a rental house in Santa Barbara Calif. and
asked what the monthly rate was. $22,000 was the reply. It is still on the
market, I am told....  I told her she should have jumped right on that. Such a bargain she found

This is my second try on this post. I sent it several hours ago and checked it. Now it's gone. Not the first time either

Paula, take care of yourself. Pancreaitis is nothing to play with. You are on my prayer list for a negative on the tests you had done.

75, and we never did get the rain we were promised

Oh what a glorious morning. This is not the Clinton viaduct, but the one going to Arsenal Island. There is a sign telling truckers to use the other entrance.

Good Wednesday morning everyone.  Tom, thanks for taking care of breakfast this morning.  I really appreciate your alls help the past few days, and always.

I am doing a little bit better this morning.  Started on the antibiotic and the Zantac last night, so far, not a lot of burping and belching going on.  Did eat a few more mashed taters last night.  That's about all I'm able to eat right now.  Fixed a meat loaf last night, and didn't even want a taste of it.  (And meat loaf is one of my favorite meals!)  The good news (if there can be any so far), is that I've lost 4 pounds.  I don't think I've been close to 134 lbs. for about 40, 45 years.

Everyone have a good day, and take care.
