Afternoon all,
Sleeting here in western Indiana. Looks like it will get nasy next few days here. Maybe a 2hr delay 2 mmrow?
Have a good evening.
Justin

Still watching the progress of the massive storm from the west.
With just a little luck, we'll get minimum problems from this system....from the trajectory path I've seen so far. Today....slight drizzle at times and above freezing this afternoon. Hoping that freezing rain line will stay above us.
I know we can expect very gusty winds here tomorrow....Perhaps 50 or more mph.

Somebody get hold of Willy at WeatherliarU....the temperature needle is going the wrong way (now at 2 degrees)
Watched a 3 car accident unfold behind me in my rearview mirror on the freeway this morning. Knew something was up after a Mustang passed me going backwards.
Seemed to have a family reunion going on on Mook's special secret thread with an assist from here. (DC,LC,BC,JC,MC and Co.)
We only had 32 people at Produce this morning. So plenty of food for everyone: fresh(?) ears of corn, cabbage, potatoes, and half gallon containers of apple juice and orange juice.
For lunch and supper tonight, we have: chili (mild and medium, with plenty of hot sauce to add for 3 alarm chili), vegetable beef soup, cream of broccoli soup, and cream of tomato soup, along with grilled cheese sandwiches, PB&J sandwiches, tuna salad sandwiches, turkey and roast beef hoagies (subs).
We are getting rain, and our temp is still in the upper 30s at 12:37 p.m. And yep, it's a cold rain, too.
Everyone enjoy, have a good afternoon, stay warm and take care.
Wet snow and wind last night but the sun is out and will melt much of it. Have to crank up the 4 wheel drive vehicle and take my bride (of 55 years) to the DETAIL SHOP, where she will have her weekly hair appointment. I must have taken very good care of her and never caused any anxiety as my hair is now gray but hers remains as it always was.
It's a balmy 4 degrees here in Denver with a light dusting of powder snow still falling. (Scotties through the dog-door all with frosted hi-lites)Time to push the snow off with a broom and then return to the office haj to the other side of the building. The new rathole looks vaguely like the old rathole.
Morning

Good morning. 43 degrees and cloudy in Carolina this lovely day. Apparently, Yall's lousy weather is headed this way. Weatherguess is a high of 49 and rain, with 74 and thunder tomorrow. Rats! That means the wireless and appertenances will have to be disconnected again. December?
Thanks for breakfast and the cinnamon rolls. Paula, you and Ray make a great team. Everybody take care and stay safe and warm

Good morning. I've been busy here in the kitchen for the last few hours, and I will leave a pan of cinnamon rolls here on the counter, there is also a stick of soft butter to go with the rolls. Enjoy!!
At the present moment we have 12 degrees above 0 here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and our wind chill puts us at 1 below 0. We have a winter storm watch in effect for roughly the next 24 hours and we could get anywhere from four to six inches of snow. Fun!!
Well, I hope the rest of you will all have a good day. Stay warm!
Ray ooo ooo ooOOOOOo
Good Tuesday morning, everyone. So far everything is calm, with a temp of around 34. Nothing is supposed to start until this afternoon? so maybe I'll be back in from Produce, and won't get blown away.
Mookie, I'm glad you like everything yesterday for your birthday! It was my pleasure to pull everything together for you. You are a really terrific friend, and it was the least I could do for you.
Coffee, juices, milk, chocolate milk, hot cider and hot water for hot tea are ready to go, as well as the bear claws, bagels, bacon, eggs, sausage, biscuits & gravy for breakfast.
Has everyone battened down the hatches? I hope so. And hopefully, no one will lose power, so we can all keep in touch with each other!! (If I don't make it back in, someone please keep the place open and running, o.k?)
MookieExcellent meals today, CW. Thank you for all the work you put into them. I know I just gave you general ideas and you pulled it all together. May have an updated weather forecast: Iowa - start packing to move before it is too late. And don't come this direction! If Quentin doesn't get something out of all this, I am moving in with them! I will be convinced that they have no weather! Off to see if they are still working on the fire caused by those candles!!

Well, if the Weather Guessers hit the "Forecast" correctly, we may have to try and hang onto something tomorrow. We're supposed to get gusts up to 50+ MPH! Mook and all from the west of us, Yell very loudly as you go past, we'll do our best to snag you from going any further than Ky.
However, you may have about the same cold temps. here...luckily, only a dusting of snow today.
Being Crazy, keeps you from going "INSANE" !! "The light at the end of the tunnel, has been turned off due to budget cuts" NOT AFRAID A Vet., and PROUD OF IT!!
Mudchicken; 6deg. indeed is quite cool . Lizard my 40yr. old p.u. does have a cantankerious spell now and then when it gets cold . So I give it a snort of engine " huffer" Only at temps below 10deg. Here in the mtns. that don't happen too often. I am glad of that because I don't want it to get addicted to the huffer LOL .

We're not moving anywhere- went to the store and stocked up instead. If it gets as bad as predicted, I might actually have time Wednesday to make a couple more posts here!

Dan, if you and Misty lived closer, I'd offer free babysitting services.
Here's the menu for Mookie's birthday supper: We have a salad buffet, where you can make your own: there's roast beef, turkey, chicken, pork, tomatoes, onion, grated cheese, all kinds of lettuce, cabbage, carrots, diced boiled eggs, etc., to make your own salad. There's even some taco shells and ground beef for taco salads
Dessert tonight: make your ice cream cones, with the following flavors: chocolate, vanilla, strawberry, peach, peppermint, and whatever candy bar you want to crumble up and put into your ice cream cone.
Dan, it's real good to see you in here! Please come back by whenever you can. You are missed when you're not here.
LOL that......Aedan, finishing building a new garage, remodeling the front porch, and working on the north half of the house have kept me busy...besides the stuff I want and need to take care of (Aedan excepted). It's too bad there isn't a RR game like that on there...

Hello all,
Snow.... Has hit western Indiana. Almost all gone now, but it was covering a good amount of the ground this morning.
MS. Mook,
Also today we should remember all of the vets. that were killed, and fought in Peral Harbor.
CNW 6000 I don't swing by much...but I will help Mook eat some of her B-Day dessert. Happy Birthday.

mudchickenQM: That cold blast has us in single digits with some light snow (2")...
I've been seeing all that blast of Artic air out there and we'll be keeping our eye on it's direction.
This tree is bushed. After five trains in two days (averaging around 330 pax per train), followed by a two+ hour drive that included a trip through some lake effect, the alarm clock was an unwelcome intrusion this morning. But I got up anyhow.
Ms Mooks luncheon ideas sound very nice, thank you. I'm glad it wasn't pizza - since that's what they feed us on the train more often than not, I'm pizza'd out, and still have two weekends to run.
Of course, 'the cat's' choices are in recognition of her birthday, to which I will add my regards as well!
Training someone here this morning, so didn't get in for the usual. Might make a nice mid-afternoon snack...

Mookie and everyone else, here's today's lunch menu:
Burgers and brats, with fries, rings (guessing onion rings) and curly fries. There's plenty of lettuce tomatoes, and whatever else you want to put on your burgers and brats, especially provolone cheese and mushrooms. There's even some bacon, if you want to add that to your sandwiches.
Soft drinks and skim milk, along with all the regular list of beverages, and for dessert: Raspberry chocolate cake w/dark chocolate icing.
I'll be back after awhile, to post the supper menu, as it is different than our lunch menu.
Mookie, I hope you're enjoying your birthday to the fullest, and thank you for the Christmas card: came in today's mail. Now, to go start addressing our cards to get out in the mail.
QM: That cold blast has us in single digits with some light snow (2")...Fortunately, the cold makes the snow all powder which gets moved by broom quickly. I would not want to be in west central and southwestern CO where places like Durango, Gunnison, Silverton & Aspen are looking at blizzard warnings with 1-3 FEET.
Sorry about the BenGay smell in the diner....It's time to bug-out and move the office accross the building for the final time.
......Our Monday morning looks "different".....Our first snow. 1/2" overnight. 30 degrees now. It has to start sometime, and this year it is within 2 days of being one month later than last season. First snow last season was Nov. 9th. So it was nice for it to hold off that much longer for us this year.
Wondering just where that winter blast we're hearing about way out west now....is heading.
Our Governor has asked that flags be lowered to half staff today in respect to Pearl Harbor loss of life and distruction, 68 years ago. And of course taking us into WWII....!
Edit: Made a trip into town for a late morning breakfast....Jean and I. It was pretty good. Temp is above freezing and the half inch of snow is having a difficult time surviving.
But......Out of the half dozen or so flags flying, just one was at half staff in memory of Dec. 7th, 1941....And one of those not at half staff was at the VFW....!

Weather here is...........Lots of accidents on the highways cause people don't know how to drive. Although, I'll give one section of highway a break....it's so poorly designed that you could be sitting still in "Dry" weather and slide off the sucker! (along with the other "poorly designed highways" around here.)
Mookie, Hope You have a Very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
Hope Birthday and Santa Cat bring You some Very Good Treats!!
('course a win over the Wronghorns would have been great!)
Ja, guten tag, bring it on.... Happy Birthday Dear Mookie. How does it feel to be however old you aer? I am 22. I originally thought 27, but I counted one set of toes twict.
39 and it seems overcast outside at present. Thanks for breakfast. Everybody take care
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Mookie!! It's too bad I don't have your mailing address, because if I did I'd send you a batch of chocolate chip cookies.
Today is "Christmas goodies day" at my part time employer, Howes Oil Company, and I just finished adding the frosting to two pans of cinnamon rolls which I will be taking over there shortly. And there may be a couple pans of cinnamon rolls on the counter here in the diner tomorrow morning.
We have our first major snow storm approaching this region, and tomorrow's weather for this part of the country could get quite ugly, with temperatures below 0, not to mention the wind chill factors.
Cw thanks for breakfast.Mother nature is giving us a dusting this morning.matt is on time and on the bus.MC the buckeyes are going to have alot of mad ducks coming at them.Time for a nap.here is you mug mookie.Congrats Sarah on your award.hope you can be on standby when Cw brings out the cake.

It very well may be all my fault, but I haven't had my finners on the dials of the weather machine at Weatherliar U.
Jen's Huskers are wondering just where in the heck the leapsecond came from. Bearcat alumni (including this one) were hoping Nebraska would dump the handcart just to muddy things up a bit after they just barely survived Pitt. (It's a good year when Ohio State finishes behind them, which is incredibly rare. Hasn't happened since the Sid Gilman era, before I was hatched.)
Gotta go outside and broom off another 2 inches of white powder. Currently 6 degrees. Lurch is gonna have a hard time getting started today.
